In the last 5 years with more than 70 stays, we have not had an issue with missing glassware. We have managed short term rentals for many years and have clear procedures on cleaning, inventory, and assessing normal wear and tear on the items in the home. There were 6 small glasses and 6 tall glasses documented before the guest’s stay. Initially, the guest said the tall glasses were not used and then after pointing out there were not enough small glasses to accommodate the listed party of 8 , the story then changed to - “Look for the glasses in the freezer.” The glasses were not found in the freezer nor elsewhere in the property. The guest was informed of this and that $10.00 would be deducted. The email exchange can be found below. It is clear that there is no harassment and the guest was never contacted by the owner. On July 25th, the guest was sent the following email: Hello Nadine, There are one house key and two tall drinking glasses missing. Please let us know where you put them. Best Regards, Anna Nguyen The guest called our office and told us that the extra house key should be in the lockbox and that the glasses were in the dishwasher. This email was sent in response: Hello Nadine, We went through our inventory and checked the dishwasher and didn’t see two tall drinking glasses. There were small drinking glasses only in the dishwasher. Thank you! Best Regards, Anna Nguyen We were sent this response from the guest: “We only used the small glasses” Another email was sent in response: Hello Nadine, Before your check-in, we checked our list of items, there were 6 small glasses and 6 tall glasses. After your check-out, we clearly noticed that there are 2 tall glasses missing. I had our cleaning staff check the cupboards and all the places in the house, there are 6 small glasses and 4 large glasses that remain. I noticed your reservation was for a party of 8. Perhaps 6 small glasses were used along with 2 tall glasses. Best Regards, Anna Nguyen. We received the following reply: “My husband said to check the freezer for the glasses.”

This was a disappointing review to receive from this guest. This is the message we received when she checked out: Julie, Thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful home! We truly enjoyed our stay and should be out by 9AM today. Best, Joann This guest was informed that during her stay, there was over $2000.00 worth of damage done to the dining room table from the estimates for repair that we received. We only deducted $1000.00 yet the guest has chosen to write a review that is contrary to what she sent to us before the deduction.
