Coastal house near trails, beaches, & dining with firepit - dog-friendly
Summary:
Ocean, and redwoods converge in Gualala. Bring your pup along -- numerous trails and beaches are a short drive away. Room for 4 in this 2-bedroom home. Restaurants, river access, and Gualala Point Regional Park are all a short drive away. The Mendonoma Coast's best dining, art, and beaches are minutes away. Nature does the decorating here -- redwoods, ferns, and the occasional curious fox. Autumn is the North Coast's secret season -- warm days, smaller crowds, and spectacular sunsets.
The Space:
Surrounded by redwoods and in a quiet neighborhood, the Coastal Cabin offers a pleasant space to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Don't forget to bring your hiking shoes, as numerous trailheads are a short drive away, including the Gualala Bluff Trail, Gualala River Redwood Park, and Bower Park.
Sun-soaked and happy, head back inside the open interior of your stay. Whip up something delicious in the well-equipped kitchen amongst the vintage fridge and ample meal prep space. (This home is not equipped with a garbage disposal.) Later, gather on the comfortable seating in the living room for a movie night. Eclectic and fun, the bedrooms offer inviting areas to rest your head each evening. A mini-split unit provides heat and air-conditioning.
As the stars begin to fill the night sky, head outside and indulge in a gooey s'more prepared over the warmth of the firepit.
Bring your pup along -- this home welcomes up to 1 dog.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
Choose from 2 bedrooms. Altogether, the home comfortably sleeps 4.
PROPERTY AMENITIES
-- 2 bedrooms, 1 bath
-- Dog friendly (up to 1)
Guest Access:
You will have full access to the entire home and all its amenities during your stay. This home welcomes up to 1 dog -- the yard and nearby trails are ready for your pup. Driveway parking is available at the property. Detailed check-in instructions, including the door code, will be provided prior to your arrival.
The Neighborhood:
When you aren't marveling at California's old-growth forests, head to Cooks Beach or Shell Beach to relax and enjoy the sunshine.
Getting Around:
From San Francisco, the drive is about 2.5 hours via Highway 101 to Highway 1. Fly into Santa Rosa's Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS), about 90 minutes east, and drive the coast from there. Having a car opens up the entire Mendonoma Coast.
Other Things to Note:
The steps to the front door are not symmetrical, so be careful when descending.
Visit in spring for wildflower season -- the hills above Gualala and the river trails burst with lupine and California poppies. June through September brings the warmest weather. Morning fog is part of the charm -- it usually clears to reveal blue skies.
Up to 1 dog is welcome (max 50 lbs). Please keep dogs on leash on trails and clean up after them.
Cell service can be spotty along the coast. The home has WiFi for staying connected.
