The home is situated about eight miles from Tillamook and Cape Meares State Park, which offers hiking and the Cape Meares Lighthouse. Cape Meares proper is a quaint, quiet residential town with no services, but restaurants and shops are close by in both Oceanside and Tillamook. Popular activities include fishing, crabbing, and kayaking in Tillamook Bay, and Three Arch Rocks National Wildlife Refuge provides views of tufted puffins and Stellar sea lions.
