Our intimate 1 bedroom is a 9-min walk to downtown or 3 min drive to beach. Cool vibe w/shades of blue & gold. Private patio w/comfy chairs to enjoy garden views. KING size bed, HDTV, kitchenette w/cooking necessities, Keurig, nicely sized bathroom with toiletries and towels, in-suite W/D, beach chairs & towels.

Perfect for kicking back, enjoying a book & listening to your favorite tune. Heron’s Hideaway has a nautical appearance with light blue walls accented with creamy white trim. Once inside you are immersed in the rustic elegant ambiance that seamlessly blends a casually comfortable look with urbane sophistication. My talented souse decorated with a tropical flair and 🌊 beach flourishes including vibrantly colored art, and other colorful embellishments.

The perfect place to stay and right in the center of everything! Walkable distance to the downtown area, seconds from Fort Clinch State Park and just a few minutes from Main Beach. This place had everything we needed and more!

We so enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this to any couple staying near downtown Fernandina. You are able to walk from this ABNB. Easy and very well put together for this smaller space. It has everything you need for a quick weekend getaway or a weeks stay.

Heron Hideaway is little paradise! The location was perfect and the place itself is beautiful. Relaxing and so well done. We loved being there. The hosts are so kind and always available. I can't imagine a better place to stay in Fernandina Beach. We highly recommend this and would definitely come back here on our next trip to Amelia Island!

Heron’s Hideaway is a tranquil beach escape that exudes charm. Steeped in history and natural beauty, Amelia Island, Florida is the southernmost jewel of the Sea Island chain of barrier islands off the southeastern coast of the United States. Pristine, uncrowded beaches envelop the island’s east side which is only a three-minute drive. I give 100% credit to my talented wife on how Heron’s Hideaway was decorated! With a king-size bed and elegant furnishings, Heron’s Hideaway is complemented by a spacious bathroom with a terrific, oversized shower! Down duvet, plush robes and slippers, Eco Botanics bath products and comfy sheets satisfy the senses on every level!

This was one of the best vrbo rentals I have ever stayed in. It was clean, very well decorated, and well thought out. Our hosts were wonderful and available for questions. We were less than a mile from old town and all the Amelia/Fernadina hot spots. If we ever make it back we will seek this spot out as our number one choice.

Excellently located on main road between public beaches and the Historic District, Herons Hideaway is pefect for a couples getaway. Extremely comfortable King bed, kick-butt AC, great shower. Converted garage beside beautiful home, privacy was good! Covered carport. Loved the decorative touches. Immediate access to ALL the streamers and great WiFi. Awesome pool, very private. Beautifully landscaped backyard, birdfeeders brought in lots of lovely visitors. No regrets for our stay. Hosts were responsive when needed.

What impressed me the most about this trip was the communications from the owner. I am 100% combat disabled and have a service animal... Peter was EXCELLENT about communicating with us and making sure we were well cared for, from start to finish. He was kind and caring and attended our needs. Everything was exactly the way it was described in the listing. The backyard was under construction, so we didn't get a chance to use the pool, but that was fine! Steps away from the center of town and all the lovely shops. Loved the trip.

Look no further for a wonderful stay in a very fun area of Florida! This property is so well maintained and Heron’s Hideaway is just as pictured- they thought of everything! Short walk to the Historic area of town with great food, live entertainment and shopping! Short drive to the beautiful beach! The hosts are wonderful and provided a lot of informative information about the area! Highly recommend the Ameilia River Cruise and visiting Clinch State park to see the fort and hunt for shark’s teeth on the beach! Palace Saloon and The Green Turtle for great live music. Salty Pelican also great food and cool vibe! T-Rays for breakfast was a hit with biscuits as big as the plate! Also Garden Bistro is a wonderful place for specialty dishes for breakfast! Will definitely stay here again and loved the outdoor area around the pool as it is so relaxing and beautiful!

What a terrific 😊 guest experience at Heron’s Hideaway! That 3 minute 🚗 drive to the beach 🏖️are always a joy for us too! Karen and I are frequent VRBO travelers ourselves. I can’t tell you how many times I had to do research on what is available nearby when we check in. By the time I figured it out we were leaving. So, we made a point to share “to do” info so guests can focus on options available. Appreciate that you uploaded pictures too! I told Karen we need to 🍽️ eat out more often LOL! Our home is NOT a full-time rental. Instead, we have renovated Heron's Hideaway for family, making it available when they visit. Amelia Island is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, Intracoastal Waterway, Nassau Sound and one of the East’s largest and deepest inlets, ⛵Cumberland Sound. Edged with natural Appalachian quartz beaches and framed by sand dunes. Amelia Island's shores have long been a source of beauty. And, the ocean's average temperature during the summer? A welcoming 82 degrees. What are you waiting for? Grab your towel and sunscreen and we'll see you on the beach!
