Upper Berne Chalet 4 Mins to DT AVL, 10 Mins to Blue Ridge Parkway, Dog Friendly
Upper Berne has been renting for years on Vrbo with great reviews. We are the new property managers so limited on reviews currently. We are working on getting the past reviews added.
Nestled on Beaucatcher Mountain amidst the trees, the Upper Berne Chalet offers easy access to numerous hiking trails, perfect for you and your furry friends.
This vacation home features a king-sized bedroom and a queen-sized bedroom, along with a combined living room and dining area. The full-size kitchen provides all the comforts of home.
The open floor plan comfortably accommodates up to four guests and their dogs. Enjoy numerous indoor and outdoor amenities, including generous seating and abundant natural light, ensuring a relaxing and comfortable stay. This is the upper level of the Full Berne duplex.
Berne Chalet offers easy access to Asheville's highlights, situated just five minutes from eclectic downtown, the South Slope, the River Arts District, the Blue Ridge Parkway, New Belgium Brewery, and the Biltmore Estate, plus so much more!
Need more space? A lower level with one king bedroom is available if you're interested in renting the entire duplex chalet. Contact us for the link. If the upper chalet is booked, check out the Lower Berne.
When booking, please list the number of people in your party and if you are bringing a dog. A pet fee will be added to your reservation.
Please note: Mountain roads can be steep and dark, and the Berne Chalet is situated on a tight, curvy, one-lane road within a quiet mountain subdivision. While short and includes streetlights, inexperienced drivers may find it challenging.
We recommend daytime arrival if you are uncomfortable with mountain roads. Downtown Asheville is nearby, but driving is recommended due to traffic. Amenities include an electric fireplace. Smoking, vaping, and candles are prohibited. There is no fenced yard.
Dog Policy: A dog fee applies, plus all applicable taxes. We allow up to two dogs with prior approval. Please provide their size and breed for registration. Be sure to note that you are bringing a dog when making your reservation.
Here's a polished version of the house rules regarding pets:
Dogs are welcome, but please note the following:
1. They must be at least one year old, and no aggressive breeds are allowed.
2. All dogs must have current vaccinations and flea treatments.
3. They must be kept on a leash and under the owner's control at all times.
4. Pets are not permitted on beds, couches, or chairs.
5. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs, and we ask that you do not flush pet waste down the toilet.
6. A dog fee will be applied to cover the cost of extra cleaning. We regret to inform you that we do not allow cats.
7. We love dogs, and we are happy to host your well-behaved dog.
Managed by a local, sustainable, and seasoned vacation rental team with over 20 years of five-star reviews, we provide ample support and information before your arrival.
We are also available during your stay to assist if needed, as you are booking more than just a home – you're experiencing genuine Southern mountain hospitality.
Thank you for considering staying with us! Darlene and Ron
Asheville offers a variety of family-friendly activities, making it a great destination for travelers, even though it's well-known for its breweries.

2. The Arboretum is a great place to take kids and adults for some easy hiking.
3. Baseball season, it’s always fun to take in a game at Babe Ruth’s favorite minor league field to see the Asheville Tourists play.
4. There is also the Asheville Pinball Museum, right downtown, and a pass is good for the entire day.
5. The WNC Nature Center features native plants and animals of the southern Appalachian Mountains, and features 60 species and 120 animals.
6. Navitat is an exciting zip line treetop canopy tour that is 25 minutes outside of downtown and is a true adventure.
7. Asheville is also a short drive to some of North Carolina’s ski slopes! In the winter, take a 35-minute drive to Wolf Ridge Ski resort, or a 45-minute drive to Cataloochee Ski Area for some skiing, snowboarding, or snow tubing.
