This 2 bedrm 2 bath condo had many great features both in the unit and in the complex. Faves about the Aspens: awesome hot tubs with views of the slope, ski in/ski out, ski valet, walk down the slope to the upper Blackcomb village, storage locker for our last day after check out so we could stay longer, and a short (10 minute) walk to the main village and so many great restaurants and shops. Here is what I liked about the unit: two bathrooms to make life easier, two Moki pots to make great coffee in addition to the drip maker, lots of window light, 4th floor on the end so no noise at all from neighbors, comfortable beds, lots of sofa space, Netflix and Disney TV already signed in, extremely well equipped kitchen, very genuine and kind owner, who spent a lot of time on the phone with me when there were a few issues with check in. Although it would not deter me from booking this property again, there were a few things that took us off guard, and felt like a hassle. The unit comes with a concierge service, but we found the person difficult to communicate with, and had several misunderstandings because she was inconsistent in what method of talking, text vs. email, and then messages were overlooked (to clarify, this is not the owner, Kelly). Also, there were very simple things she responded to right away, but she ignored me there were issues, and she never apologized. Thankfully, the owner was responsive. Another issue (not the owner's fault), was that the rental shop in the Aspens did not provide the service we were told by the concierge they would provide: renting only boots. As a result, we spent twice as much money as we expected to, and it affected our plans. This felt frustrating. Regarding the unit, it wasn't as clean as we expected. I talked to the owner about this, and everything we had a concern about made sense--it is hard to get consistent housekeeping right now, as there is a shortage of staff. The cleaners were probably rushed before we checked in as someone else had checked out that morning. The unit was really dusty, under the surface. The bedding for the master bed wasn't a good fit (pillowcases too short) so we felt a little like we were sleeping on a dirty pillow. The bathroom had a very strong odor when we arrived, but we figured out with the owner that the cleaners had bleached the tile. All these things made for a rocky arrival day. Even so, within 24 hours, we were extremely happy and so grateful for this delightful visit.
