Friendly and welcoming. Decor feels like a return to the 90s but the house was nice and clean and gets bonus points for having proper a coffee machine and espresso maker (not just capsules). Communication with the host was very good (in French, so I used a translate app) and access was easy. We had a great time enjoying the surf. Thank you!!

Great stay! We traveled with family and a young child. The house is spacious, spotlessly clean, and extremely well stocked. We especially enjoyed the outdoor areas and the beautiful view from the top balcony. Having on-site parking was a big plus since we had a rental car.The host was very responsive and communication was smooth, even though we relied on Google Translate to navigate between French (on Vrbo) and Portuguese (during check-in).The location is ideal—just a 10-minute walk to the beach, with a local supermarket, cafés, and restaurants all close by. One note for families with adventurous kids: there’s a cliff at the end of the street, so it’s worth keeping an eye out.Our only minor criticism is that the listing’s “150 meters to the beach” could be misleading. While the beach is nearby, the cliff behind the house means you’ll need to walk a bit farther to access it directly.

Great, spacious house close to the beach

We had a great week in the house! It is situated around 10 minutes walk away from the beach in Baleal and is equipped with everything that you need (except maybe a few more sofas/armchairs to relax with 6 people in the house). We were even allowed to use the softtop surfboards free of charge. We were three parties so the three bedrooms with a bathroom each were perfect for us. We didn’t spent a lot of time outside as the weather was very moody but there is quite a lot of space around the house and a bbq to hang out. The walk to the beach is very short (10 mins) and to the cliffs it’s even shorter (2 mins). For us it was ideal for a week of surfing and enjoying being by the seaside in autumn!

Clean, spacious, functional and well located

This is a great base to take advantage of Baleal's beaches, surf and surf schools. The outdoor shower and footbath are great for washing off sand, the top balcony is lovely for an evening 'sundowner' to the sound of the surf, and the beaches, local supermarket/cafe and restaurants are an easy few minutes walk. Nearby Peniche is 10-15 minutes drive and has bigger supermarkets and some nice fish restaurants. If you have smaller children be careful of the nearest (unsupervised) beach just a couple of minutes away, which can have quite an undertow. Don't miss the stunning sunset views there! Be aware that the internet connection is very slow, but we didn't come here to watch Youtube :-) I'd certainly recommend this for a memorable sea/surf centric holiday!

Excellent location, beautiful property, great service

Isabelle (property owner) and Rita (property manager) were attentive and prompt with their communication via WhatsApp from the time we reserved the house thru the end of our stay. The house is located near some lovely restaurants and a café with a grocery store that is open early in the morning. Very convenient. The house was impeccably clean with all the amenities you could ever want while on vacation. The walk to the beach was merely 5 minutes. If you are one who likes to wander, there are loads of places to walk, lots of beach to wander on, Peniche is a 40 min walk (or 5 min drive) everywhere is either quaint or breathtaking.We made several day trips from here since its proximity to places like Óbidos, Nazaré and Alcobaça is so accessible. In the event we return, we will definitely stay here.

Wir haben im November eine wundervolle Woche verbracht. Der Surfspot ist in 3 Minuten fußläufig erreichbar. Für einen Surfurlaub ist das Haus bestens geeignet.

Highly recommend! Great location for surfers and visiting area around Lisbon

Great house. Super clean, with everything you need for an extended stay. Very comfortable and spacious. PERFECT for those who surf. Baleal beaches are a 5 min walk. The house has a securely locked garage that you can use to store your boards and wetsuits safely, without having to bring them into the house. Outdoor shower and hose to wash off sand. Even if you don't surf, this house is a great choice for a beach/sightseeing vacation. Ferrel/Baleal is a super-chill town, with gorgeous beaches. From the house, it's about a 20-minute drive to the main highway, so you can easily reach Lisbon, Sintra, Coimbra, etc. Highly recommended.

Good family friendly home

Nice big house with a lovely outdoor space with bbq and court yard, kids loved to play outside and the outdoor shower, outdoor furniture, storage space for surfboards in the garage, easy parking were fantastic. The wifi was a nice surprise! The inside of the house is actually nicer than the pictures, as previously mentioned in other reviews. Bedrooms are functional and spacious, good storage space, bathrooms dated but clean, towels and linen were good and the balcony on the top floor was great to have an aperitif with a nice view! the distance is too far to really assess the waves to check surfing conditions from window or balcony, so you just walk to the end of the street to do a surf check from the top of the cliff. I wish there was a bigger sofa / seating arrangement in the living room, because staying with a group or larger family there isn’t really a large enough comfy place to relax and chat or watch a movie in the evening. Also, as mentioned in the ad about ‘video surveillance’, I had expected this to be outside near the front door, but the cctv seems to be located in the living room which I thought was very strange and made us feel rather uncomfortable and a compromise of our privacy. I don’t even know if it is on though during the time guests are staying, or if it is for when the house is unoccupied, so I should have checked with the owner at the time and may be would have felt more at ease. The kitchen is fine, some basic pantry items are present which is nice. Location is good, supermarket close by and quiet street. The path to closest beach access is only 150m walk on the road, but then it is still 200m on the path down the cliffs to get to the actual closest beach, which is a beautiful walk but depending on the type and number of boards you are carrying it is something to keep in mind. We enjoyed our stay and thought it was good value for the price. Thank you to Isabelle and Rita for flexible check in and check out times 👍😊

Big house with good position. But definitely not best in the area.

Attention, NO WIFI in the house! Was totally our fault to miss this point, but we honestly did not expect the house for relatively HIGH price to have no wifi. Also, we didn't check amount of towels on arrival which caused some discomfort later. Very good positioned though. Also, it has 2 big bedrooms and 1 "under roof" bedroom, which is not that bad. Good kitchen! Floor was dusty, but linen and bathrooms were clean. We had very flexible check-in, but communication with owner was not very friendly.

Wunderbare Ferien an Portugals Atlantikküste

Wir waren zum 2. Mal Gäste in Isabelles wunderschönem Haus in Baleal. Perfekte Lage, direkt an vielen Surfschulen und am Strand von Baleal. Wir haben uns wieder sehr wohl gefühlt und gut erholt.

Très belle maison, très bon emplacement, très pratique

Très pratique pour activités plage avec douche extérieure pour se rincer, l'accès à la plage en quelques minutes à pieds. De la place pour la voiture à l'intérieur de la propriété, garage séparé pour le matériel. Chambres spacieuses avec très bonne literie. Bonne qualité générale des équipements de la maison et complet. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour, à recommander.

Très belle location bien placée

Accueil très prévenant et souriant La maison est tres belle, grande, calme, propre et bien agencée / décorée : belle qualité de construction et d’ameublement , extérieurs (dont terrasse dominante vue sur mer au loin au second etage) très agréables, facilité de faire secher les affaires de surf par ex, garage pour tout ranger en sécurité ... La plage et ses criques est a 3 min a pied sans route à traverser Tout de quoi passer d’excellentes vacances ! On recommande !
