Super cute and cozy! We had a great weekend trip here. It’s nice and quiet, the perfect place to look at the stars. The yard was absolutely beautiful and full of life… butterflies, bees, and the swallows taking care of their babies. We loved this place and plan to book here next year!

We stayed here a few years ago and had a great experience so we went back, but did not have the same experience. There were many scorpions in the house to the point where we were anxious when sleeping. There were also termites coming from the ceiling in the living room. The host did provide a partial refund for the pest issues which was appreciated, but unfortunately it tainted our experience this time.

The scorpions have become an issue after the rains which have followed the extreme drought in our area. We have taken steps to address this problem. In fact, we sprayed prior to this guest arriving which is why dead scorpions were found. And unfortunately it takes some time for pesticide to penetrate a scorpion exoskeleton. In addition, we scheduled another treatment the day after this guest’s departure. We have found no sign of termites but will stay alert for them.

Beautiful Cabin

The cabin was so cute and so peaceful. The bedrooms were clean and the owners let us check in early since my family flew in from N Carolina. It was a nice weekend getaway for the wedding!

The refrigerator was dirty and wasn’t cooling and the shower had the previous guest dirty personal care products (razors and bar soap). I notified the operator/owner and was told just throw them away. The refrigerator issue was never addressed or resolved.

We are very conscientious about providing a clean and comfortable home. Our previous reviews reflect this. We are sorry we overlooked a razor left on the shelf in the shower. We have addressed the refrigerator issue. A previous guest had evidently incorrectly turned the dial.

Charming historical house was great

Family wedding at Geronimo Oaks made this location perfect for our family as it is five minutes away and we were able to let everyone stay at the reception as long or as short a time as they wanted! The house had everything we needed for the eight adults that stayed and we loved the beautiful sunrise views and historical charm of the place!

We are life-long residents of this area. Joy was raised on this family farm and still has relatives nearby. We are both descended from the German immigrants who came to this area in the mid 1800's. We have always felt called to help restore architectural treasures of the past. Our two sons share our passion and helped to save this home.

This house sat on property that was slated for future development and likely would have been destroyed. In 2010 we purchased the house and moved it to the family farm where we have 3 other vacation rentals. After 4 years of hard work the restoration was completed and the house was ready for guests. We have tried to preserve much of the original craftsmanship and charm. The house still has all the original handmade doors and windows. Reclaimed pine floors are throughout the house. The unique wood trim is a good example of the artistic abilities and the attention to detail of German artisans of the period. When you stay in this house you will have a real appreciation for the work that had to be done to build a home in this area in 1860.

この宿泊施設の特徴

When we first saw this house it was in an advanced state of disrepair. But even in this condition we could see the potential. The house had been untouched since about 1950. There was no electricity or plumbing in the house. But this afforded us the chance to 'start from scratch' to install modern amenities. All the original doors, windows, and pine flooring have been restored. We reconstructed the porch to give guests a good place to relax and visit. We have tried to furnish the house with 'old things', but at same time make it comfortable and useable - not like a museum.
