The Space:

Wake up each morning to Pacific Ocean blue at this delightful Cape Meares home, an all-seasons escape on the Northern Oregon Coast with a deck and living space that overlook the water, a firepit and a gas grill for barbecues, and easy walking access to the beach just four blocks away!



This two-level home sits within sight of the ocean on Cape Meares, just a short, gradually sloping stroll from the beautiful beach. You'll have a canoe to take out on Cape Meares Lake one block north (transportation for the canoe is not provided), as well as beach chairs and sand toys to use on the ocean shore. This home is also only three miles north of the Cape Meares Lighthouse and State Scenic Viewpoint, eight miles northwest of downtown Tillamook, and 10 miles west of the famous Tillamook Creamery.

It was an enjoyable stay but not without major inconveniences. The road to Cape Meares was closed causing an 11.6 mile detour. The water was shut off from 10:00am til 4:00pm Tuesday. Wednesday there was a boil water advisory.

Great Location, beautiful home

We loved our stay here. The neighborhood was quiet, and the view from the great room was beautiful. The home is lovely. It's laid out really well, is very clean, and comfortable. We had difficulty getting into the house on check-in. Our code didn't work. We had to use the key to get in and out and had a lot of difficulty with the deadbolt slipping when we tried to lock and unlock the door. The mattresses also should be replaced; they sagged in the middle.

Nice but…

The property was nice and clean and location was great! But it was not well stocked. We had a group of 6 and there was only one kitchen trash bag, a tiny dish soap and very minimal seasonings. We had to make a trip back to Tillamook to restock basics which was really frustrating for a short get away. Also the tv was unusable other than very old VHS, no cable and a few apps that wouldn’t load. It was a bummer for kids in a rainy day. With a few upgrades it would be a lovely spot.

Good location for visiting the Oregon Capes

Quiet neighborhood, clean 2 bedroom house. Worked great for 2 couples. Well furnished, but did not have laundry detergent or Kleenex Has a television, but could not connect to anything to watch. Needs instructions for guests.

Clean and as described

Real easy to check in. They had most of the basics there dish soap, new sponge, dish detergent and laundry detergent.

Loved the house and neighborhood but …

The house was lovely, the neighborhood was great. We called for assistance with the TV and the technician that came wore his shoes in the house they were muddy and left muddy prints on the carpet that we had to clean up. It was really disappointing that he wasn’t aware of the no shoe policy in the house we didn’t recognize the mud on the shoes until after he left.

Personal Beach

First family trip to the Oregon Coast! Splendid! We loved, loved our stay in Cape Meares and felt like we had our own personal beach. The home was lovely. Went to Short Beach, the lighthouse, Munson Creek Falls, the Blue Heron, and Tilamook Creamery. Enjoyed it all!

The house was as advertised on the website to a T . Great location and very comfortable. Great view of the ocean from the deck. A short walk to the beach. The property management could pay closer attention to the cleanliness. Although it wasn’t bad, it could have been better. Will be back again.

Great house; mediocre management

This property is in a beautiful spot and is basically as described in the listing--it's a great place to spend a relaxing vacation on the Oregon Coast. That said, the property management leaves a bit to be desired. The problem started when I didn't receive a code to get into the property. I sent the manager a message through VRBO about 36 hours before the beginning of the reservation and didn't get a response. Then I got a text message (purporting to be from the manager) saying that the house had been cleaned. I responded to the text, asking about the code, but still didn't get a reply. It took about 45 minutes on the phone with VRBO (a few hours before we were going to leave town) to sort out that mess. Once we got to the property, there were only a few small problems. First, the instructions we got from the manager contained the wrong wifi password. I again responded to the text message asking about the wifi, but received only silence in response (eventually we discovered a small piece of paper in the dining room with the correct password). The property was advertised as including a DVD player. There were actually 2 DVD players, both of which were broken. While mildly annoying (given the price we paid), these problems certainly didn't prevent us from having a great time. I'm left with the impression that this is a pure investment property, with contract management that isn't particularly focused on the guest experience. That's not to say you shouldn't rent this place--it's comfortable and the location can't be beat. But if you have a choice between this and a comparable property that's owner-managed, go with the other one.

Perfect place to spend Spring Break!

Our family of six (My wife and I and four children) stayed here for Spring Break (late March) 2018. The home met or exceeded our expectations. The location within a few blocks of the beach and adjacent to the forest is amazing. There were deer traipsing through the yard and a herd of elk bedded down in a meadow nearby. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked and spacious. If you plan to watch many movies, make sure to bring your own DVDs or use the RedBox in town. The in-home DVD library has only a few movies, but there are ten or twelve VHS tapes (mostly classic Disney animated features) as well.

Enjoyable Stay

Friends and I stayed at this home and had a very enjoyable weekend! Town is quiet and beach is beautiful! Wonderful area to walk around nature....but quite far to restaurants, but for secluded area this is sweet! Not updated, but windows everywhere which is my favorite!

Quite Beach house.

I needed a local place to stay while working in Cape Mears and this was a great option. I was able to come back after a day working on my lot and feeling like I was coming home in terms of being able to have all of the amenities of home. The garage was great too: I did not have to worry about leaving my tools and toys out at night. While there was no TV reception and the bedding was a little tired, overall it was a very comfortable week.

Had a great time. House was clean and very cozy. The only downfall is there were additional guests on the kitchen counters . . . sugar ants. Loved the view from the deck. The house in front blocks a little bit, but you can still see a great view. Would definitely stay again. Thanks for letting my family into your home.
