2-bedroom bungalow with lake access

Rather than use the website's fancy description, let's tell it like it is. This is a very comfortable and cozy house in the small, quiet community of Fish Lake (called Walkerton for its postal code).

Fish Lake is located 10 miles from La Porte, IN and 20 miles from South Bend, IN. It has access to a market, restaurant, bar, library, American Legion post, softball field and churches. Local events include pancake breakfasts, fishing derbies, community fish fries and July 4 fireworks. The city of La Porte has many shops, restaurants and events.

The bungalow sleeps 5 if using the couch, but with one bathroom that is the limit. You will have use of a basic but full kitchen, with gas range, full-size refrigerator, dishes and microwave. There is no dishwasher or garbage disposal. Bedrooms are equipped with ceiling fans, linens and limited storage. Heating is controlled with a thermostat. Two AC window units keep the bungalow cool in summer. TV has access to streaming apps with your own login and password. WiFi is supplied by fiber (no cable).

The bathroom has a fan and wall heater, towels, basic cleaning supplies, a hair dryer and a first aid kit. The laundry machines are for small, light loads only.

Outside you have access to a comfy screened porch with a lake view, seating for six and overhead fan. TV may be moved into the porch if desired.

Guests have access to Fish Lake from our low-profile dock (use at your own risk). 2 kayaks are available, also at your own risk.
