We stayed at this property for 6 nights with family and friends over Thanksgiving 23'. While the home is large, it's got an odd floorplan with four bedrooms that require going outside and down a few flights of stairs. We spent most of our time at the house in the main living room and outside by the pool. In general, the house feels old and dated, and not in a good way. It's clear that the owner/property manager do not invest in maintaining the property as they should. The kitchen was in the worst shape, with broken cabinets, faucets, and tons of empty cupboards. Many patches of tile falling off of the outdoor area around the pool including the pool, hot tub, bbq and bar area. Many items are broken, damaged, or do not work.
The ruined Thanksgiving meal:
On the day of check-in, we messaged the Cabovillas that the oven was not turning on. On Monday, three days before Thanksgiving, one of the burners turned on (gas flowing) and would not turn off. The housekeeper turned off the gas to the stove/oven. With daily follow-ups and explaining the urgency of the matter, the stove was not replaced until the day after Thanksgiving. We ended up going out to Hacienda restaurant for our Thanksgiving meal and washing away our sorrows with margaritas!
The housekeepers were there daily, and he did his best, but ultimately it's the job of Cabovillas/property manager to make sure it's in good shape for their guests. This was far below the 14k price point.
