Peaceful and beautiful view of the lake

Very nice house on the lake. Perfect for a couple and a dog. You can enjoy the view from the dock on the lake or from a bench on a deck below the house. The bed on the loft is comfortable. We would stay there again.

Pleasant Lake getaway

The home was a nice lake cottage with great views of Mercer Lake. The pathway onto the dock and the overlooking deck are a bit aged, but worth utilizing. Nice sunbathing/swimming area on the floating dock. Outdoor patio and grill are a great location for dinner time.

Relaxing cabin on one of the best coastal lakes in Oregon

The location is perfect. Just enough off the beaten path, and yet close enough to quickly drive to town. This place is on Lake Mercer with its own dock. The location alone is worth the stay. Small and cozy, but feels spacious at the same time with vaulted ceilings and a large bathroom.

Clean home

Loved the cleanliness, no doggy smells, no bugs, bedding was clean up stairs. A very nice serine setting, quiet neighborhood. Did have some trouble with the lock box and finding Archer Rd. was a little tricky.

Quaint and great location but worn.

This home is pleasantly old-fashioned. Exposed beams in loft bedroom make it unique. Other architecture shows the creativity if the builder. It is a beautiful location right in the water. As others have mentioned the parh to the boat dock is definitely narrow with roots and brush close to a person when walking to it. You have to pay attention when walking. Good news : the road to the left is a county road and you can put water craft in there and access is really easy. Location is a quick drive into Florance and the beaches.

Great location

The home worked well for our needs except for the walkway to the dock which is extremely dangerous. There is no safe way to get to the dock unfortunately, which is one reason to rent this home.

Needs a lot of work

Beautiful setting but the house badly needs upkeep and repairs. All the walls are filthy dirty, there are several cracks and very soft spots in the floor, the entire place feels very unsafe. I was pretty nervous about all the safety concerns but we’re only here a day and a half so decided to tough it out.

Lake house

There was just two of us who stayed here for a few days and it was a lovely home. I would say it would be a little small for 6 people, but for just the two of us there was plenty of space. I forgot shampoo and conditioner and was very happy that there were travel sized ones provided (and makeup remover wipes which was a plus). I was nervous after reading the reviews about the walk to the dock, but honestly I had no problem getting to and from the dock. We are in our twenties so I can see how it might be a little dangerous for young kids (just be cautious with steps). But overall we had a great stay and it was a great price. Very quiet during the day and night.

Great location but house/property needs serious TLC

We loved being so near Mercer Lake. However, many things inside and outside need replacement or repair. The path down to the dock was precarious. The front porch steps were not level. The steps leading to the dock were not in good condition and precarious. The ladder from the water onto the dock was rusty and wobbly. Inside the house, there were several creaky and loose floorboards and the futons are very old with not very comfortable mattresses. Overall, it was not unclean but just did not feel very well maintained.

Not listed properly, this is a fisherman cabin at best.

If it wasn't for the comfy bed,good heat and hot water I would be giving no stars. We cook when we rent a property like this other wise we would just get a hotel room. The pots and pans were atrocious!! I wouldn't even donate them to goodwill. Utensils were outdated and seemed dirty. Spices old,no foil,no where to store leftovers or cover them if they were on a plate or bowl. Dish washer door broken. No clocks?? We have stayed in many vrbos,but seems that the ones that are managed by vascas have been horrible. Will never stay in a vascas property again. This was a cute place but needs alot of TLC. The boat dock was a nice feature but very difficult to navigate to get to it ,especially when wet.ok its Oregon its going to be wet alot. As you see not happy at all. Like I said earlier if it wasn't for the nice tub which was updated. Lots of hot water, and fireplace (of course there was no wood provided), And the comfy bed, we would have found other accommodations. I hope this ends up on the ones email so they can address it.

Serious repairs needed to be safe

Owner had responded to previous reviewer's concerned about safety of dock and deck. Owner represented that things were being addressed. I have seen this before on other rentals and always, the owner had addressed the concerns. As of 8/17/2020 no repairs have been made and access to the dock and the actual viewing deck should not be used. This house sits on the lake so the viewing deck (pictures in the ad) and the dock to water are the primary attractions. Gaps on banister of viewing deck are way larger than code would require for safety - a child, pet or even a small adult could easily fall through to a good 20' drop. Steps to dock are dangerous and there is a unacceptable gap to get from wobbly steps to platform leading to dock. House countertops are broken and/or not attached. Cookware is definitely less than adequate. NO SMOKE ALARM! Wall above fireplace shows smoke damage which could demonstrate a lack of proper chimney cleaning and could be dangerous. Banister on front steps is broken. I will be contacting Lane County Building Safety regarding code enforcement of these issues on a rental. VRBO should be screening the properties they allow under their listings when they see negative complaints.

Older home on Lake

The area is very nice, the home is a older home and needs some TLC. The septic tank needs emptied, was running down the yard, whe you showered, washed dishes or used bathroom, and it smelled like sewer when you went outside.
