Perfect setup for large groups

Crisp, clean, and comfortable home with plenty of room for entertaining. Dinner table holds 12 people! Fantastic location near the beach and Salty Dog. Highly recommend this property.

However, there is extensive mold growth on the vents on the ceilings. We didn’t notice it until the end of our stay and by that time two of our children (ages 4 and 13) developed nasty coughs. Had we noticed earlier we would not have stayed at this property.

Here to report this has been cleaned, sealed, and taken care of! This guest is correct that there was a bit of mildew, which is common in the summer here when doors are left open and warm air mixes with cool air. We do our best to stay on top of it!

The home accommodated 12 people very comfortably, with plenty of space to spread out. The home was in excellent condition, well appointed, and IMMACULATE. With a pool in the yard and a very short walk to the beach, the location was perfect. The pictures on the website are accurate, you will not be disappointed. Hilton Head Island has so many activities, it's easy to keep children and adults happy. We're looking forward to a repeat of this family vacation in the future!

FAMILY REUNION/50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY PARTY

Reviewer Comments: We rented 9 Wren Drive for our family reunion because it had enough bedrooms for all the attending families including a bunk room for our four toddlers. AND it was WALKING DISTANCE to Tower Beach eliminating the need to put all the toddlers into carseats and drive to a beach location. ALSO the heated pool was an exquisite addition to the package. The Kitchen/Dining area was large and well stocked with all pots, pans, appliances, utensils with both UN-breakable and breakable dinnerware options. While there we had a catered Anniversary Party and the home was perfect for that with lots of internal space for a buffet and serving trays and platters. Everyone who stayed at 9 Wren Drive with us felt that the property was PERFECT for the occasion. Thank you for accommodating our party and making us feel welcome.

Poor Management

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this home and paid in advance ($250 for 3days) for the pool to be heated. When we arrived, the pool was not heated. We waited a day, still no heat. I called management and emailed. No response to the email, although my call was returned. I was told the pool company forgot to heat the pool. No offer to have it turned on for the remainder of our stay and no confirmation of a refund. It was a bummer because the weather was cool for May and the kids would have enjoyed the pool (it was ice cold). After we returned home I did receive a refund and a coupon for $150 off a future stay (no thanks). The home is in a good location. The kitchen is very outdated. It’s too bad the management doesn’t have a handle in the pool situation and didn’t take care of the pool issue in a timely manner. Overpriced for the experience and location.

Readers, these are the facts: We request that pool heating be ordered at least 7 days prior to arrival. Ms. Pieper initially declined pool heating, but later requested heating 3 days prior to her arrival date of May 25. At 10:04 AM on May 26, we called her mobile number with our "well check" and left a voicemail, and received no reply. On May 27, we received her angry email regarding her dislike of the appliances and in particular the dishwasher soap dispenser that had not opened during the wash cycle. She did not request assistance. May 27 was the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and one of the worst weather days on record-- temps in the upper 50's with wind and rain. On May 28 (3 days after arrival) Ms. Pieper called our after hours line to say that according to the pool cleaning tech, apparently the pool heater not been turned on at all. I received this voicemail myself and called her back immediately to say that we would investigate, but of course she would not be charged. But no matter-- we HAD ordered the pool heat turned on, and somehow, the pool company confirmed YES, then neglected to put it on their schedule. We did not know this until May 28, and guest departure was scheduled for May 29. She was never charged as we were able to void before posting. We did speak to her and explain the VERY extraordinary circumstance of the pool company "forgetting" and offered sincere apology. Perhaps she thinks she emailed us earlier, and if she had called or emailed on the 26th or even the 27th, I could have gotten emergency service for heater turn on. We do not have any such email. Further, we did NOT email her with a refund (as there was never a charge) nor a $150 credit for future stay. I would never offer a future stay voucher to an displeased guest.
