Thank you for your stay, Art. It is very costly to heat a pool in the winter months even in Florida. Especially given the high cost of gas these days, the $1800 for 64 days is very reasonable compared to the going rate in the market. I have also reiterated multiple times, before your check-in and mid-way through your stay, to reach out to our FL property manager if you ever have any maintenance or pool issues, or to me if you do not get a prompt response from them. I did not get any communication from you about any issues, and had no idea you even had an issue during your month-long stay until I saw this review.

We appreciate your feedback and take all guest concerns seriously, as you even acknowledged our team's prompt responses. The patio door alarm functions as intended—a safety feature to prevent unsupervised pool access and maintain indoor climate control, as leaving doors open in Florida’s heat could overload the AC. A BBQ grill usage fee is not uncommon in this vacation rental market, especially as it covers a propane tank refill. I have been hosting for 12 years, and our fee has not increased in all that time. Our staff was dispatched immediately to address the grill’s grease buildup issue, and the grill was confirmed to be in working order. We provided a partial refund for the inconvenience nonetheless. Six new pillows were promptly provided when you expressed dissatisfaction. Our team responded quickly to every concern, yet some expectations—like replacing a functional grill—were unreasonable. While we understand that every guest has different expectations, we take pride in maintaining our home to high standards and accommodating reasonable requests.

We are indeed considering updating the beds in some form for three of the bedrooms. We are, however, not planning to add more TVs. Some guests prefer not to have a TV in kids' rooms, three TVs in the house are enough. I noticed from your review that you had more than one guests (at least 3?) staying at the property, while your booking stated only 1 guest. It is probably an oversight on your part, but an accurate guest count would be appreciated not only as a courtesy to the hosts but also per our house rules.

As an upscale resort, Solana resort provides not only premium facilities such as a fully staffed clubhouse, pool/spa, tiki bar, 18-hole mini-golf, but also 24x7 security to ensure guest safety. The guards are there to monitor and check the access badges of people entering the resort including all the guests. I am not sure what the circumstance was at the time of your stay, but I am sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience with the guard. We were caught by a complete surprise by your review as It was never communicated to us any time during your stay. As the owner of the villa, we tried our utmost to prepare and service our villa to ensure our guests had a good stay. We do not, however, have any control over the resort security guard, other than filing a complaint to the resort management about that particular guard, in which case, you need to provide some details surrounding your encounter with the guard. We received none. Nonetheless, your 2 star rating is an extraordinarily low rating for an otherwise "perfect" stay - the rating seems unjustified (vs. our avg of 4.5 stars over 9 years that we've been hosting).

However, upon checking today, I found that section is no longer shown after VRBO’s multiple updates to their listing UI. So I have just added the note to the main listing description. AC temp can be adjusted. I would think 72F-77F is a reasonable range. When in question, contact our FL guest service/property manager.

Sorry to hear your 5-day stay was not up to your standard. I want to clarify that the 24 photos of the villa and the resort accurately depict the property. We recommend our guests check out the pictures before they book. And overwhelmingly, our guests rated us 5 stars (4.5/5) and gave positive reviews. The beddings and amenities are all as pictured. The towels are refreshed periodically - the ones currently in the villa are one year old (not from "a dollar store in 1990"). The TV stand in the family room is also as pictured. You did email me once about the pool temperature, and I advised you to call the property manager as they are close by in the same city. Since I did not hear from you again for the rest of your stay, I thought everything was resolved. In a follow-up, our property manager confirmed that the pool heater had been turned on for your arrival with a brand new pool cover to conserve the heat. We ourselves returned from the villa two weeks before; the pool heater was working well too. However, we hired the property manager for guest service, and you are right to expect them to respond to your calls. According to the property manager, they did not receive any calls from you, and we could only surmise that you called the office number when they were out working. Were you able to leave a message or call the alternative cell phone numbers in addition to the office number in the villa's guest book? It must have been a communication mishap, which I will help avoid in the future by clearly spelling out the steps and escalation path for our future guests if they run into any maintenance issues at the villa.
