Villa Ariadne - Stylish vacation home with all amenities

Villa Aridane is located in the small village of Melidoni in the Apakoronas region of Western Crete. Set in picturesque countryside with olive groves and views of the White Mountains, the house is close to the region's beautiful beaches, traditional villages and lively markets. Here you can enjoy authentic Crete in an idyllic setting - an ideal place to relax and explore!

The villa is built from traditional quarry stone and offers plenty of space for four people with two bedrooms, a living room, large balcony and terrace.

On the ground floor are the kitchen, two bedrooms, bathroom and guest toilet with shower. The living room and the very large balcony are on the first floor. The first bedroom has a double bed. The second bedroom has two single beds. Both bedrooms have their own air conditioning and patio doors to the garden. The living room is on the first floor of the house and has two exits to the large balcony. From the balcony you have fantastic views of the White Mountains, the bay of Souda and the beach of Georgioupoli.

The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden. The terrace is just above the pool in front of the house. Next to the house there is a bricked barbecue. The pool is 4m*8m. In the cooler months it can be heated with a pool heater (pool heating on request, € 15.00 per 24 hours).

The villa has a solar hot water system and a photovoltaic system so that during the sunny summer months electricity for the air conditioning and hot water are generated in an environmentally friendly way using only solar energy.

Bed linen, towels and pool towels are included in the price. The house is cleaned and linen changed every 4 days.

Please note that the Greek government has introduced a new levy, the Climate Resilience Levy, which is €15 per day per rental. The Climate Resilience Levy is included in the rental fees.

Melidoni is a small village with no bus connections. You will therefore need a hire car in any case.

Eine perfekte Auszeit in Melidoni :-DDieses Haus entspricht genau den Fotos und ist einfach toll - sauber, superschön, liebe voll gestaltet, großer Pool in absoluter Ruhelage mitten in der Natur. Die Ausstattung ist top - sogar die Messer schneiden :-P (ich kenne das auch anders). Geschirrspülertaps, Waschmaschinentabs, Kaffe & Tee und sogar eine kleines kulinarisches Willkommenspaket standen bereit. Man wohnt ziemlich abseits, das muss einem bei der Buchung klar sein, das war allerdings genau das, was wir wollten - einfach in Ruhe abschalten können und den tollen Ausblickgenießen. Alles in allem 100 % Weiterempfehlung von uns 3

Really beautiful property in a nice quiet location. Nice tavernas in driving distance in local untouristy villages. Very nice sized pool. House was spotlessly clean and has everything you need. Great recommendations from host on what to do in the local area which we just followed for the week were there. Highly recommended.

Peace & tranquility in the mountains

We very much enjoyed our stay at Villa Ariadne, which was well equipped with everything you might need. Admittedly, the drive to reach the villa is quite hairy but you are rewarded with spectacular views, peace and a cool climate (2-3oC cooler than the coast). The pool was perfect for a dip and the villa sympathetically decorated. We frequently visited Kalyves and enjoyed meals in Vamos. Susanne and Marianna were incredibly responsive to all our queries - they couldn't have been more helpful. A lovely, peaceful and authentic stay in Crete.

Beautiful stone-built house in spectacular mountain location

My wife and I plus our son and his girlfriend stayed for several nights in mid Spring and loved it. Strategic mountain location for Chania and Rethymnon and also close to road over White Mountains to Sfakia. Driving the final stretch from Pemonia to Melidoni is quite hairy so do take care!! Beautifully managed by Susanne and photos fully do the house justice. Marvelous crockery set and great welcome package!

Schöne Unterkunft mit herrlicher Aussicht auf die Weißen Berge

Wir haben eine tolle Woche im Oktober verlebt. Die Unterkunft ist super in Schuss, geräumig und bietet mit Pool, Riesen Terrasse und fantastischer Aussicht auf die Weißen Berge viele Anreite, einfach am Haus zu entspannen. Das Haus ist Teil eines kleinen Ensembles von Ferienhäusern. Alles sehr gepflegt und ruhig auf ca 409 Metern Höhe etwas außerhalb des Dorfes Melidoni gelegen (kleiner Tipp: Google Plus Code „ 94P8+RMR Melidoni, Griechenland“ ins Handy eingeben, damit man nicht im falschen Melidoni landet). Ansonsten braucht man ein Auto. Der nächste Supermarkt ist ca 10 Minuten Fahrt entfernt.

Serene mountain getaway

We loved being away from it all but with adventures nearby.. beaches, hiking, biking, small villages with excellent dining and historical value. An excellent option after hopping from island to island for some downtime .

Great property in a peacful and stunning location. Local shop just a short drive away, we were also able to visit local towns on the north and south coast of Crete. Fabulous tavernas close by made this a great holiday

Magical Place

There is something magical about relaxing by the pool while looking at the snow on the mountain peaks and then turning and seeing the Aegean in the distance. The hosts were wonderful and made us feel welcome without being obtrusive. The quiet at night was a peaceful respite after our time in Athens. We hope to return as the fates allow.

Great Hosts, Beautiful Home

Beautifully located in the foothills of Crete, but close to villages where you can shop for food, go to beaches, or find a nice taverna with traditional food. It was the highlight of our trip to Crete!

Fabulous villa in stunning location

I highly recommend Villa Ariadne. Spotlessly clean on arrival with a very generous welcome pack of provisions. The location is wonderful with views of the mountains and of the coastline, and with a generous sized swimming pool. You could easily laze away the days without moving from the villa and have a peaceful and restorative holiday. However, it's also great as a base to explore the countryside and the coast - only approx 20 mins drive to the nearest beach and 10-15 to the main east-west road that takes you to other parts of the island (car is essential if staying here). Hosts very responsive if you need anything. Cannot fault anything about the stay - truly wonderful.

Wonderful family holiday

We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful villa. The location is truly magical. It was well equipped for families with great cot and high chair, also plastic cup/plate/bowls which was very helpful. A starter pack of ‘basics’ was also really helpful. Our daughter loved playing in the shallow walled off area of the swimming pool which she immediately claimed as hers. The owners were very responsive and helpful prior to the holiday, and lovely when we met them in Crete. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone looking for a chilled holiday location.

We booked 10 days at Villa Ariadne, largely on the basis of previous reviewers' comments... They weren't wrong! The location (quiet, peaceful, relaxing, extraordinary views), the property itself (well equipped, tastefully furnished, thoughtful touches courtesy of the owners) and our hosts Samantha and Jerry (friendly, welcoming, helpful, unobtrusive) -- all lived up to the promise. Unquestionably 5 stars.

Peace of paradise

The stay on creta and the villa is stunning in all ways. The kind welcome from Samantha and jerry was felt through groceries and a perfect full of detail and equipement villa which made us feel like a home right away. Be prepared to stunning views to the sea and mountains. The sounds of goats. We saw an owl in The beautiful garden with fruit, bbq and the pool with great temperature in October. There’s nothing I can think of which we didn’t love about this place. We recommend highly and would love to come back.

Fabulous villa

We had a fabulous holiday. The villa was just what we wanted. Situated in a quiet, beautiful setting with stunning views. The villa was perfect and well equipped. On arrival we were met by Samantha which was lovely. The little touches were thoughtful for example the welcome pack of food essentials, towels etc. You need a car to get about but we like that. Beach was 15 minutes away with lots of restaurants to choose from. The best part of the villa was definitely the pool kids loved. Would highly recommend, would certainly return

Beautiful

We had a wonderful time at this villa. Up in hills and away from it all you really get a feel for authentic western Crete. Easy to get to Chania, Chora Svakion etc but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to relax and enjoy the peaceful location. Pool was immaculate and the village Tavernas nearby were a joy. Thoroughly recommend.
