FABULOUS 'The Magnolia Garden Bungalow' (#141214) in Santa Cruz is a perfect friends and family getaway. Everyone loves how quiet the neighborhood is! The interior is tasteful, comfortable and has original art throughout. Outdoor Garden areas for you to relax in and barbecue too! The Hot Tub is private, hot and sparkling clean! Excellent location! It's a 5 min stroll to Capitola Village. Also close by and walking distance is 38th Ave Surf Sanctuary Beach (low tide pools to explore & dog walking ) and Bike path, EastSide Eatery, Pleasure Pizza, Suda, Penny Ice Creamery, Verve Coffee Cafe, Betty's Burgers, Cliff Cafe, Pono's Hawaiian, Cinelux Theater etc. Grocery stores nearby are New Leaf, Wholefoods, Trader Joes, etc. A few miles away is the magical Boardwalk. Also going to Natural Bridges to view the Monarch Butterflies hanging from Eucalyptus trees is a must! The living room has a 50" 4K TV ( Netflix, Prime video, Youtube). Front bedroom has a King sized bed & 36" TV the bedroom has hardwood floors, Oriental rug & French doors that lead out to a lovely front garden. French doors lead out to Hot Tub ( Maintained by Hot Tub Water Specialist). The Living Room has 3 couches ( one has a hide a bed) with slip covers, Oriental rug, Flokati rugs on back of couches, & 50" 4K TV. The house is clean and sunny. Dining room has custom Marble table top , Comfortable Dining Chairs, Kitchen; Concrete Counter tops, Thermador Oven, Dishwasher, Wine refrigerator, Coffee Maker, Espresso machine, Coffee Grinder, Toaster, Micro Wave, Blender, large selection of Pots and Pans ( Le Creuset, All- Clad etc), Stocked spices and condiments. Altogether there are 3 Flat Screen TVs, Hot Tub, Wireless Internet, Barbeque. Original Paintings/Art, 'Heather Glass' Carved Glass throughout home, , Comfortable Linens, one of the 3 Couches has a hide a bed. Fireplace Hearth, Shampoos and Hair Conditioner.
Dogs Welcome! The front fenced yard is available for dog visitors to enjoy & feel comfortable too!

Perfect location

We really loved staying at this house. So perfect to travel with our dog. The location was great and just a short walk to downtown Capitola. Private and beautifully landscaped!

Great house and close to everything

We had a great stay at this house. It is well stocked, clean and comfortable. It was close to all the good surf spots. We would stay here again! The host is super sweet and very accommodating.

Awesome stay

Everything is top notch. Sara and all the things she does to make your stay comfortable from luxury linens to treats ( both human and for dog) to beautiful gardens to her beautiful artwork and providing a relaxing atmosphere are more than expected. We have stayed here many times and plan to return soon.

Magnolia Garden Home

Excellent place to stay! The host was great at Communicating with me. She had so many thoughtful touches that made us feel special and very welcomed. Her garden is amazing, just something out of a fairytale!! I highly recommend this place to stay - one of the best places.

We enjoyed our stay over Thanksgiving holiday. Great location, easy walking distance to stores, beach, Verve coffee. Sara was only a text away. Kitchen is set up with everything you could possibly need. love the vintage feel.

This is the second time we stayed at Sara’s house. Location is great. The bungalows two large bedrooms and two baths plus kitchen dining and living room you couldn’t ask for more. Everything is complementary beautifully to make you stay comfortable and enjoyable

Wonderful weekend getaway

My family enjoyed a nice weekend getaway. Sara was a wonderful host... responding to communication promptly, even during our stay. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and some tasty treats as well! She was very helpful and understanding when we had to change our dates due to the Santa Cruz fires. The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious for my family of 4.

We loved this cottage by Pleasure Point Beach

This cottage was perfect for my husand and I, our teenage son and our dog, Blue. It was cozy and artistic. The king size bed in the main room was one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in while traveling. The hot tub was large, secluded and fit the whole family in. We loved the little garden area in the front. It was a great location, walking distance to coffee, restaurants and the ocean. And, Sara, the owner, was very accomdodating to all our needs. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic spot for small family and dogs!

My wife, 1yo son and I had a great Labor day weekend at Sara's house. The house was a perfect set up for us and a home base for the Santa Cruz area. It was a short walk to both Pleasure Point and Capitola where we were able to hang out at the beaches and have some great meals. We also felt right at home at the house which is in a quiet beachside neighborhood. The hot tub was new and hot when we arrived. There was an outside patio area for our dogs to hang out and a grill area. Inside was very clean and the fridge was fully stocked with wine and beer when we arrived! I highly recommend for a home base to explore the Santa Cruz area!

Our favorite getaway!

We have stayed in many VRBO properties and this is our favorite. We have had the pleasure of visiting multiple times and enjoyed each one. The neighborhood is quiet, the gardens are beautiful, the decor is peppered with original art and comfy furnishings and Sara, the host, is wonderful. The King size bed is just right and the shower in the back bedroom is perfect. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and we have cooked everything from tacos to chili to pasta and fish. We all enjoyed the treats provided by Sara and our dog enjoys the fenced in front yard and walks in the neighborhood. There are plenty of restaurants close by and some within walking distance. We are looking forward to our next stay in a month or so.

Pleasure Point Oasis

Sara's 2bed/2bath home was a perfect oasis to start our Thanksgiving week at. Clean, comfortable (oh the beds!), with so many personal touches that made us feel right at home. And the location is wonderfully situation a half block away from 41st, so can easy walk to shops, eateries, coffee shops... as well as Pleasure Point and Capitola. As a host, Sara was super easy to communicate with & welcomed us warmly: a bottle of wine, a little puzzle for our kids, and even a toy for our pup. Check in/out couldn't have been easier. And while they live at the back of the property, they really designed the backyard and gates to provide privacy for all. We will definitely keep this lovely home in rotation for our future SC weekend getaways!

Welcoming and so comfortable.

Sara is the consummate hostess. This is our second visit and she did not disappoint. Since it was the beginning of December the house was tastefully decorated with a few nods to the holidays. She even had the burning Yule log running on the TV as we entered. We immediately felt the coziness of the house and we were so welcomed by the many treats she left for us and the dog. The house is very clean, the bed and sheets comfy and living room couches and pillows so inviting for lazy reading time or watching TV. Again the location is perfect and within short walks to dining and craft beer quaffing. We will be back!

Great spot close to downtown and dog friendly

Communication with owner was excellent. She left gifts for our dogs and bottle of wine for my friends bday. Beds were so comfortable, I slept great. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms were perfect either for Two singles or two couples. The larger of the two yards is a shared entrance woth the owner so careful leaving dogs out there without supervision and the other areas are better suited for smaller dogs. Parking in driveway is great. Kitchen well equipped if you are cooking. Comfortable house would go back. We didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub but is a bonus!

Bad VRBO experience

Not very good at all. No hot water for two days. Cold showers in December are not fun. Sink and garbage disposal broke and were inoperable for three days. This made Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meals difficult. Plumbers told us we should get a refund since the sink and disposal were clogged with black gunk and goo for a really long time. Owner offered nothing. Will not return, ever.

Convenient, Spacious and Welcoming

We absolutely enjoyed our stay and so did our dog. Sara knows how to make her guests feel welcomed, with a welcome note and treats for all. The house was more than enough room for us and I would recommend that it would also be great for two couples or for a family. One excellent feature is a door between the living room and the bedrooms in case some guests are nights owls and like to visit or watch TV late or if someone is using the living room as a sleeping area. The room with the king size bed also opens to the front yard which was convenient when our dog wanted to go out after bedtime. The location is perfect as there are many restaurants close by and you are within walking distance of Capitola ( the walk back is all up hill though) but really, nothing is very far when in Santa Cruz. We will definitely go back and we are planning our next visit already.

Fabulous family time, with adult children

This was our first VRBO experience, and we were pleased with every aspect of our stay. Compared to hotels, this was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, safe, and relaxing. We appreciated the original art work, the tropical gardens, and the comforts of home. Our small, older dog was happier than he has ever been on a trip. The location is ideal, as the property is set between Capitola and Santa Cruz, just under half a mile from the beach. Thank you to Sara, our host, who went above and beyond to accommodate parking for my son's SUV and trailer. Wonderful memories: kayaking in Santa Cruz, an elegant, delicious meal at Shadowbrook, and relaxing in the hot tub. Everything went smoothly, and we felt at home. We loved our first VRBO stay! Lovely spring break getaway

The 4 days Days we spent here were fantastic. Not only was the weather great but the house was everything that we wanted. And I really appreciate it how beautiful the flowers were in bloom and our communicative the host Sarah is. They do live in the cottage behind the house so if you're someone who wants to make a lot of noise I don't recommend this house. It was perfect for my family of four. We were able to bring our dog. He's really small so we felt comfortable keeping him in such a lovely home. I can tell you that the couches are the most comfortable couches I've ever experienced. This place is in Santa Cruz but you're walking distance from a lot of restaurants in Santa Cruz but you're also walking distance from restaurants and Capitola. We walked into Capitola daily. The walk back from Capitola is not for anyone who may have knee problems because it's a little steep but it's not unmanageable. And the view is stupendous.

Memories of the Boardwalk, sandy beaches, and beautiful surroundings is something I've never tired of. I have lived in Santa Cruz for 42 yrs. and counting. I enjoy riding horses, gardening, painting. photography, and walks along the beach with my dog. I do portraits of animals in Pastels, Oils & Acylics.

I loved that Magnolia Garden Bungalow is close to many beaches and Capitola Village! The street is very quite, which is great for sleeping in. And if you like to walk to restaurants, there's a choice of just about every style and taste. Along with a nearby brewery and outdoor seating to bring your dog along .

The Gardens create a privacy and tranquility with Teak garden furniture and tables. My guests comment that the interior feels like a home away from home. I'm also happy to report many compliments on the mattresses being so comfortable!! I source linen & bedding from luxury brands. It's centrally located near the beach in a quite peaceful neighborhood. Capitola Village is 5 minutes away. The 38th Ave. Surf Sanctuary/Bike path is a great place for a walk along the cliffs on the ocean. Restaurants; EastSide Eatery, NuBo Brewery, Penny Ice Creamery,Verve Coffee Roasting, Cliff Cafe, Whole Foods, TraderJoe's, Theaters,Shopping etc., all a short stroll away.
