East Des Moines is my hometown, born and raised. After traveling the country, I have grown a fond spot for East Des Moines Iowa. It’s just busy enough and never too busy to get around town with usually a few different neighborhood activities going on whether it’s garage sales, farmers market or the lavender farm just down the road.

My dream of becoming a host stems from the summers my sister and I spent down in Texas with my Southern belle grandmother who always went above and beyond to make sure we felt right at home, asking us our favorite snacks and drinks. Tidying the house up so neatly that every room felt special. :)

Our neighborhood is a blue collar working class who are loyal folks, but mostly keep to themselves. You’ll see kids here or there playing outside, multiple ice cream shops, ma & pa restaurants & parks to choose from.

15minutes from shopping at the Altoona outlet mall or beautiful lake views 20 minutes north at Saylorville Lake with multiple hiking trails and boat/jet ski rental options.

since we touched the fair parking, flag down a golf cart to catch a ride, the rest of the way to the entrance, which is only less than a half mile.

After a long day at the fair you can relax in the jet tub or start a fire and listen to the concerts from the fair which you can hear very well from the backyard while watching the beautiful sunset
