This is a great little apartment for people looking to spend some time in Cannes, or attend one of the many conferences in town. It's simple and affordable with an amazing location - steps from the brilliant Marche Forville open-air market, one block away from the charming old town street Rue Sainte Antoine, 5 minutes walk from the Palais and the public beach, and right above great seafood restaurants (which, depending on how adventurous your spirit can be a plus or minus - you walk past the prep kitchens of these restos to get to the apartment and it can be a bit, well, fishy smelling).
The apartment itself has a gorgeous terrace overlooking the quaint shopping street Rue Meynadiar, and while there is no sea view, it's nice and quiet for sleeping. Plus, you can see the clock tower in the old town through the charming rooftops. Each room has a nice, firm, king bed and doors that open to the terrace. There is plenty of closet space (albeit all in one room) and the standalone AC unit is a godsend on hot summer days. The extra W/C is a bonus when travelling with friends or work companions. The couch can technically be used as a pullout but I definitely wouldn't recommend that for longer stays. It's not the largest or cushiest - it's more function than form but who hangs out on a couch when on holiday? But note: anyone averse to stairs will have to deal with a few flights of hard climbing - but in truth, I've stayed in half a dozen apartments in Cannes and this is the norm in these old buildings. Character over convenience!
Our host Ron was very attentive by email. And his on-the-ground partner Nick was ever-helpful.
This place is not luxe, but it's got everything you need to have a lovely time in Cannes and the location can't be beat. Walk out the door and off you go.
