We are sorry that we were unable to have the repairs made during your visit. We respected your right to refuse entry although our insured and bonded staff would have made repairs while you were enjoying the beach or a nearby venue. Gulf Interlude is a popular unit in a popular resort. That means it is booked week after week for months without any down time. We have access to the unit for approximately 6 hours in-between departure and arrival of new guests. Since we do not typically know about maintenance issues until they are reported by a guest, and most of those are reported during departure, we lack opportunity to get repairs done during any "down time". As soon as you departed, the roller mechanism for the bedroom sliding door to balcony was replaced, that makes it easy to open and close the door again. We know it was difficult for you to use and we are sorry. The marks on the kitchen ceiling that had what we believe to have been grapes splattered on it has been cleaned, kilzed and painted. The baseboard in the main hall which was obviously run over by a luggage cart brought inside the unit, a violation of policy, has been repaired and painted. Again, we are sorry we were not allowed to make these improvements during your stay but the guests did respond with a rather aggressive denial when asked for permission to have the work done.

we are happy that you were pleased with the location, size, set up and decor of "Gulf Interlude" We regret that you had problems with drains and wish we had known that while you were in the condo. we would have come over and "snaked" the lines to correct the problem. We do not know that drains are slow unless a guest does report because cleaning the unit does not require as much water as showering and bathing. Guests in the unit since this visit haven't notified us of an issue. Due to this complaint, we will be "snaking" the lines today. The condo has had many upgrades during the past 2 months including: a new living room suite, new linens, new decorative pillows, new pictures in the living room, master bedroom and guest room. 3 new flat screen televisions, The Berber carpet is fine and has been cleaned and we've asked the housekeepers to give special attention to the baseboards. They are always touched up (paint) late fall due to damage and marks from vacuum and unfortunately, luggage carts! We provide a telephone and email contact for all of our guests upon arrival. Both of them are monitored 24 hours a day. We hope that guests will contact us anytime we can do something to enhance their satisfaction.

We are sorry the guests described their visit as a disappointment. Even after reading the review, we are still sorry that were were unable to extend the reservation granting a longer stay. There were in fact some issues that required attention during the guests stay. There was damage to the ceiling of the unit from above. The entire, throughout the condo ceiling has been textured and painted. There is not any peeling paint on walls, there has been damage to the baseboard in the main hall, this is a recurring problem from people bringing luggage carts into the unit. The baseboard repair and painting has been scheduled. The diverter valve in the master bedroom did break while the guests were in the unit. That was replaced while guests were there and is not an issue. The carpet was not and is not dirty. The carpet along with the one year old living room sofa, love seat and chair, all dining room chairs and 2 bedroom chairs were professionally steam cleaned the day after these guests left. We tried to get this done while they were there but the guests refused to let the Carpet Cleaning company into the unit. The front door is secure with 2 locks. It is metal and it has been damaged by having a luggage rack rammed into it. The place where the dent is, clearly matches the raised handle portion of the luggage racks. The resort association is aware of this, they are responsible for the outside portion of the door and have it on a list for replacement. The cosmetic blemish is slight. The washer and dryer are conveniently in the pantry. They are 2 years old and facilitate a full load. They are perfectly accessible to any normal size adult. We are sorry the guests were disappointed and glad that many of our guests are repeat guests. Anytime anyone is staying at Gulf Interlude we hope they will let us know while they are in the unit if they are less than 100% pleased and give us the opportunity to correct anything that needs attention. The condo is busy and during the busiest season, things may break down or stop working, i.e. the valve in one of the 2 bathrooms, unless we are notified we can't do anything about it. If guests are not respectful of the unit and leave with soiled carpet, etc. we need to be able to get into the unit to correct and put back into the pristine condition we want all of our guests to enjoy.

This bad review is very surprising. As awful as they describe, we can't understand why they gave us a 3 out of 5 and why they didn't report any of this while they were in the condo. We are also surprised because they are not describing Gulf Interlude. The kitchen refrigerator is less than a year old, the solid surface stove didn't have any problem with the door closing prior or after their visit. The microwave is 2 years old. the "busted" front door is metal and does have a dent in it from being hit with a luggage cart. It does open and close perfectly and it does have the door lock and a security lock attached to it. The slider in the living room had a new track installed just before summer and it does open much easier when the stick that's serving as an additional "lock" is removed from the track. The carpet was cleaned immediately after the guests departed, it did need it. We don't understand the black socks issue. We wish we had known the guests concern, we would have had it cleaned while they were out on the beach. It is cleaned by a local company and looks great now. We have never had complaints about the beds since replacing the box springs and mattresses. As one of the owners, I have stayed there myself and do have to adjust to the extra firm mattress in both rooms because I am not accustomed to that. They are in very good shape but they are "FIRM" The sleeper in the living room is a posture-pedic gold and the entire living room suite is less than 2 years old.

We are disappointed and shocked by this review. The condo has new furniture, new televisions, new linens, new refrigerator, new 1 ton Air Conditioner to name a few of the recent upgrades. There was a problem with exhaust fan - it has been replaced, there was a 2-3 inch seam coming undone in the bathroom wallpaper, it has been secured. there was food and or grease stain on the ceiling of the kitchen, the entire condo ceiling has been painted. We do an inspection the same day every guest arrives, we request they inspect as soon as they arrive and let us know by phone or email if ANYTHING is not to their liking so we can address, correct etc. it. These guests didn't let us know anything was not to their liking until the 3rd day they were in the condo and then refused to let us come in to make any corrections or inspection. We honored their demand that we stay out. The guests had another guest check in 2 days after they were there, they will be leaving tomorrow but have already booked for a week next September. We are not perfect but we want to be and we hope that all of our guests will desire to return. We are much more accustomed to that than to guests getting angry because we will not discount their stay when they make complaints the 3rd day of their stay and refuse to let us in to verify their report or to make corrections. We are sorry this guest was not happy.

We are sorry that the system does make it impossible for us to talk to potential guests prior to the reservation but we always try to answer every question through the system as soon as they appear. Once guests have completed the reservation request, Vrbo makes our contact information available and we are happy to hear from our guests. Additionally, we send a personalized guest contract/ rental agreement with much information and additional contact opportunities. Once guests arrive they are given a telephone number that is monitored 24/7 for our guests convenience.. We hope to have excellent communication with our guests because we are interested in helping create a great experience on the beach.

Obviously, we were shocked and disappointed by the review. The condo has received numerous good and excellent reviews online and off all year. We are sorry you didn't have the same experience our guests typically do. The living room furniture, washer and dryer, televisions (3), pictures (7) and bedding are all less than a year old. We are sorry that the master bath exhaust fan went out while you were visiting. It has been replaced. the very small hole next to it, we don't have any idea how that NEW hole got there but it has been taken care of as well. The paper in the guest bath has some sem problems. We thought that had been corrected and apologize that it wasn't. It has now been corrected and although the paper is in good shape, it may be removed as it was in the kitchen. We didn't have any idea that the Maintenance staff was investigating the leak, above our unit, as coming from our unit. We've had to completely replace and re-surface our kitchen ceiling twice due to an un-detected leak above our unit. Our refrigerator, nor the water line to it, are the problem. We are sorry your report indicates the resort staff wasn't conscientious about putting things back as they found them. We hate the fact that you were inconvenienced. Please keep us in mind for future trips and if you do; please contact us by email or phone if you ever find anything that's in need of attention. The maintenance issues that came up, occurred during the guests stay and each was addressed and or corrected as they became an issue. This included: a leak under the kitchen sink and one of the phones quit working. We are sorry about inconvenience. The condo is well maintained and underwent major upgrades during the past six months. We inspect in-between stays but are unable to predict when something may not work as expected. All of our guests are given a 24 hour monitored phone and email to contact us seven days a week and we pride ourselves in being highly responsive. Satisfaction is expected and we hope that our guests are more than satisfied. Returning guests and positive feedback are out rewards.

We are sorry you didn't find the unit up to our normal excellent housekeeping standard. We do wish you had contacted us upon arrival, to let us know that so we could have had a cleaning crew come over and see what was wrong and correct it. The condo was cleaned and inspected prior to your arrival. This unit is normally left in excellent condition and I am sorry it wasn't for you. The kitchen is well stocked with ample service and cookware for six people to be able to dine twice before washing if they should choose to run the dishwasher once while enjoying the beach or sleeping. We too have found that everyone is not always particular about inspecting the dishware and pots when they are staying in the unit. We will begin inspecting the ones in storage to prevent your experience from happening to anyone else, and regret that you found soiled items stored in with the clean. The pantry shelves are typically used to store groceries, they are five shelves available. Although it is a typical small kitchen, it is larger than many condo or apartment kitchens and we've never had a complaint about it being too small for a person to enjoy, it is open to the family room and you can see the Gulf from the kitchen. Unfortunately, bulbs blow and you can't anticipate that so, we keep 2 extra bulbs in the pantry. We would have gladly come over and changed them for you had we known they were out before cleaning after your departure. We are glad you liked the decor with new art work, furniture, 3 new televisions, new linens, etc. We very glad you liked the location and glad you had a nice time. We are very sorry that we didn't know or see the things you found in the floor when it was vacuumed or inspected. There is simply no excuse or explanation. I only wish we had been informed at the time so we could have assured it was 100% pleasing to you. We hope you will give us another chance. We provide 3 contact methods for all of our guests and request they inspect the unit upon arrival and notify us if anything isn't PERFECTLY PLEASING.

We are sorry and surprised. Housekeepers and Inspector missed the water bottle and Doritos. Not even a clue but sorry you found them. The floors were vacuumed but the vacuum was also replaced today.
