The townhouse was comfortable, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The entire environment was peaceful, welcoming, and perfect for unwinding. We truly appreciated the attention to detail and the pride the owners take in providing a great experience for their guests.

Upon entering the unit, we immediately noticed a strong mildew odor through the home. As we inspected the property, we found mildew & discoloration in the upstairs bathrooms, cracked & damaged floor tiles, dirt & debris on the floors, food residue on dining chairs, a dirty toilet, rust on the stovetop, deteriorated window seating, damaged & rotting wood on the balconies, wood rot around window frames, & a loose, partially detached exterior light fixture. There were numerous signs of deferred maintenance throughout the property, suggesting it had not been properly maintained over time.While any single issue might not have caused us to leave, the combination of cleanliness concerns, maintenance issues, & the persistent mildew odor made us uncomfortable staying in the home.After documenting the condition with photographs, we contacted the property management company & made the difficult decision to secure alternate accommodations. We did not stay in the property because the condition we encountered did not align with the listing photos or our expectations when booking.One of the more disappointing aspects of our experience was being told that the mildew odor was due to the nearby pond. However, the smell was only inside the townhouse. The property mgt company initially indicated we would be reimbursed for one night's stay; but we only received only a portion of that amount. We then contacted VRBO, which reviewed our case. They were not able to get any more from the host.
