The Space:

This lovely two-bedroom condo is located in the popular Palmetto Dunes Plantation and provides a sparkling outdoor pool. Take a complimentary shuttle to Shelter Cove for dining and shopping, or walk to attractions in the area.

Enjoy a wide array of outdoor activities in the area, including biking, kayaking, tennis, and golf.



After fun-filled days, make some popcorn, kick back on the love seat, and watch a movie on the 55-inch TV in the living room. A queen-size sleeper sofa offers additional slumber space. Create delicious meals in the sparkling kitchen, equipped with a full suite of appliances and ample cookware. When it's time to eat, gather at the four-person table or perch at the kitchen bar for two.



This second-floor condo sleeps up to eight guests in two bedrooms and a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room. Sleep soundly in the master bedroom, which features a king-size bed, 32-inch TV, and access to a private balcony. The en-suite bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Find comfort in the second bedroom, offering two full-size beds, a television, and access to a private balcony with seating for four. The en-suite bathroom is fitted with a tub/shower combination. A convenient third bathroom provides a walk-in shower. Enjoy morning coffee on two private balconies. Spend sun-kissed days lounging by the unheated pool, open year-round.



The sparkling coastline is just a few hundred feet away for days of fun in the sun. Or enjoy other outdoor activities such as tennis, golf, biking, and kayaking. You'll be within walking distance of The Palmetto Dunes Club and a handful of restaurants and shops. Palmetto Dunes even offers a complimentary shuttle service to Shelter Cove for additional entertainment and dining options.

Great Vacation Condo

If you are looking for a clean and well furnished place to stay this is it! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for a home away from home. Sleeps 8 guests and 3 bathrooms. Parking was close to the condo and the grounds were well maintained. Short walk to the beach to watch the sunrise!

Great Location

We love staying at the Moorings. The villa is outdated, but it was clean & worked well for our our quick getaway with the family.

Our stay was fine. Our unit definitely needs some updating. We have stayed in this complex before and the other units were much nicer. The area and beach was very nice.

There was no air conditioning the entire time we were there for our 3-day weekend. We drove 6 hours. Someone came out to check it but couldn’t find anything wrong. We got a window unit and a slight discount for no AC and that was it.

Great location!

Would definitely stay here again. Decor outdated but the location and roominess as well as having three bathrooms was perfect. Would recommend figuring out WiFi options as we couldn’t use it but we were so busy at the beach that we didn’t need it but just know if that’s important to you. Great value!

Great wind down week

Property was nice. Just my wife and I so pretty easy to please. We are both 68 and probably will have to book a ground level for our next trip. Hickory Cove fits us better. Too many steps for my back and her feet but very nice and very convenient.

Nice, a little outdated and bugs!

Property is decent shape, and quite clean. Location one block away from the beach is great. Found multiple cockroaches the day we got the unit and throughout our stay. Some if it’s to be expected, but we did feel like there were quite a few. Property manager was fast to respond to questions, but whenever they referred me to the “cleaning staff” - I never heard anything back at all! Multiple times in a row, same issue.

The property was not as described. It was not clean, there is a moisture issue with wet stains on ceiling (roof leaks)- there was a large wet stain on kitchen ceiling with black surrounding ring. The outdoor areas (balcony) were dirty, outdoor furniture was rusted / stained. Bathrooms and kitchen were updated.

Place smelled was really outdated. Shower doesn’t drain so your standing in shin deep water while taking a shower. Master bedroom tv doesn’t work. The porches haven’t been cleaned off in years

Since your stay, the shower drain has been cleared and now drains as it should. The master television was found to be working properly. The television must be turned on manually before the remote can be used. The instructions for use can be found in the master bedroom. Wonderful

This is our 3rd year coming to this property and it truly is a home away from home, there is nothing lacking here. There is a phone, not all rentals have this. There is also a DVR, again not all rentals have one of these. It meant we could be out & about & taping our favourite shows at the same time, ideal for my husband who doesn’t like to miss any of his English Premier League soccer games while he’s away. The owners Nick & Sally are great they respond very quickly if there is a question or issue. This condo Is a very short distance to the beach and we’ll miss our daily walks by the ocean. We’ll be back next year. Thanks Nick & Sally

Great location but multiple problems

We have been to HHI many times over the years and try different places on the island so we can find the "just right" place. Sadly, this unit isn't it. The location is great - close to the beach and Dunes House. But, our problems, sigh, included: hair on the floors in bathroom, crumbs all over the kitchen eating area on the floor , a toe nail on the coffee table, crumbs on the kitchen table, one of the beds didn't have clean sheets, the cable was out more than once, the water was turned off twice for several hours (once with a heads up, once without, so surprise!). The coffee maker was stored in the utility closet, was nasty, and so we had to go buy a new one. Not all of the cleaning was done properly when they came back either - most of the floor debris was still there. The unit overall just felt neglected and very dated - either the owners aren't checking it from time-to-time or they've hired the lowest price cleaning crew because it shows, which was very disappointing given the cost and our prior experiences with other VRBO properties at HHI. The owner was apologetic when contacted but steered us rather quickly to the rental company/agency. We did receive gift cards for a restaurant a couple of days in, plus something of a welcome bag; the question was whether it was in apology for the issues, or was just normal but delivered late. I would have given one star, but giving two in the hopes that the gift certificates were an effort to make things right. The washer and dryer are very modest - just a heads up that you have to do tiny loads and be really patient with the dryer if you're doing towels - you can do 2 at a time and that's it. We love Hilton Head and the rest of our stay was great, but would never return to this unit.

I was notified by this guest upon there arrival of the problems with the cleaning. I apologized to Ms Rode and asked them to contact the management company as they were there to address this and any other issue that may arise. I followed up with the guest to see if there issues had been addressed, and when notified that they were not I called the local management company and asked them to go back again and clean the unit properly. The gift cards were In fact a small token for the issues that were experienced. The cable company is Spectrum, formally Time Warner. We have not experienced any issues with this service provider before, other then normal outages that are not within our control. I was notified that the city was needing to repair some city water lines within the Planation and that the water would be turned off during a specific time and I notified the guest. I was not notified concerning the city not completing the repairs and was not aware of any additional downtime until later that next day. I apologize for the bad experiences you had staying at our unit. This is not what you nor any one else should expect while traveling away from home . This is also atypical of the experiences of any prior guests who have stayed with us in the past as demonstrated by the 5 star rating we have received by all but one other guest who gave us a 4 star.

Location location location

Very short walk to the beach, very close to Dunes House which we ate at twice this trip! We did have an issue with tubs not draining but maintenance fixed. The unit could use some updating on pots pans and cooking utensils. Pretty good villa!

We had four people and enjoyed our 4 night stay. The place was mostly clean but it could definitely be better such as the dishes. The community is very safe and there is a free shuttle that takes you around Palmetto Dunes, Shelter Cove, and the plaza that has Kroger for groceries.

Fantastic Location

We had an absolutely amazing vacation! This unit is all about location and it can't be beat! We loved being steps away from the pool and less than 5 min walk to beach. I could even leave, make lunch for the kids and come back in less than 20 mins! This unit had most everything we needed and we were very comfortable. There were a few signs of wear but nothing that really stands out that impacted our visit. We were really happy to find some boogie boards there ready to borrow and we have our own beach cart but there was one there if we had needed it. We got used to the steps really quick but be mindful this is on the 2nd floor. Our friends were also there in The Moorings and while their unit had more updated appliances this location was better situated - we felt more secluded with the way the unit faces and sits in like a coul-de-sac with its parking. We thorough enjoyed our stay! Awesome Vacation! Thx!

Old and buggy

Decent property. Good location to beach and good check in instructions. Property needs a lot of work. Outside of some bathroom upgrades, the property is showing its age. Ice machine broken. Sliding door to deck kept coming off its tracks. Bathroom receptacles in 2 of 3 bathrooms does not allow plug in of hair dryers (poor location). Old furniture / decor. Also found 3 dead cockroaches. Fire detector in extra bedroom was old and should have been replaced years ago. Overall it was ok but owners need to invest some $$ to make this a pleasant stay for future guests. Will look to alternate properties in the same area for next time.

Great location! Very short walk to the beach. Pool was nearby, used it once. Bathrooms were updated and nice, except 3rd bathroom had very low water pressure. I could barely rinse my hair. Having a washer & dryer was great. Only complaint was that the description was misleading. It says it’s a 2nd floor unit, but because it’s on stilts, you have to walk 2 flights of stairs to 3rd floor basically. I walk with a cane & have 2 stories in my home, but walking up 2 flights was a little much for me.
