The modern coastal home at 304 Victory Bay Lane features a heated saltwater infinity pool at the edge of an Island lagoon on Kiawah’s eastern tip.
Sitting on nearly half an acre, the light-filled home was designed by award-winning architect Wayne Windham.
The foyer opens to an airy living room twenty-one feet long. Beneath a white coffered ceiling, two sets of transomed floor-to-ceiling glass doors open to a pool deck lined by cable rail.
The space is open to the dining room where, beneath a tongue-in-groove ceiling of pale fog blue, a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows overlooks the pool and lagoon.
The dining room in turn is open to the kitchen, where multiple transomed windows invite sun-dappled light inside. White ceiling-height Shaker cabinetry pairs with pale countertops and a herringbone-laid backsplash in hues of sand. These contrast with a center island in deep blue, complete with breakfast bar and stainless single-basin sink. The top-tier stainless appliances include a Thermador® six-burner gas cooktop with griddle and dual ovens and side-by-side refrigerator. Inside the windowed butler’s pantry and bar, accessed via doorways to either side of the refrigerator column, is a stainless single-basin prep sink, open upper shelving, lower cabinetry in deep blue, a JennAir® wine cooler, and bar sink.
A screened porch also opens from the kitchen. Featuring views to three sides, a stainless grill and outdoor dining and seating areas beneath a vaulted ceiling, it leads to the pool deck, itself shaded by a live oak.
To the other side of the living room can be found a media room where glass doors open to an additional screened porch with its own vaulted ceiling and conversation area.
Tucked away to one side of the home for privacy, the main-level primary bedroom enjoys transomed windows on two sides: tall plantation-shuttered windows flanking the bed and a set of floor-to-ceiling windows framing the live oak. Its bath also streams with light from windows on two sides. His-and-hers sinks are separated by a makeup vanity, a sleek standalone tub lies beneath a crystal pendant chandelier, and a frameless-glass walk-in rainshower features an additional showerhead.
Completing the main level is a wainscoted powder room with a vessel sink patterned in classic blue and white florals; a windowed laundry room with sink and ample countertop, cabinet, and clothes-hanging space; and a bunkroom accessed via a window-lined colonnade. There, beneath walls and angled ceilings of white shiplap, are four built-in bunks. Its bath contains his-and-hers sinks and a glass-doored alcove shower.
Take the beautifully trimmed white staircase with its glass-paneled balustrade or home elevator—its wood floor inlaid with a compass medallion—to the second story to find the remaining guest quarters.
A unique feature of this home is that all baths contain his-and-hers sinks. On this level, the first set can be found in the windowed bath of the rear corner suite. Its bedroom lies below a vaulted ceiling and clerestory window, with a row of windows beneath framing the views. Next door is a guest suite whose bedroom is nearly its twin, overlooking a lagoon.. The baths of both enjoy glass-doored alcove showers.
The most expansive guest suite lies down a private hallway. Beneath a vaulted ceiling, rows of windows on the shiplap bed wall frame fresh green treetops. A barn door flanked by his-and-hers walk-in closets slides open to a windowed bath with his-and-hers sinks and a frameless-glass walk-in shower.
Completing this level is a private reading room with angled ceilings and walls in white shiplap.
More delights can be found on the ground level, beginning with a windowed game room complete with table tennis, foosball, a fitness nook, and a bar with sink, undercounter beverage fridge, and bar seating. A separate ground-floor entrance and half-bath with vessel sink mean one hardly needs to traipse upstairs for anything but sleep.
Ideally located in Ocean Park on Kiawah’s rugged eastern tip and close to a central ribbon park is lined with hundreds of grand trees, and across the way is the 250-acre Little Bear preservation area—one of the largest barrier island conservation areas in the Southeast.
Absolutely no pets, smoking, or events, no exceptions will be made.
The stunning pool can be heated for an extra $195 per day plus tax, 4 day minimum required for the heating.
When you stay with ESPM for 3-21 nights you will receive a valuable credit of up to $210 (amount dependent on length of stay)to use toward beach gear, bikes, etc. Credit may not be available for last minute bookings, 48 hours notice is required.
