Mosley Cottage is a beautiful, eclectic beach cottage located on St. Simons Island. This family-friendly home has everything you need and more than enough space to have the time of your life with family and friends. This cottage is conveniently located less than 200 steps from the beach. Enjoy being within walking distance of the sand, restaurants, and the village! Spend a day kayaking off the sandy beaches, golfing, or exploring great shops and restaurants just half a mile away. Or, check out the historical sites and art galleries, and tour the St. Simons Lighthouse Museum less than a stone's throw from this stunning home. Visit the nearby Massengale Park (half a mile away), which offers grills, a playground, two access points to East Beach, and showers.

After a day of exploration, return to a historic bungalow sporting a number of modern conveniences. An ideal retreat for large families and groups of friends, this home comes with many amazing features, including a gas grill (perfect for summertime barbecues), two dining room tables, two full kitchens, two family rooms, and two stunning decks boasting outdoor seating. Great for big families

We have a large family and usually have a hard time finding the space to accommodate all of us so that we can relax together. The 2 downstairs sitting areas as well as the upstairs living room area and its own kitchen were perfect for us!

Wonderful Home close to beach

We loved the house and location. Renting a golf cart made this the perfect location for our family. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is that the dishwasher on the lower level did not clean the dishes so we hand washed throughout the week. We would come back to this home in the future.

Great location, house needs some work

Easy to get to the beach and the cute downtown. The house itself could use some deep cleaning and the dishwasher did not get the dishes clean. We had to rewash everything by hand. Also would be helpful to have a a few written instructions on where things like outside trash cans cans were stored.

Spacious home

Great stay! Liked the space and close to most everything. You do have to drive to shops/restaurants but can walk to beach. Liked the texting feature to communicate with staff and easy check in and out.

Everything about the house was perfect for our group. It was a reasonable walk/bike ride from the beach, the house was clean and cozy, loved the fire pit, and the porches.

Excellent location

This property is located close to everything. It is a short walk to the beach, walking distance to Crab Trap, and a short drive to downtown. We had 10 people stay here and everyone had their own space and we never felt like we were cramped together. The multiple living areas are a definite plus! I would definitely recommend this property.

The home is close to restuarants and the village. Its also close to the ocean. We enjoyed our stay

Beach cottage as they used to be with updates. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Two levels with three seating areas. Our grandchildren had their own upstairs den with their own television.

Nice location, needs deep cleaning and maintenance.

It was a good location and worked for a short weekend stay with a group of 10, however the house needs a deep cleaning and a good amount of maintenance before we would ever stay again. .

Kinda wished we had more time

Didn't even realize there was an upstairs kitchen until the day we were leaving. Place is great, fit 8 grown adult men easily! We came for a golf weekend at Jekyll Island. The location was great very affordable and everything matched the listing. Would absolutely recommend this place for a family, lots to do nearby.

The house is charming; however, our biggest issue was the mold in the house. We all got headaches, sneezing, water eyes, and felt lethargic. The mold issue needs to get addressed! I called and spoke to Austin to bring air purify machines in. The management was responsive at all. I do not recommend at all.

Weekend visit to St Simons

I must agree with a previous review that was posted in May of 2020, rooms were perfect for my party but the moldy shower curtain is still there. Lighting in the house not good & several of the lamps were out. Had to figure out how to program the 2 televisions in the house. Dishwasher did not clean the dishes very well. Several of the kitchen utensils needs to be disposed of. Overall, we had a great visit & enjoyed our getaway.

Great getaway. . .just check the dishes before use

The location of the property was definitely the bright spot of the stay. The house is truly within walking distance of everything. The check-in procedure was not quite up to date or accurate, it made entering the property difficult. The cleanliness of the house was generally fine, but the refrigerator smelled like fish for the first two days and didn't get all that cold. The freezer didn't freeze anything, it was just a colder version of the fridge. The dishes generally needed to be washed before use; more than a few had remnants of food left on them. The property served its purpose and provided a place for our family to get together and spend time.

Great location but not very clean

When we arrived the cleaning crew was still there. Our towels smelled like smoke. The cleaning crew must have smoking while driving to the property. My daughter found a beer bottle under her bed. There were several other incidences of small things not being clean. The blender still had fluid in it from a prior customer. The place has "a lot" of furniture so some of the more inconspicuous areas of the house need a deeep cleaning. For example, the kids were playing hide and seek and hid under a table. She came out covered in dust.

1930s beach cottage

This listing is exactly as described with great location and perfect set up for older kids/teenagers and/or adults. In my hurry to book, I overlooked that there is no bathtub which is easier (IMO) for babies/toddlers than shower. There is also a crowded footprint and closed floor plan (hard to find a spot for the stroller/bouncy seat, pack and play & no great sight lines while Prepping a meal and keeping an eye on littles.) With older kids I imagine they would enjoy having their own space! Last, their are several entrances and for me since the exterior doors don’t have child locks - that limited us on which bedrooms we could use and ended up having toddler stay in the room with us because only other option on ground floor had a door to outside in the bedroom. The charm and history of this home is wonderful. Lots of original art and cozy places to sit. The glass porch was a favorite spot with nice light. The walk to the lighthouse and pier were short and there is a paved sidewalk. Plenty of public beach access. Beach is small at high tide if you’re new to St Simons.

Girls retreat

Our stay started out with quite the hiccup. I had been given the entry code to use on the door and it worked, but however, the door had been dead bolted from the inside after contacting management. They questioned the fact that the door was not supposed to be dead bolted, and all I needed to do was put the code in and the door would open, I tried to tell them I did that but they still acted as if I didn’t know what I was talking about. Waiting on someone to get there at least an hour and 15 minutes and then he questioned the same thing about me opening the door with the code, we showed him that it would not work . We had to wait on him to go to a warehouse to get a set of keys so that the door could be unlocked. It was 40 outside and when we got into the house finally it was 42 in the house because they had not turned the heat on . We had traveled all day and we were tired and ready to be in the house when I questioned this with the management, they did not want to really do any form of reconciliation but 50 which to me was ridiculous. Finally, they settled on the amount of 135 which to me was still not sufficient because there were 10 people involved , the house itself was nice. We just had to rewash a few dishes.

Great for a lot of people

The location was great and a short walk to town and even shorter to the beach. The house is good for a lot of people with tons of seating in several areas of the home. A few things about the amenities: The house is well stocked with glasses, plates, coffee mugs (a little too many), tons of silverware, large bowls and many other kitchen items, but no scissors. We had 9 people and stayed over Thanksgiving and had plenty of seating, baking dishes, pans and utensils, we even found a large roasting pan. They also left us a couple foil pans. They almost have too much stuff as we had difficulty finding open areas for our things. We did have to purchase all spices including salt and pepper and sugar, foil, napkins and ziplock bags. We did not have enough paper towels, garbage bags, and toilet paper as we were only left enough for part of the week. It probably would’ve been enough if we only had a few people. The management company was responsive and brought us more garbage bags, which was great. I’m only leaving 4 stars for the management company because I responded to a text they sent me offering to help anyway they can and asked how to turn the outside lights on and got a generic response telling me patio lights are operated by a switch inside the house by the door and when I said I was trying to turn the decorative light they told me “hanging lights are plugged in via a cord in an outside outlet”. It was probably a service as it was a Sunday night but we were trying to bbq and it would’ve been helpful to have a response from someone who actually knows the home. It also would’ve been nice to have a binder in the home explaining how to turn on the outdoor lights and how to work the tv and things like that. We did finally figure out the lights, there’s a switch on the deck rail by the bbq, and one by the stairs near the fire pit As for cleanliness, some utensils were dirty, kitchen drawers and cabinets were super messy and the shower curtain was moldy, but the home was vacuumed, dusted and bathrooms/kitchens were as clean as they could be for being an old house. Overall we had a great time and would stay there again, it’s a great home for a large group. The management Co. was responsive and sent texts informing us of check in/out procedures. And the two kitchens were a bonus.
