2006 marked our first visit to Costa Rica. I was advised to book something on the Pacific. Our first visit in 2006 we initially put deposits on two condos which were a 25 minute drive to Tamarindo and which Thank God, fell through. Flamingo was supposed to have a Mall and Marina coming. It's 2019 and that development never happened but it was a great selling point for those who bought the story. We returned in 2008, but this time booked a Condo with the absolute agreement that we were returning for the beauty and would “Absolutely and Positively" not buy. Obviously, that didn’t happen either. The condo we booked in Langosta was too long of a walk on a dirt road in the 88-95 weather with the sun beating down on you so we drove to Tamarindo rather than walking. We were scheduled to return home in two day when we finally got to see the Impressive LaPerla Condo Building perched up on a hill that was under construction. When I saw it was 2200 sq. ft., a 50% deposit was easy to part with immediately in 2008.
We closed 2 1/2 years later in July 2011. On our visit first vacation in 2006, we drove to Tamarindo everyday where there’s a town, people, activity, surf,.: Where there was something going on. Also, having two sons, we wanted a location that would entice them to come. Tamarindo has the right surf for beginners. It sits between Playas Langosta and Playa Grande for the advanced surfers. You can walk along the seashore to Playa Langosta or walk across or take a $2 boat ride across the Estuary to Playa Grande. The water is refreshing and warm everywhere. It's sunny every day. You can walk to grocery stores, Medical Clinic , even a tennis court 3 minutes from us.all of which are between 2-6 minute walk.
