The Space:

Live that oceanfront lifestyle here in Rockaway Beach and let this classic beach cottage steal your heart. Though this getaway boasts that nostalgic feel of simpler times, there will be no need to sacrifice any comforts of home on this vacation. The salty air will immediately greet you and your guests as you step outside to the furnished deck, so take your morning coffee or evening glass of wine out and soak up the picturesque views of the Pacific Ocean. When mealtimes come around, the chef of the group will be in paradise knowing that a fully equipped kitchen awaits boasting all of the appliances of home and stellar views of the waves. When nights come to a close, the Smart TV in the living room will provide more than enough entertainment as the sound of the tide lulls everyone to sleep.

The beachgoers of the group will be spoiled on this vacation, as a path leads directly from the beach door to the soft sand and crashing waves that simply cannot be beaten. Great windows (and blinds) to view the ocean from Twin Rocks to Cape Falcon. The Beach is off back lawn but 15 ft down rock riprap protecting shoreline. The public beach access is one house over but there, the rocks are just layered as steps. No landary. No dishwasher so wished I'd brought paper plates and disposable silverware. Fabulous knives but kitchen was otherwise adequate but showing age: hole in countertop and refrigerator had self broken off the door and drawer busted. Microwave was tiny and so high; everytime opened the door it scape the shelf it was on. Dining table and chairs where falling appart and we had to be very careful with them. Surprising how clean it felt even though flooring is over 50 years old and showing wear. Replacing flooring from family room through to kitchen in single continuous flooring would go a long way to elevate the aesthetics and comfront. Lastly the heat pump didn’t work, as had been stated by other reviews, but electric wall units in bedrooms and bathroom room helped along with the substitute oil-fillied portable radiator - it just took a few days to get house warm. All that said this is not for everyone but we had a wonderful time and would stay there again; hopeful to find a few things fixed.

Wonderful Stay

We had a great time staying at the house. It was great that they allowed dogs as well. Loved the close access to the beach. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Anniversary beach vacation.

The location had everything we wanted. It was right on the beach, in a quiet area, and plenty of room for the 2 of us. It was perfect for our 3 day getaway.

Great little cottage. Wonderful views and nice to be able to have our dogs.

Would stay again. I've been to Rockaway before with large family group. But if you have 4 people and dogs it is great.

Perfect getaway

This was truly the perfect little place for our family to stay. Super close to beach access (but not easy/handicap accessible fyi) plus Lake lytle. Far enough from "downtown " to avoid the lil bit of chaos there.

Our week at the beach

We were charmed with this little cottage, no frills but a cute place with everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing week at the beach with three children and dog. Short walk to town for ice cream. Access to beach was the best part.

The stay was pretty great. The house itself could use some minor updating but it was perfect for my needs. The beds were so comfortable I regretted not stay multiple nights. Hearing the sound of the ocean and having the beach in the backyard was amazing.

Breakers a sweet vacation

It was exactly what we asked for...the perfect beach bungalow for two (or four); loved being on the beach and enjoyed relaxing on the deck and watching the sea, right in front of us...it doesn't get better than that; very comfortable, good tv, wonderful night sleeps on good mattress; shower a bit of a challenge; perfect location close to town.

Right on the ocean!

This place was perfect for a long weekend with my Mom. The weather wasn't great, but we could sit in really comfortable chairs in the living room and watch the waves. Everything was neat, and the house was stocked with everything we needed. I will for sure be returning!

The location is absolutely amazing. We had a great and relaxing 2 nights at the Breakers. The pictures are accurate and the price per night reflects the “rusticness” of the place;) Everything worked well and was very clean and warm. Kitchen was well equipped. The sunrises and sunsets are fantastic.
