This is a contemporary full studio condo furnished and finished with sustainably grown Belizean hardwoods and excellent modern touches for comfort and convenience.

Your unit features:
- A comfortable queen-sized bed in the sleeping area with a beautiful shelving unit for added storage that separates the sleeping area from the living area.
- The full kitchen features a counter bar with two stools for dining, a stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishes, and is stocked with enough pots, pans, utensils, etc. for meal prep and cooking.
- A couch and ottomans that can also be used as for sitting, lounging, napping, with side tables for working, socializing, or eating, or just hanging out in the living area.
- Outdoor spaces feature additional tables and chairs for reading, eating, working, socializing, or just enjoying the outdoors.
- There is a sparkling clean saltwater shared pool directly in front of the unit, and a patio with shared sun loungers.
- A two-story gazebo provides additional shared lounging spaces with views and a great place to catch the sea breezes.
-Free parking is available on-site for one car or one golf cart. If you need to request additional parking space, please ask in advance, additional spaces are not guaranteed.
- Coin-operating laundry facilities are available on-site. Please bring U.S. Quarters to operate.
- Note: there is no TV provided in the unit, but there is usually very good high-speed internet that should work well with most of your streaming devices.

Smoking is not allowed in the Condo or on the porches. If you need to smoke, please do so on a concrete patio or other area away from the condo units and other guests.

We may or may not be in Town during your stay. If not in town, we are available through the app to answer your questions, and we have local onsite property managers available to handle any on-site issues that may arise.

Guests will have full, private use of the condo. Other amenities such as the pool, laundry facilities and the gazebo are shared with other residents/guests at the 15-unit complex.

The Vanilla Bean Inn condo complex is brand new and some units are still being built. There may be daytime construction activity and noise during 2026. Nights are usually quiet.

Belize is an English-speaking country. Both U.S. Dollars and Belizean Dollars, along with credit or debit cards, are accepted most everywhere. The exchange rate is $2 BZD to $1 USD (please confirm prior to your travel dates). An ATM is available in Hopkins at the north road corner, and most every other city. Sometimes the ATMs run out of cash on busy weeks.

There is so much to do in Belize. Here are some of our recommendations:

RESTAURANTS - There are many nearby restaurants featuring local dishes, fresh seafood, pizza, good burgers and steaks, and all your favorite bar food, fresh salads, grilled vegetables, pasta, and more. Some of our favorites in the Village (just north of the Vanilla Bean Inn complex) include: Ella's Cool Spot for local food and variety in the village, Driftwood for wood-fired pizza and burgers, Windschief or Maximos for seafood and Belizean chicken, Peers Place for breakfast, fresh pasta and delectable specials, or Roast (just north of us) for great coffee, teas, and breakfast or lunch. The resorts just south include gourmet and award-winning cuisine at Chef Robs or the Barracuda, The Big Dock at Jaguar Reef for great ceviche or pizza, Caribbean specialties at Bahay Fiesta, great fresh-fried chicken at Belly Full Chicken at Mookies, and a variety at Hamanasi, Luba Laruga. You can get fresh made ice cream or smoothies with all sorts of tropical and local flavors at Black Orchid Ice Cream. We do not recommend drinking the tap water (teethbrushing and ice are fine) but bottled water is available everywhere.

ACTIVITIES - The Hopkins Bay Beach is 900 steps east of our property, with a variety of walk-in access points. You can walk for miles, swim, or there are kayaks or paddleboards for rent or boat rides available in the village or resorts. This is a shallow, sandy-bottomed bay beach with few waves, maybe some manatees or dolphins to watch. Sunbathing and lounging is great and free at many of the nearby resorts (they just ask that you make a food or beverage purchase while there). There is not too much snorkeling off the beach, but you can easily book 1/2 or full-day boat ride to the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world, about 45 min. from our shores, with many trips going out pretty much daily year-round. Fishing trips, lionfish hunting, sailing, and other water options abound.

DAY TRIPS/TOURS - Hopkins is centrally located in Belize, about two hours south of Belize City by vehicle. Beyond local water trips, there are daily group or private trip excursions available to caves, jungle hiking, ziplines, water or tubing river adventures, Mayan ruins and archeological sites, and much more. No need to worry in advance as there are many reasonably priced local operators, and a walk or drive down the main street will have you set up for your time as much as you want to choose from, or many operators have online websites or social media pages.

To get to Hopkins, you can book online transport from the Belize City or come by bus to get to town. In town you can often get by without a vehicle if you don't mind walking a bit, or you can rent a golf car or bike. If you rent a car from Belize City and have your choice of places to visit. It's a small country, and you can reach most locations within a couple of hours. Roads are usually pretty good (beware of some potholes, especially after heavy rains), but there are a lot of "sleeping police" (speed bumps) on the highways and side streets (some are not well-marked) to slow traffic. Often the 2-lane highways will have dark-colored clothing bike riders without reflectors, or other obstacles to miss. We do not recommend driving at night for visibility reasons.

LOCAL EVENTS - There are annual festivals and events. You can search online depending on your stay dates, and the local Hopkins online social media pages are great sources of information on current events.

Other Information:

Belize is a tropical climate (typically between 70 – 85 F/ 20-30 C most days year-round) and most people are in shorts and t-shirts. Swimsuits and cover-ups are good at the beach or pools. You may want a nicer outfit for going out or resort wear. Bugs live here and sometimes it gets a little cool, so bring a sweater or light jacket if you get chilly. It does rain often, but usually for a short time. Casual is key and charming.

Medical care and pharmacies are available in town if needed. Ask our onsite property managers for assistance.

Suggested Items to Bring
- Lightweight clothing – shorts, light shirts, light dresses, undies, etc.
- Swimsuits (at least two if you plan to swim)
- Shoes – Flip Flops or light sandals, a pair of closed-toe walking/workout shoes, and potentially water sandals/Keens® or Chacos® for wet walking if doing excursions
- Light rain jacket / umbrella
- Bug repellents – Coconut oil or other oil-based repellents help with sand fleas. Mosquitoes need DEET (like Deep Woods Off)
- Sunscreen
- Reusable water bottle – Tap water is safe for teeth brushing and cooking, but for drinking we provide bottled water. Bring your bottle for refills.
- Personal toiletries and medications - There are stores and pharmacies, if needed.
- Lightweight backpack / bag for day use
- Toys and passion items - Books, computers, instruments, books, writing or drawing utensils, swim goggles, etc. There is no TV but wifi works great on your devices.
- Debit Card and Cash – Both USD and BZ $ are accepted. Some places (not all) accept credit cards.

Tips For Belize Customs Entry (in personal bag) - PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH FOR FULL REQUIREMENTS
- PASSPORT – Must have at least 6 months left prior to expiration. You may be offered an option to complete your customs forms online or they will be available at the airport upon arrival. No worries. If staying longer than 30 days, you will need to renew your visa each month.
- Copy of flight numbers, return flight itinerary, and address for where you will be staying. If staying with us, just say you will be staying with friends at: Vanilla Bean Inn, Hopkins Village, Stann Creek District
- Do NOT bring fresh food, meats, cannabis products, or other illegal drugs (there will be dogs at the airport).
- Reason for entry: Vacation, personal fun, and visiting friends. Unless you are moving here, do not bring items for sale, large amounts of cash, or that would require duty/tax payments.
