Alaska Lakeside Cottage

NEW vacation rental! A peaceful lakeside retreat on the shores of beautiful Bear Lake, just minutes from downtown Seward. This unique property sleeps (9) and offers two separate living spaces that are always rented together, giving your group room to spread out while still enjoying the entire property.

The first floor features one bedroom (king bed), one bathroom, full kitchen and living room with queen sofa sleeper and walkout deck with a grill. The second story of the property has its own entrance with two bedrooms (one with a queen, and the other with a queen and a twin), one bathroom, cozy living area, kitchenette and a balcony. Laundry is located off of the front deck with a separate entrance.

This private retreat features direct access to the lake, so bring your water toys! (non provided). A 10 min drive to the Seward boat harbor and downtown, this property with its front and back deck to enjoy the views, fire pit near the lake, and walk in lake access -- this property is perfect for outdoor relaxation.

We do encourage guests to refrain from cooking fish inside the unit; however, we do provide a grill for outdoor cooking of your local catch. We do not allow processing of fish on property. There is no fishing in Bear Lake. The owner, Austin, has a woodworking shop adjacent to the house that he works from during the day from time to time. If you see him, feel free to say hello!

As a free resource, my husband Clay, a local boat captain, and I are here to answer questions or help you book the perfect excursion to explore Seward and the surrounding Kenai Fjords National Park. We offer discounts on many tours to our guests.

From the Seward train depot, this home is located a short taxi ride away, or a 2.5 hour scenic drive from the Anchorage airport. Please make sure you read our directions to the property, as GoogleMaps will get you lost.

Absolutely beautiful location right on the lake—it truly took our breath away. The views were incredible, and being directly on the water made the setting feel especially peaceful and picturesque. It’s also conveniently located just a short, easy drive from downtown Seward, which made it easy to explore the area while still feeling tucked away and secluded.

Beautiful property my family and I enjoyed it immensely walking down to the lake sitting out on the back porch downstairs in the bottom suite and upstairs on the top suite very interesting how it separated actually is great if you have two families traveling together, which we did

We absolutely loved this cabin! Kylee was a wonderful host, kind, friendly, helpful, professional & responsive. She made great suggestions on things to do so we took her advice & booked a fjord boat tour with Wild Fjord Tours & it was wonderful!! We also visited Kenai Fjords National Park & did some of the hikes recommended & so enjoyed this suggestion too. This cabin is adorable, spotlessly clean, plenty of nice towels, comfortable mattresses, well-stocked kitchen & beautiful views of the lake. We truly loved this cabin & loved renting from Kylee & will definitely stay here again!

This property was the perfect place to be close enough to town but far enough away for some peaceful downtime. We are a family of 5 with the youngest is 22. The property offered plenty of space for us all. The amenities were plentiful and the decor was so colorful. We had a great time and would recommend this place to all.

We had both suites of this cabin and it was perfect for our family. It is in a great location tucked away in the woods on a beautiful, quiet lake, but still close to town. The cabin is clearly professionally cleaned and stocked. We had more than what we needed, including a fully stocked kitchen and ample clean towels. The laundry facilities were great and there was detergent provided. We had a bonfire and they provided wood and supplies to make that happen easily. The cabin is very charming and was obviously a labor of love with high quality work and well thought out details. We highly recommend this property and would certain stay there again!

What a beautiful place to stay! It was perfect for our two families traveling together. We got to stay together and yet separate because this cabin is like a duplex: it is two cabins with separate kitchens and living areas, yet connected and booked as one house. It was very clean and furnished well. I loved the decor! The location was great. It was close to the activities we had planned in Seward, and yet the location felt secluded and I loved that. On the first morning we were there, we got to see moose right in front of the house! A mom and baby moose were within 10 feet of our window. Love the walkway to the water. Host was great at communication, and was kind enough to mail us an item that we forgot at the house. Definitely recommend and would love to stay here again if we went back to Seward.

The place was clean and as advertised. The view was amazing and the property leading down to the lake was maintained and accessible. The property delivered on what was advertised and having both the upstairs and downstairs unit provided plenty of space for our group.
