Make yourself at home in this 2-bedroom Oxbow Lake cabin retreat. Located in the town of Lake Pleasant.
Escape to a rustic Adirondack cabin nestled in the woods, offering a peaceful retreat for guests looking to unplug and enjoy nature. This is not a luxury lakefront home—it's a cozy, authentic cabin experience surrounded by trees and wildlife.
The cabin includes access to Oxbow Lake via a short wooded walk across a footbridge and down a natural path to the private dock. While the dock offers a relaxing place to fish, kayak, or enjoy the water, it is located in a lakeside community with neighboring homes nearby.
The cabin is set back from the water, so there is only a filtered view of the lake from inside the cabin. The lake can be enjoyed from the dock just a short walk away.
Because the cabin is located in the woods, guests may notice the natural sights, sounds, and occasional earthy scents that come with a rustic woodland setting. If you're looking for a modern hotel experience, this may not be the right fit. This is a cute, clean and comfortable cabin nestled in the woods and a very short walk from the edge of Oxbow Lake. The fishing is terrific and you’ll fall asleep to the sound of loons on the water. Susan is very communicative and extremely helpful. The cabin’s kitchen is well stocked with many utensils and good cookware. There really isn’t much you need to bring. There are plenty of linens, soaps, and storage bags.This is a great value and it makes for a very relaxing getaway. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights in mid July, celebrating our anniversary. This cabin was beautiful, very clean, very comfortable, the perfect spot to relax. Check in was super easy. The host, Susan was excellent with communication, and had left a welcome basket for us with snacks and drinks and a lovely note, a very nice touch. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom was well-stocked and spotless. Kitchen has everything you could need. The yard right in front of the cabin is a prime stargazing spot, absolutely stunning views on a clear night. The lake. It’s breathtaking. One evening it was so still it was like a mirror, and the sunset was incredible. We didn’t end up using the canoe but we plan to next time we book. The location is also perfect. Speculator is a short drive down the road, maybe 10 minute drive, and there’s everything you could need in town. Lots of fun things to do nearby (like CampStore!), lots of good and great restaurants, and so many hiking trailheads. 10/10 recommend, and we’re already planning next year’s trip!

Description stated lake view but didn’t say this wasn’t from the cabin. To get to the dock you had to walk 200 feet and once almost there, there is a decline. Walking stick advised to walk up the incline upon cabin return. The path to the dock makes you feel like you’re sneaking on the edge of the neighbors property. The canoe is without life jackets which is mandatory for use. The driveway, which the bonfire is right next to, is shared with the neighbors. No real storage area for pantry goods or clothing. Fridge and freezer wasn’t very clean. Several dead bugs and dirt. Just needed a good wipe down like the kitchen sink that had what appeared to be built up greenish moss- like dirt. Charcoal grill wasn’t clean. Charcoal not provided but store within 15 minutes as was different places to swim and/or walk trails. Plenty of wood available for fireplace and bonfire. Would be great for a short stay. It was difficult to let host know of departure as they want a text but service wasn’t reliable and spotty depending on location on property.

We do want to clarify a couple of points for future guests. Prior to your stay, we discussed that charcoal is not provided and that the cabin is located in a wooded setting with neighboring properties nearby. The shared driveway and proximity of the neighboring homes are also part of the property’s setting. We will certainly take your comments regarding cleanliness seriously and will be paying particular attention to the refrigerator, freezer, sink, grill, and overall cleaning between guests. The cabin is a rustic property in the woods, with lake access approximately 200 feet from the cabin. We understand that the natural terrain and setting may not be ideal for everyone, and we will continue working to make the listing as clear as possible so guests know what to expect before booking. We’re glad you were able to enjoy the firewood, nearby swimming and hiking opportunities, and your time at the cabin. Thank you again for your feedback.

We were disappointed because we felt the listing did not match our expectations. The cabin itself had no lake view, it was blocked by a garage, and the dock offered very little privacy due to the neighboring homes. The "short walk" to the lake involved crossing a bridge that did not appear safe, walking through the woods, and down a hill. There was also what seemed to be a mildew smell, along with an overpowering air freshener scent throughout the cabin, which made our stay uncomfortable. We feel the listing could better describe the property's location, lake access, views, and overall setting so future guests know what to expect.

Our cabin is a rustic retreat nestled in the woods, and while we work hard to keep it clean and well maintained, the natural woodland environment can have earthy scents that vary with the weather and humidity. We understand that this type of setting may not appeal to everyone. Our listing includes photos of the cabin, lakefront, dock, and surrounding property to help guests understand the layout and setting before booking. When you mentioned the air fresheners during your stay, we suggested removing them immediately in hopes of making your stay more comfortable. The host was absolutely amazing she showed up right when I texted her that I had arrived and gave us a warm welcome! The property was very clean and cozy. They even had snacks laid out on the table for us! During the stay it was over a 100 degrees and the host was kind enough to deliver an ac for us with no added charge. Definitely will be coming back!
