The Space:

Looking for a mountain adventure base? This charming vacation rental sits on just over a half-acre, right by the Sandy River! The huge back deck has a dining table, hammock, gas grill, and a private hot tub! Relax your sore muscles while you stare up at the stars. Cook BBQ on the grill. The location is convenient yet secluded - nestled in the woods blocks from Welches and an easy drive to nearby ski lifts, this cabin is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts! The surrounding mountains provide excellent hiking and biking trails, plus the Sandy River, which is easily accessible via a path in the backyard, is a beautiful place to lounge, fish, or enjoy the sights! Lake Trillium is about 16 miles from here, and you'll find incredible views of Mt. Hood! Other great mountain towns like Government Camp and Rhododendron are nearby. Plus, if you feel like driving to Portland, it's just 45 miles away!



With high, triangular ceilings, exposed wood, and forest-friendly furnishings, this A-frame vacation home feels like a ski cabin in the woods! The living room is open and relaxing with soft leather sofas, a TV, and a woodstove to warm your toes! The tall windows provide natural light. The designated chef will adore the kitchen with full amenities, including a dishwasher and a lovely view from the sink. Spend some time here whipping up a delicious meal for your group, or break out some appetizers while you chat over the breakfast bar! The fun continues with a second living space with high ceilings, a TV, more fabulous seating, and superb views of the surrounding forest.



The primary bedroom is luxurious and spacious, with a large closet and a private entryway to the back deck. There's even a vast half-bathroom for your convenience. The bunk room, with a desk and shelving space, is ideal for the kids.



With a stereo, Blu-Ray, and WiFi, everyone will stay entertained no matter what time of day; there's also a private washer/dryer.

We loved the location, and the decks and hot tub. The upstairs bedroom on the back side of the house with the bonus living room was great for hanging with our young kids early in the morning without waking the whole house.

Perfect mix of amenities for us. My girls loved the hot tub, it was a nice walk to the river where it was shallow enough to play and the rooms were nice.

Overall the place was amazing. Slept 7 no problem.The house was nice but we spent more time outside (obviously). Hottub worked great. Exploring the river and behind the cabin took up a morning. There is a million things to do in the surronding area. Highly recommend River Drifters. Us and the kids enjoyed it. We would come back anytime.

Outstanding home away from home

We enjoyed everything about Stone’s throw! The short hike to the water, basketball, corn hole and the evenings were spectacular out on the back deck! The hammock was a big hit too:)

nice spot

overall the cabin was what is shown. the road into the neighborhood was really rough to drive on with a sedan, lots of potholes filled with bricks but otherwise a nice spot. grocery store and gas station are 2 mins away which was very convenient. the house had everything we needed and had lots of space for entertainment. the river area is beautiful and the hot tub was very clean!

Great spot

Loved our stay here. The view from upstairs was beautiful, there is a river that’s a short walk from the house that was awesome. We could hear the rushing water from the house. Kitchen area was roomy, we had a great stay. Thank you for sharing your home.

Cabin Trip

The location was perfect, the cabin had everything that was needed. The main highlights were the hot tub and its location and the easy access to view the river. The only issue is the shower head upstairs did not work which was inconvenient especially with a house full of girls and the check out was super early, tried to ask for a later but was told they could not accommodate, other than it’s a great cabin to stay in and checked most of the boxes

Birthday Celebration

To celebrate my 2 and Fiftieth birthday, I wanted a long weekend away with my adult children and extended family and it was perfect in every way. The layout of the house is perfect, it was spotless (even under the beds when playing indoor hide and seek), and Vacasa was responsive and helpful with any questions.The beds were all comfortable, the heating system kept us all warm and toasty, the hot tub was clean and the perfect temperature. The downstairs family room was a perfect place to lounge and play games at the big table. Great memories and would 100% come back!

Nice setup, but furnishings and amenities need TLC

The layout of the house worked great for our family. Hot tub and proximity to the river are a plus. However, we found the furnishings, fixtures, bedding, and kitchen equipment to be in generally "rough" condition. Not what I was hoping for based on how charming things looked in the pictures.

Quiet neighborhood. Nice setting. Short walk to river. Did not like a few things such as urine smell on the carpet, master bedroom toilet flapper leaking, master bed room door not lock not catching to lock, and broken deck chairs. Overall a good vacation.

A very nice property in a good location, nestled in the woods with close proximity to Mt Hood. Only disappointment was that the hot tub needed chlorine and shock oxidizer which were not available and were not delivered after calling VRBO.
