Villa Caretta - Your Holiday Home right by the sea

Located directly by the sea, Villa Caretta radiates peace and relaxation. The holiday home is ideal for a family or group holiday for up to 8 people.

The accommodation consists of two buildings: a main house with three bedrooms and a tower house with two bedrooms. Villa Caretta is situated on a large plot of land covered with olive trees and is located in the middle of a Natura 2000 area on a long secluded beach. The holiday home can only be reached by car on partly unpaved roads.

Villa Caretta is located in the picturesque landscape of the southern Peloponnese, surrounded by the Taygetos Mountains, Mani and picturesque villages such as Gythio or Elea in the midst of orange and olive groves. Historical places such as Mystras, Geraki or Monemvasia are important sites of Greek culture and are located about 1 hour's drive away.

Something special!

Beautiful location! Lonesome between olive and orange trees. Nearly private, sandy beach without anyone else (except breeding turtles ;-) ... ); unbelievable view on the sea and the starlet sky. The property is very well equipped with everything. Tavern nearby with fresh fish - just ask Dimitri for fish of the day. Although we have been several time in Peloponnes, we never had such experience before and we were really sad to leave and would love to come back!! Only concern - heavy road.

One word: super!!!If you like privacy, quitness, a sandy beach where you will see nobody…… this will be your best place!!The whole house/area…..EVERYTHING you need, it is there!Kitchen is soooo complete, there are so many towels, ping pong table and lots of things for to play in the pool.It is a big house with a large clean pool near the sea.The owner Ralf is so kind and helpfull.Also Melina who welcomes you is very sweet.You need a car to get to the house. We rent one in the airport. I can recomment CARJET

Superbe séjour, un havre de paix !Ma famille et moi avons adoré notre séjour au sein de cette maison… Une vraie maison de vacances authentique sans chichi avec tout le confort nécessaire au sein d’un cadre naturel magnifique et paisible, sans aucun voisinage… La piscine est grande et bien entretenue, La plage déserte est à quelques mètres, très pratique avec des jeunes enfants. Un vrai havre de paix pour se détendre en famille…Le seul petit point négatif : le wifi ne fonctionnait pas toujours très bien, à part ça rien à redire… les chambre sont très agréables, la cuisine et des ustensiles sont fonctionnels (Merci pour l’huile d’olive produite localement!), la buanderie très pratique avec tout le nécessaire pour faire nos lessives… et aussi un superbe piano à queue dans le séjour (ma fille a pu nous jouer quelques morceaux pour accompagner nos après-midi et nos soirées).Et Le propriétaire Ralph est très sympathique.Séjour magnifique mémorable!T. kleines Paradies frü Individualisten

Ein wunderschön und absolut einsam gelegenes Haus inmitten von Oliven- und Orangenplantagen, unweit des Meeres. Eine völlig untouristische Gegend, auch das ist etwas für Individualisten. Ein Traum, aber nicht für jeden, die abgelegene Einsamkeit und die abenteurlichen Anfahrtswege muss man eben in Kauf nehmen, wenn man diese Ruhe will. Auch die nicht vorhandene Klimaanlagen in den Obergeschossen macht den Aufenthalt im August bei über 40 Grad etwas beschwerlich, auch Moskitos sind so nah an den Sümpfen ein Thema. Wer das alles aber in Kauf nimmt und sich dessen bewusst ist, den erwartet ein traumhafter Urlaub. Wir werden sicher wieder kommen!

We found paradise on earth !

We just came back from a 6 -day holiday in Skala with our 3 children (19, 16, 11) and we had an amazing time. The house, the setting, the beach, the facilities...everything is just perfect. I would highly recommend this house for a family with older kids or a group of friends. So if you are looking for calm, access to your own deserted sandy beach, family time., your own pool/table tennis/volley ball court...this is the place ! The difficult road to access the property is a very small price to pay. every morning we went for a swim in the calm waters and every night watched the sunset whilst swimming in the sea (the sea was so hot - 27-28*) there is a small restaurant (they dont speak english) 10m walk from the beach (on the left) serving good and cheap local food / fresh fish If you are looking for animation, activities, ease of access....dont go as this would be wasted on you !

Très agréable séjour

Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la localisation, l’accès direct à la plage et l’ambiance paisible de la propriété. La maison est très bien équipée. La communication avec Marielle a été facile. Comme déjà précisé dans certains commentaires, la maison principale est équipée de 2 chambres, les 2 autres sont situées dans une tourelle plus isolée. Cette disposition est à prendre en compte pour les familles avec enfants.

Our big fat Greek vacation

We loved the stay in the house surrounded by olive and orange groves, with short path to deserted beach. House itself is very comfortable and lovely decorated, have all needed amenities. View form upper terrace is terrific, especially in the night. Food in tavernas in nearby villages is very good and affordable. We would like to come back here !

Großes Haus mit riesigem Garten hinter den Dünen mit schönem Meerblick und Pool. Sehr ruhig und abgeschieden. Ankommen & wohlfühlen. Zufahrtsstraße ist etwas wild.

Paradise

This is the most beautiful place our family has ever vacationed in. We were here with four of our kids between 12 and 25 - and they all loved it! Lot's of table tennis, table soccer playing and outdoor chess between swimming in sea&pool. The house and the tower are set in a 10.000 m2+ (3 acres) nicely kept garten, 100 meters from a beach of pure sand, empty for miles and with crystal clear water. The property is situated in the middle of an EU-sponsored national park - delta of the Evrotas river, bird&sea turtle sancuary. "Seas" of orange and olive trees around. The next house is a mile away - and is a rural restaurant set right on the beach. Nice walk! Nature meets culture here - the house offering a vast library of art books, a grand piano (freshly tuned, no less) and all technical amenities. The WLAN is slow - perfect for reading instead of the usual gaming for the kids. Also, this is a cozy and highly tasteful family home, not a property developed for tourists. Rare privilege to stay at such a place. The last kilometer on the access road is quite bumpy but safely doable with a normal car if you take care. We did not meet any mosquitos here! House&pool perfectly clean. Greatly hosted by Jacqueline, the nice grandmother, who even personally introduced us to Monemvasia, a must-see. Thank you very much! Excellent restaurants and sights pointed out in a guest-brief. Our favourites were the tavern in Drosopighi and in the small harbour of Eleia. Use of the maps supplied here is advised - our navigation system had trouble with the transcription of the Greek spelling of places here. We intend to be back. Highly recommended!

Lovely lovely house and compound, difficult drive in, 2 houses (difficult for children)

The house and compound are lovely. Wonderful taste, lovely decor, very comfortable and inviting. There are all sorts of amenities, from an external kitchen to a trampoline for kids. Isolated and quiet and very very lovely. We had a bit of a misunderstanding when we booked. The ad we saw did not specify that the sleeping options were divided between two houses. We came with three children and none of them wanted (nor did we want them) to sleep alone, even thought the houses are near each other. It is silent and dark and solitary on the premises. Our oldest (16) ended up sleeping in the living room on a mattress. The drive in is difficult and confusing. The roads are quite rough and full of ruts. There is no lighting if one needs to make the trip in the dark. Elpida, the woman who greeted us was lovely and courteous and helped a lot, but it was still very confusing and required real prep work to learn the route. We managed to get it right, but it requires careful driving. So take all that into consideration. for a family that wants peaceful isolation in very luxurious style (Airconditioning only on the lower floor, good ventilators in the bedrooms upstairs), this is a very good destination. But remember! the sleeping options are divided. That is difficult for any but the bravest kids. The drive in is confusing and requires some mastery.

Jolie maison dans la nature

Maison très agréable, on y vit dehors. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la jolie plage déserte à 100 m, l'environnement sauvage, la douche à ciel ouvert et la cuisine extérieure bien équipée. Localisation qui permet également de nombreuses visites.
