The "Darling Duplex" in South Haven, Michigan accommodates up to twelve guests in two separate units or apartments under one roof. Each of the two, side by side units has two floors, a fully stocked kitchen and living room. The north unit can accommodate up to six guests in two bedrooms located on the second floor. One bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has two double beds. The north unit has one full bathroom on the second floor and one half bathroom on the first floor. The south unit can accommodate up to eight guests in beds. The entire duplex, meaning both north and south apartments are rented to single families at one time. Please note that at no time shall the total capacity in the house or on the property exceed twelve guests over two years of age. The south unit has one bedroom conveniently located on the first floor with a queen bed. The second bedroom in the south unit is located on the second floor and has two double beds. There is also a sitting room on the second floor of the south unit that has a twin bed and a roll out twin trundle bed. There is a spacious back yard with a large picnic table and covered patio for outdoor dining and relaxation. Four off street parking spaces are provided. Please note that this home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. We ask that our guests please keep voice and music levels to a minimum at all times. We do not allow any parties or gatherings at any time. Please keep this in mind when considering this property for you vacation rental. We appreciate your consideration! I am a resident of Glenview, Illinois however I have been vacationing in South Haven my entire life. My great grandmother owned a home in the North Beach neighborhood in the 1940s and 1950s. My mother would spend her childhood summers with her grandmother at her home in South Haven. My parents would take us every year to South Haven for our family vacations. Crossing the draw bridge felt like running down the stairs to open presents on Christmas morning. My parents retired and move to South Haven full time. My wife and I got engaged on the North Beach and married at St. Basil's Church in South Haven. Our four children have spent their summer vacations in South Haven. Our children, now in their 20's are the fifth generation of our family visiting and loving South Haven!

The neighborhood is small town Americana at it's best. The fourth of July parade feels like you are in a Norman Rockwell painting. Our favorite thing to do is go to the beach after breakfast, have lunch on the beach, swim, read, relax, reconnect, etc. then dinner back at the house, get ice cream for dessert and then back down to the beach for sunset. South Haven sunsets are spectacular! And be patient and stick around because the "after glow", which is when the sun lights up the underside of the clouds, can be just as beautiful as the sunset. Mother nature at her best. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

This property is unique as it is a duplex which is two separate units or apartments under one roof. The front porch, front yard and back yard are all connected and shared spaces. Each of the apartments has two stories. The north unit has two bedrooms located on the second floor and 1.5 bathrooms. The south unit has one bedroom on the first floor which is great for those guests that do not do well on stairs. The south unit has a second bedroom with two double beds as well as a sitting or family room located on the second floor. There is a tv in the sitting room which is ideal for kids who enjoy video games or watching their own movies. Having two kitchens allows the early risers to make their coffee without disturbing anyone. Also, the young adults can make a midnight snack, etc. Divide and conquer yet still be together!
