My partner and I stayed here the night of our proposal, and it will always be a special place because i got engaged to the love of my life.I booked this VRBO well in advance so we'd have a quiet place to celebrate, and it definitely delivered on that. It was peaceful, private, and the host was very kind and accommodating.There were a few issues, though. When we arrived, there was a very strong bleach smell, but the table had smudges, the toilet had a streak, the shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned recently,the counter was sticky, there was food debris on the stove, and every dish had food on it so it had to be washed, and the floor was dirty. We usually don't complain, so we overlooked it.The biggest issue was the spiders. While getting into bed, we found what Google Lens identified as a brown recluse between our pillows after we had already been lying down! Partially squished I have arachnophobia, so this was very upsetting not to mention before laying down we had checked the pillows and the sheets as we always do.The next morning, another similar spider came out from behind the stove.There were also only a few paper towels like 5 and about one roll mabey of toilet paper. A broom would've be a nice addition for guests.Overall, the bed was comfortable, the space was quiet, and we had a wonderful engagement weekend. I'd consider staying again if the cleanliness and spider issues were addressed. Thank you again for accommodating us it's definitely worth what you pay.

We were in NC for our grandaughters graduation, we usually stay at their house but we wanted a quiet place and to be out of the way when things at the house were chaotic. The rental was nice but we felt that there could have been a couple of comforts that we felt were missing. A table on both sides of the bed and possibly a table lamp on one of the tables for those middle of the night trips to the bathroom or when you don’t want all the ceiling lights on. A possible love seat or somewhere to sit other than the beds. There was 1 chair and a small table in there so that came in handy when needed. Not sure where any additional furniture would go though with the two big beds. But those are my suggestions. The host was very sweet and took care of every question I had. Bought us a coffee pot and brought some mugs over to us. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you John for your hospitality! Carol and Larry
