My wife and I greatly enjoyed our weekend. Beautiful views from the deck and Dana was very responsive if we had any questions. We are already planning our next weekend trip to this property.

Dana is super nice, very responsive and this place is so nice and cozy! We had a wonderful relaxing time and the hot tub was the cherry on top! Nothing bad to say! Thank you again!!!

We stayed here over a holiday weekend with two families and kids, and it was a perfect fit. The cozy cabin sits on the water with the most picturesque views, making it feel peaceful and special from the moment we arrived. Its location is ideal—just 20 minutes from Oak Mountain—making it a great home base for a ski trip. After a long day on the slopes, it was wonderful to come back to a relaxing night in the hot tub. This house was the great mix of charm, convenience, and relaxation for our group.

My husband and I had an amazing winter weekend getaway at this beautiful lakefront cabin in Wells, NY! The cabin was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.The hot tub was a highlight, especially after full days of snowmobiling and exploring Speculator, NY. Soaking in the hot tub while surrounded by snowy views and peaceful nature was truly unforgettable. The lake views were stunning, and the setting felt quiet, private, and relaxing.We met up with friends for a weekend of fun, adventure, and laughter, and this cabin was the perfect home base. Everything was comfortable, well thought out, and exactly as described. We had the best weekend and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy winter getaway!
Sipping wine in the cozy living room after a soak in the hot tub was the perfect way to end our winter nights. 🤍
Waking up early to sip coffee while watching the sunrise over the frozen lake was pure peace.
Riding snowmobiles through Speculator, NY, surrounded by frozen lakes and endless snowy landscapes, made for the most breathtaking views.

The cabin on Lake Algonquin was very nice. The lake-front property has gorgeous views and the back porch with the hot tub was a favorite amenity. The house, interior and exterior, were in very good condition. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed. The family room was nicely furnished and cozy. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean as were the bathrooms as well. The only thing that was unusual, was that the main entry door does not lock. The dead bolt does not line up with the hole in the door frame. It would be an easy fix, which was apparently adjusted before, based on the shims that were placed in the door frame, but it was still out of alignment. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe and we did not experience any problems, but the lock should be fixed. All in all, the stay was wonderful.

This property is absolutely not as it appears in the photos. It sits right on the edge of a busy road where cars speed by constantly, making it loud and unsafe. The moment we walked in, we were hit with a terrible sewage smell throughout the house.Several amenities listed were either missing or not functioning properly. There was no medical massage chair as mentioned in the description. The hot tub water level was too low, so it didn’t work properly. The outdoor TV had no signal at all. The downstairs bathroom window was broken, and we had to awkwardly shimmy it just to keep it closed and locked. To make matters worse, that same bathroom door doesn’t even shut. The sliding glass door to the deck has no lock or latch, it’s just open to anyone.The most concerning issue of all: there was a gun cabinet with ammunition and keys sitting right on top, completely unlocked and accessible. I have never felt more unsafe in a rental property. It was also very clear that someone actually lives there, there were personal items, junk drawers, and random clutter everywhere.As for the town itself, it basically shuts down after dark. There was only one restaurant open until around 9 PM, and when we walked in, everyone stared like we didn’t belong. The hostess seemed completely lost, when we asked how long the wait was (with several empty tables visible), she said, “I don’t know,” and just walked away. It was truly one of the strangest experiences I’ve ever had traveling. I’ll never return.

Unfortunately you can't please everyone although we try. What this gust has shown is a locked gun cabinet where she felt comfortable enough to go on a search of the house to find keys. She also invaded personal drawers and admitted such. Vrbo wasn't designed to rent hotel rooms but peoples homes when they were not using them. Clearly they were unhappy but rather than ask me to fix any issues they concerned them they conspired to attempt to get a refund. For those future guests of ours or any ones homes its not ok to search through personal belongings in a home. I hope in the future these people understand the mountains is a different kind of living. Obviously they had never been. The funny thing is I spoke with Theresa when they arrived and tole her and her partner that I lived next door if there were any issues I would come address them. On that Saturday the gentlemen was fishing and he was telling me about his 4lb largemouth he just caught. I heard no complaints or requests until a day later when I received a request for REFUND.
