Loved the lake side location. It was a close drive for crabbing and beach walking. The house was cute with plenty of room for everyone. Only wish the wifi strength was a little stronger, it would disconnect every 5&10 minutes.

Excellent Lake House

Beautiful location. Lots of room inside. Very clean. Private dock. This place had everything. No TV but we were fine without. And although other reviews indicated problems with a neighbor, we have to add that the neighbor in question greeted us and told us to feel free to turn around in his driveway if needed. Will definitely stay here again.

Fun stay

Beautiful location, the price was great. Yes it's dated and a little run down, but it's got everything you need, well equipped kitchen, lots of beds. We brought our inflatable kayaks and having the dock right there was perfect. We had a great time.

A lake house that fits your basic needs!

We had a wonderful stay at this house! The view and dock were amazing! The water access was very secluded and well worth the challenging drive in which we were accustomed to with where we live currently and didn’t mind. A tv and dishwasher would be nice additions but it fulfilled our needs just fine. We appreciated the stay!

Quaint, open floor plan

Cute old fashioned cabin, basic necessities. Do make sure you review check in instructions and take pictures of instructions, codes before leaving town and having cell phone reception. There is wi-fi once you get in. Once we got in, was a beautiful stay. Would love to stay here again.

Amazing Location

We loved the lake! The dock, and porches were in great condition. There was plenty of room outdoors to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. We ate most of our meals on the deck, and played games, and listen to music. We fished and swim. The only thing I would change, is next time I’d like to stay longer!

Solid 3+stars. And, I'd go back.

While the property might feel a bit tired and worn (certainly dated), access to the lake and seclusion is hard to beat. Amenities and essentials are there and the house offers a surprising number of beds given the cost. There are some things that you'll miss, maybe many. However, if the point is to be able to unplug and be on a lake, it's a pretty great landing spot.

Peace and quiet

The driveway is very long if you are worried about your car getting scratched don't book this place. Great spot on the lake, great to relaxing, but if you planning on going out every day to see Florence. Just keep in mind that it gets tedious driving back in and out every time. My dog love swimming in the lake and so did my kids.

Great dock, house to be desired!

If it wasn’t for the dock and water access the house would be rated as a 2. It needs to be deep cleaned and a good coat of paint. Ok kitchen supplies but if you like coffee bring your own pot.

Great home for the price!

This place is outdated and has a list of things that could be improved....but that's why we liked it. Had a rustic feel and you can't complain about anything for the price. Yes, if it were more expensive, things would need to be updated. We had an awesome stay and the view is absolutely breathtaking. The neighbor is a salty character but we had no problems. I think if you are being respectful, he just minds his business. Would definitely stay here again!

I was very disappointed when arriving at the cabin. It wasn’t at all like it was described in Vrbo. The cabin was no longer red but green, and with no address on it, we had a hard time locating it. The cabin looked like an abandoned house from the outside and the inside. First the access key was wrong, upon entering the interior was even worse. Very dirty from the kitchen, sitting area, bathroom, bedroom, and floors. The cabin also had a horrible smell that made it hard to breathe. On top of all that the furniture was not like the pictures. It looked like someone came in and replaced it with whatever they found in the junk yard. As a concerned parent I was not about to let my family sleep, bathe, or eat in such a horrible place. We were forced to spent our vacation in hotels and eat in restaurants the whole time. The food we bought for our trip spoiled and was thrown out since we had no where to store it or cook it. We spend 5,000 more than anticipated on this trip. We have been using Vrbo for many years and never had any problems in the past. But for some reason they joined forces with another company called Vacasa. I didn’t notice until after the purchase was done. Be careful Vacasa ruined our family vacation. They absolutely turned our vacation into a nightmare.

My family and I stayed at the Rustic Retreat on Mercer Lake, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing.The only positive aspect of this rental was the beautiful lake view — it truly is a peaceful and scenic spot. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay did not meet expectations.When we arrived, there were no lights along the pathway to the house, which made carrying luggage down the steps to the deck difficult and unsafe in the dark. The home itself is very outdated, and the photos online are not accurate to its current condition.Inside, it was clear the property is not professionally cleaned — we found cobwebs and dead bugs throughout the house, including in one of the beds. The downstairs area was in especially poor condition: it smelled musty and moldy, one blind was covered in mold and wouldn’t close, and the curtains were hung with strings that didn’t provide any privacy. The shower and bathroom also seemed unclean and neglected. Two family members who stayed downstairs even felt unwell due to the mold.We also noticed multiple cameras around the property, which made us feel uncomfortable. At one point, we placed a cup at the end of the driveway to help another family member find the rental, and the next day it had mysteriously been moved back toward our area — which added to the uneasy feeling of being watched.To make matters worse, on our last day, the water was shut off completely. We couldn’t shower, use the bathroom, or even clean up before left

This is our 3rd time staying in this Rental, Absolutely love it, we have had so much fun every time, this time was no exception =D BEAUTIFUL VIEW ALL DAY. Weather was great, Water was Fresh, House is a little outdated, but We did not choose it for fanciness. It has everything we needed. I love the New outdoor paint color, and the Layout change in the downstairs room. Hours on end in the water was Everyone favorite part. Thanks for sharing your home with us. We left lots of firewood for the next guest <3

The neighbor does not want renters there and very inaccessible

The gate was locked by the neighbor and we were harassed three times by the neighbor within 12 hours. Also very the stairs everywhere made it very inaccessible for elderly. Beautiful location, not much else provided
