Inside, guests find three comfortable queen beds and two full baths, one with a tub/shower combo and the other with a spacious shower.
The cottage stays cozy with central heat & air, making every season enjoyable.
Miss Mae's Peaceful Retreat is fully updated and furnished for your comfort and enjoyment ~ you will feel like you are at Uncle Harry & Aunt Hilda's home ~ they just aren't there but all the comforts are!
The huge back yard offers off street parking and will accommodate boats and RVs (no RV hook ups tho')
We are located on a series of 8 islands ~ tho' you can't always tell when you cross over from one to another ~ and have very little shopping nearby ~ just 2 convenience stores; however, we will be most happy to pick up groceries for you or meet your delivery driver and put everything away prior to your arrival if you would like. Just give us a day's notice, please.
There are 2 really good restaurants in the area, Chowder Ted's is a neighborhood favorite~an older diner on the water with great food, reasonable prices and friendly staff and we also welcomed the opening of Billy Jack's a couple years ago ~ a local favourite with BBQ, on the water, good food, mostly fried, good prices, fun staff. There are a couple other restaurants, too.
Miss Mae's Peaceful Retreat is located about 17~20 minutes from the airport, River City Marketplace Mall, 10 minutes from the zoo and short minutes from quiet beaches and several state parks. A beautiful drive along the Ocean to Historic American Beach, Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach.
There is a combination living/dining/kitchen fully equipped for your enjoyment ~ full sized stove, microwave & a dishwasher.
Each bedroom has a desk in case you need to get a bit of work done. One has a separate door leading outside to the driveway.
We have books and games.
There is a picnic table under the trees in the back yard, a Weber grill and a small patio table and chairs so you can enjoy your meals outside if you like.
Living room offers a comfy couch, tv and each bedroom also has it's own tv.
One bath has beautiful tile with niches in the tub/shower combination. The other spacious bath has a nice sized shower and a full sized stack washer and dryer. There is a door that opens to the back yard.
Wifi is in place.
