The Space:

Take a well-deserved break from your busy lifestyle at this beautiful cottage tucked away in the southern Appalachian Mountains. While this home may feel remote, you'll be just three miles north of downtown Highlands for convenient shopping and dining. Inside this bright and open vacation rental, you'll find a well-equipped, full kitchen for preparing everyone's favorite recipes, a dining area with a table and chairs for mealtimes or rainy day board games, and a living area with a vaulted ceiling, plush matching sofas, a warming gas fireplace, and a smart TV ready for movie nights. When it's time for a little friendly competition, head into the garage and challenge one another to games of foosball or bumper pool. Step outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine from your furnished front porch, screened patio, or grassy yard where you'll also find a fire bowl and plenty of seating for roasting s'mores and stargazing. Additional amenities and features found at this home include central air-conditioning, a gas grill for summertime cookouts, and a private washer/dryer. The property was welcoming to a 3.5 lb Morkie. She enjoyed the stay. The cottage was really nice and spacious with plenty of room for our family of four and our furbaby. The location was ideal. The only recommendations would be to add grab bars in the shower and to make sure no stains were on the comforters in the two smaller bedrooms. We greatly enjoyed our time in the cottage.

Have always booked with VRBO, this was the first time we had to deal with a management group after booking and payment was made. We all tried to get the dishwasher to come on, no luck! The home is Very Nice!

Great home convenient to popular hikes and downtown Highlands. The furniture was comfortable and house was clean. The photos accurately depict the property. We only stayed here two nights, but would book this property again.

Perfect Get Away!!

This home is in excellent condition and in a very nice neighborhood. It has high quality furnishings and every thing that we needed. It is very close to Highlands and a short beautiful drive to Cashiers. Highly recommend!!

Spacious & quiet

Our family enjoyed spending time together at this clean, roomy, & quiet getaway! The kitchen had all we needed to make many good meals. We especially enjoyed coffee and juices on the front deck & back screened-in porch in the AM and the fully fenced backyard was perfect for our pooches! Thank you!!

Sanctuary

Quiet, comfortable and well equipped sanctuary nestled in a treed lot with a lovely great room and both front and back porches to enjoy. A great place to come back to after a day hiking. Very close to all that Highlands has to offer.

Carolina Cottage

Our stay in the Carolina Cottage was delightful. The home was well appointed, comfortable, and situated in a sweet, quiet, neighborhood with good privacy. Located just a short drive into town, we found everything that we needed and enjoyed the gas fireplace in the evenings. It is also close to several good hiking trails. We would love to return to this lovely home again. Thank you for an enjoyable visit!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carolina Cottage! It felt like home away from home. Very spacious and inviting. The kitchen had everything we could need. Decor is beautiful and beds were comfortable. Fenced in backyard was a huge plus for our dog. Location was perfect. Short drive to downtown Highlands and easy proximity to lots of outdoor activities. We hiked Whiteside Mountian as well as Gorges State Park during our stay. All you could want or ask for in a vacation rental.

Located in a seniors/retirement community

This cottage is very cute & nicely furnished. However, it is located in a retirement community, which is not mentioned anywhere in the listing. As a family with kids and a dog, this was not the best environment for us and knowing this ahead of time would have affected our rental choice.
