We had a lovely stay at this beautiful mountain cabin! My favorite part was the hot tub on the back deck with an amazing view! We watched the sunset every night from the hot tub. Our days were spent relaxing in the cabin or hiking on one of the MANY awesome hiking trails nearby. We also spent a little time shopping and eating in Breckenridge. We are flatlanders from Texas, so the altitude did require some prep. We purchased Boost Oxygen bottles from Dick's Sporting Goods in Colorado Springs before heading up to the cabin, but I noticed they have them in many stores in Breckenridge as well. I found the Boost very helpful when I was feeling a little breathless or dizzy. We also tried our best to stay hydrated and to rest and relax on our first day there. We probably would've done even better if we'd avoided caffeine and alcohol, but the cabin's back deck was way too tempting to not enjoy my morning coffee or my evening wine/cocktail on it! Oh well! Luckily, the mountain spring water straight from the sink tap was just as good to help us stay hydrated as much as possible. I also found the humidifier provided in the cabin very helpful. We used it nightly along with our saline nasal spray! Dinner was easy to prepare in the kitchen. We had almost everything we needed or we were able to improvise. The only things I missed from home in the kitchen were a cocktail jigger or small measuring cup (with ounces) and kitchen sheers. I was glad to see that the kitchen had a coffee bean grinder and coffee maker with a reusable metal filter (no paper filters necessary). There were also angel wings wine openers and acrylic wine glasses that you can use in the hot tub. In the bathrooms, there was liquid shampoo and liquid soap, but I would suggest bringing plenty of lotion for high-altitude dry skin and don't forget your chapstick! The sheets on the bed were amazing, but we found the comforter was a little too thick and woke us up too hot. However, there are thinner blankets provided in the cabin that we could've/should've used instead. I also appreciated the jars of birdseed next to the back door! It was so fun to set some out and watch the beautiful Steller's Jays, Magpies, and squirrels come visit for a little meal throughout the day, even while we were in the hot tub! I loved having my binoculars with me as well to look at all the birds, mountains, & stars a little closer. All in all, it was a fabulous stay for us in the Colorado Mountains! Thank you, Cathy!
