Welcome to the historic Emily Filer Home, a beautifully renovated 5-bedroom, 2-bath residence originally built in 1880 and thoughtfully updated for modern comfort. Perfectly located just blocks from downtown Ludington and the shores of Lake Michigan, this home offers the ideal blend of historic character and walkable convenience.

After a full day of exploring, return home to prepare a meal in the fully equipped kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances, or fire up the gas grill on the deck. As evening sets in, unwind on the patio with your favorite drink and gather around the fire pit for relaxed conversation.

Take an easy walk to Red Rooster Coffee for your morning brew, or head to Blu Moon on James Street for a local favorite—yes, the famous Lobster Nachos. Continue your adventure along the Ludington Marina walking paths and Waterfront Park, a favorite spot for kids. From May through September, the popular Thursday and Friday Farmer's Market at Legacy Plaza is just a 10-minute walk away.

Great Stay in Ludington

My family had a wedding in town and needed a place in Ludington. This house was great. Large kitchen and living room accommodated my family very well. The location was within walking distance to many shops and restaurants.

My daughter got married this weekend and the house was perfect. The bedrooms downstairs were big enough for all the girls to get ready in one big room. The kitchen was stacked with brand new dishes and glasses. The towels were like new we couldn’t have asked for a better location or a better stay

Great weekend get away

We had a very nice time staying at this property. Plenty of room for everyone and very clean. We enjoyed the large kitchen and being able to use the grill. Able to walk into town for shopping and ice cream. Would stay here again.

Great weekend getaway

Our stay in the home was wonderful. It has so much historical charm and updated nicely. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds where cozy and a nice fenced yard for the dog. I would Definitely return again.

Fun Stay in Ludington

We enjoyed our stay at the Emily Foster House. It was very clean and had enough beds and space for our extended family and dog. It’s made for a great family vacation. While we didn’t do any big cooking, but it seemed well equipped for that. Nice walk to town and a coffee shop.

Conveniently located near downtown Ludington without the noise of being in the city when trying to relax. It was very clean and has been modernized. Good creature comforts like air conditioners, fridge, and smart OLED TV. Good number of spices, dishes and cutlery. The owner was very responsive and accommodating. The staircases were too steep for at least one of my guests and the bathrooms were a bit small, but it is a historic home so that can be expected.

Very clean and nicely appropriated property. Great location - walkable to downtown in a very quiet residential neighborhood. We had a small dog so the fenced yard was very helpful. Guests may want to know that the AC is not central air but units in various rooms. The downstairs small bathroom with shower does not have AC -- the window can open for ventilation. Bedrooms were large. We love Ludington!

Perfect!

This was the perfect home for our extended family vacation!! 9 slept very comfortably and kitchen/dining area was big enough for all 13 of us on the trip to gather, eat, play games & make wonderful memories! The home was close enough for a nice walk into town. The beach & lighthouse were a quick drive or good walk away, and the State park was just a 15 minute drive. We would definitely recommend this home for a perfect family getaway!!

Awesome location

We really loved this spacious, historical home. It worked well and had plenty of room for 3 adults and 3 young children (age 6 & under). We used the kitchen regularly for cooking and found it to be well-supplied with the basic items needed for cooking and baking. We loved the piano on the front porch and my kids spent a lot of time running up and down the two staircases that connect the first and 2nd floors. The property is clean and very close to the downtown, but it is also close enough to the state park to make multiple trips between naptimes. The property owner is responsive and helpful. Really couldn't recommend this charming place more!

Lodging for Family Reunion

We really enjoyed staying in this house. It was very roomy, updated, and had unique character. Each couple had their own room and privacy. Our parents live in Ludington but all of us siblings are spread around the nation. This house allowed us all to visit with each other when we weren’t at our mom’s- with all the kids- which is not possible if we had separate hotel rooms. Only recommendation I would have is to include the “host fee“ and other fees in the “price per night“ listing. Since we were sharing the cost, but only one of us doing the booking, it was uncomfortable to tell them the price was $700 a night and not $500 like I said when I asked if they wanted to stay together and split the cost. sti jrooms.
