Create lasting vacation memories at this beautiful and rustic cabin which backs up to Tahoe National Forest. This is the perfect place for a large group of friends or a family reunion as there is plenty of space to spread out and relax. The dining area and breakfast nook offer the ideal space for gathering or you can head out to the deck and barbecue on warm summer evenings. Upstairs includes a loft and a wood-burning fireplace to enjoy while relaxing on the couch. In any season, this cabin will provide fun for everyone!



Come experience all that South Lake Tahoe has to offer including Heavenly Valley Ski Resort, just seven miles away for year-round fun. The shores of Emerald Bay are ready for a fun picnic just a short 12 miles away, visit the famous South Lake casinos, or enjoy the fine dining, shopping, and nightlife.

Great stay

Perfect house for our recent ski trip. 15 minutes from heavenly and 35 from Kirkwood. Two living areas was a nice bonus. Plenty of sleeping space.

Great location for Heavenly resort

Our stay was comfortable and perfect for our needs. My only other comment is that the pantry could have been better stocked — there was no cooking oil for making meals in the kitchen.

We loved the way the cabin was decorated. It included all the supplies we needed, even chairs for our trips to the lake. There are balconies to relax and appreciate the scenery. We enjoyed a wonderful week at this cabin.

Great & Comfy Home

We loved this home. It is beautiful, comfy and cozy, it accommodated our needs greatly. The beds are comfortable and the rooms nice. The kitchen well-stocked and the showers were great. We loved that we could walk outside and play in the snow. The house is about 5 minutes away from the city, so it was pretty quite which we enjoyed. Overall great home, we definitely recommend it.

Just what we needed!

The Cherry Retreat was a home away from home! This beautiful tri-level cabin had so much space to relax and make good memories. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked, and the rain shower an extra bonus. We so enjoyed the views out to the trees and the lovely walk through the meadow to the river. This quiet location was perfect with the stores and beaches just minutes away. My family had a great time here and wouldn’t hesitate to book a stay in the future!

Amazing!

If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, this home is perfect! We woke up to bears and coyotes in the back yard on 2 of our 3 days there. It was wonderful backing up to the forest and watching the bears climb trees and the coyotes pounce as they were hunting. Just a short drive to the city life and shopping, ice skating and the Gondola. The home was clean and very well stocked with anything you might need. We will definitely keep the Cherry Retreat at the top of our list for future visits!

Good quiet area

Property was large and well equipped. Only issue was the oven had a fault and did not work which was disappointing. Other issue is bears in the area. We woke up to a bear opening our car door and had to spook it away. Make sure you lock your doors and keep good indoors.

NIce getaway

The picture of the house needs to be updated. We pulled up and I was expecting a brown house with what looks like a green trim but was surprised the house had been painted. I mean it looks really nice but it was unexpected and I got yelled at for "putting the wrong address and getting us lost" hehe. Besides that, the house was as advertised. We enjoyed it and had a good time. Thank you for hosting!

Bring your kitchen stuff

The property was nice but there were many things missing. We had 10 people staying 3 nights. All the things that were missing No Can opener( it was there,but broken) No wine opener No wine glasses No sharp knives No Spices Only 2 dishwashing pods for the whole stay No Pot holders No dish towels only 1/2 a roll of paper towels (we had to buy more) The toilet paper is one level up from sand paper. The king size bed was comfortable but everyone else said their beds were very uncomfortable. The location is nice and feels somewhat private. If you like to cook bring everything you need.

Wonderful for our family!

The house was in wonderful condition. Everything was spotless when we arrived (not so much when we left!) The house was well stocked with all the essentials and there were plenty of towels for the family. There was a roku set up on all three TVs which kept the kiddos entertained. There was also a good supply of firewood which made for several romantic nights with the wife. It seemed like the owners had really thought of everything. The location is amazing! The house is situated at the end of the roadway and backs up to forest land. There is only a neighbor on one side and that house is far enough away that you don't really notice them. The house is only about 5 minutes from "the y" and all the shopping essentials. Also... A great pizza spot called "bob dog" offers free delivery to the house. We are looking forward to returning next year!

We stayed as 2 families with 4 kids (10yo and under) for a ski trip during the holidays. I expected more for the (inflated holiday) price we paid. Would not stay again, would not recommend. PROs: - Location - Both bathrooms had a separate heating unit + floors were heated. That was a very nice surprise and much appreciated in the December cold - King bed was comfortable. - kitchen well stocked with plates, bowls, cups. plenty of seating amongst main dining table, couple of bar stools and separate smaller table in the kitchen. - found several sleds in garage CONs: - required in-person check-in!! Is this a Vacasa thing? This alone would be a reason for us to NOT rebook. - Kitchen: first impression was that it just appeared outdated and dark. Looked better in the pictures. Everything worked, and counter was updated, so maybe it was just the cabinets that could use updating. Most of the pots and pans were scratched up, sunny side up egg turned into scrambled eggs; found some salt but that's about it for seasoning; felt kid-friendly utensils were lacking - Upstairs shower was nicely redone BUT water was either hot or cold, no in between. Needs fixing - Was informed both queens beds on the ground floor were uneven, something was off with the frames. - Garage : very tight fit for 1 mini van and 1 SUV. Very cluttered with stuff on both sides - dining are and living room felt so dark, could use better lighting - TP was thin and scratchy. Can't you at least provide Kirkland brand?
