I did a happy dance when Neil got back to us telling us this was available. I think he should rename the boat Speechless in Seattle! I even live on the water in South Florida, but this view is JUST ABSOLUTELY MIND-BLOWING! It’s like a moving portrait. The interplay of skull teams, row boats, seaplanes, shipping vessels, SUP Boarders, kayaks and yes….even a Hot Tub Boat filled like a jacuzzi cruising around the bay….it was a nonstop feast for the eyes. Watching a full moon set over the Space Needle was a jaw dropper.
Denise was just awesome. Grateful for the great advice. The beds were ridiculously comfortable. Perfect for our family of 4. The fish tank that lights up every night was amusing as the cast of characters changed throughout the day. It took us 4 days to see the starfish! Most Uber rides were $5-$10. There is a bakery, Thai and Italian restaurant within walking distance.
The first day we went over to Chandlers Crabhouse for lunch. Our waiter was amazing and the food was fantastic, but the $300 lunch tab was a bit crazy. One night we picked up the Thai food down the street and brought it back to the boat for a beautiful evening. The food was excellent. We picked up huge lobster tails at Pike's Market and steamed them. YUM! A first for us was trying Din Tai Fung for dumplings. That was an amazing meal. Barely squeezed in Serafinas our last night in Seattle. I think I would have cried if we missed that particular mouthful of extraordinary. Fantastic service and just about the most amazing Italian dinner I have experienced (I am not messing around…I grew up dining in the North End in Boston!)
We did the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and MoPop in one day. MoPop (Museum of pop culture) was a BLAST! The Star Trek exhibit and Sound Labs were favorites. Of course Chihuly is unmissable. I am not sure whether our son will choose University of Washington or Northeastern University, but I want to beg him to come here so we can stay again!!!
*check hot tub upon arrival so you can ask Denise to get it setup if it has evaporated. It was hot but no bubblers, but we sat in it anyway and had a lovely evening. Also, no privacy between any rooms if that is not obvious by the size of the boathouse. Everyone can hear everything from every room, including hearing everything anyone says as they pass by at 2:00 in the morning by boat...LOL! (It was usually "Wow! Can you imaging living there??") Also, no seasonings and few knives. You can hack a meal, though.
