Kleines Ferienappartment in Erfurt-schmira

Welcome to our cozy vacation apartment in Erfurt-Schmira, near the trade fair grounds and the MDR.
Located right on the Way of St. James and in the shadow of St. Nicholas Church, in the heart of Schmira’s historic center, you can enjoy your stay in Erfurt. As a starting point for exploring Erfurt’s beautiful Old Town or taking trips to the surrounding area and the Thuringian Forest, you can reach all destinations quickly and easily from Schmira.

Schmira is located west of Erfurt on a ridge that stretches all the way to Gotha. The historic center of Schmira itself nestles in a valley. Here you can take lovely walks and forget the hustle and bustle of the city.

Our house is the old parsonage of Schmira. Built in the first half of the 18th century, it has retained much of its original charm. The mid-19th-century addition to our house, which houses the vacation apartment, has seen quite a few uses over the years. Originally built as a community hall, it was most recently used as a sauna. However, there were likely also times when the room served as a pigsty—though there’s no trace of that today.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a straight wall here, but you’ll feel right at home. In this light-filled space, complete with a fully equipped kitchen, you can relax and enjoy life. Our small garden offers the opportunity to make yourself comfortable outdoors as well.

The vacation apartment features a new and modern bathroom with underfloor heating. The living/sleeping area is bathed in light and comfortably furnished.

Our vacation apartment accommodates 2 people. However, there is certainly room for a baby crib (not provided).

The rental price includes a 5% cultural tax (7% starting 01/2027) levied by the city of Erfurt.

I renovated the vacation apartment in 2024 and would appreciate any feedback on how I can improve it. So please be open and let me know if there’s anything you need!
