Men’s Retreat

Most of all, location is just perfect. We walked to Main Street every day. Everyone had their own room. House was perfectly equipped, clean and property manager was on top of everything.

Great family house

Many areas where groups could gather. Ample dining room so we could all eat at once. Very well appointed kitchen. Hot tub and wood burning fireplace were great addition. Strong recommendation!

Cannot say enough positive things about Karen and this property. Pictures are very accurate. I was worried there would not be enough space for our family of 16, and it was PERFECT! We had the BEST time!

50th Anniversary family celebration

We could not have asked for a better house for the 16 of us ranging in age from 2 to 80! The home met all of our requirements- great kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, perfect living areas, hot tub and garden! Walking to town was simple for shopping, eating and to ride the gondola to the top .

Breckenridge vacation

We enjoyed the house immensely. The 8 bedrooms, with 4 suites, were perfect for my wife, our 3 married children, and our remaining children and grandchildren.

Wonderful vacation home!

We stayed at Wapiti Lodge for 5 nights with 14 family members. It was wonderful. Plenty of space. Kitchen was well equipped. Playground for children. Hot tub, ping pong, pool. Plenty of living space bedrooms and bathrooms Could not have asked for a better place for our family vacation. Would definitely stay here again. 5 stars!!

Great place!

The house was perfect and easily accommodated our party of 11, including a toddler and an infant. The lifts are all a quick shuttle ride away and the stop is just two doors down from the house. Very well stocked kitchen!

Well-designed and well-equipped. Tastefully and comfortably decorated. Excellent location. Information provided was helpful. Check-in and out was clear and reasonable. Very well suited for our family spanning three generations and staying for a week.

Checked all the boxes and more!

Wapiti Lodge was the perfect location for our annual 3 generation family reunion. Katie was very proactive and apologetic about communicating an issue involving a prior guest that did not secure the garbage bins which had a minor impact on our gathering. Everything was well-maintained and the kitchen was better stocked than our own home! We utilized the entire lodge including hot tub, swing set, game room, etc. Everything as advertised! Since we were there during the Summer Olympics, we even invented our own event of 'cold water immersion' in the nearby Blue River. Thank you Katie for sharing the lodge with our family

Great property for groups - everything you need and more!

Plenty of room for multiple families. Large mud room with huge boot/glove dryer was perfect for our ski gear. House has everything you need and more - not like most rentals. Kitchen is stocked, tons of towels, extra blankets and humidifiers in rooms, games, books, firewood, and toiletries. Bathrooms are all updated and look brand new. Location is excellent. Rental and check in/out process was super simple. We feel extremely lucky to have found this property. Would definitely rent again.

Wow! So much more than we expected!!

We loved our week at Wapiti Lodge. The house is even larger than we saw online, extremely comfortable and we had plenty of room to spread out and relax for our group of 14. The kitchen is very well stocked and has great appliances to cook at home. It's also just a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk to town and the Village base if you wanted to eat out. The bus stop is very close too which was convenient for getting to the mountain to ski each morning. Katie is a gem to work with, and she was very helpful answering our questions and worked with us when a large snow storm caused our plans to change. We would 100% stay here again, and we can't wait to come back to Wapiti Lodge. Thank you for your hospitality.

Family vacation

We were worried initially whether would be able to park 5 vehicles, including two pickup trucks since no street parking. All vehicles did fit although did have to move vehicles around to get vehicles out. Enjoyed Breckenridge and surrounding activities. Family went trail riding, fly fishing, gondola ride, snd white water rafting. Shopping as well. Would be nice to have gate to keep 9 month old from climbing stairs — the one at house is broken. Enjoyed amenities at house. Very well suited for family of 16.

Spring Break 2023

The house was bigger and nicer than I expected from the photos. The wood fireplace was amazing. Everything is available in the kitchen and labeled. The only complaint is the spot for the trash. It almost took two people to take it the trash out and was messy when we got there. My son had to dig out the empty one.when we got there.

Great stay in Breckenridge!

We had a fantastic stay at this home! It was spacious, clean, and well-equipped for our large group of 17. The kitchen was a standout—high-quality equipment, and having two ovens and two refrigerators made cooking for a crowd a breeze. The house was comfortable, though it took a little time to warm up when we first arrived. The location was also great. We loved the hot tub and playing a game of pool in the game room after a fun day on the slopes. And the kids loved playing in the snow-- they built an igloo outside in the yard from a huge snow pile and had plenty of sleds to go around. The only downside was the bunk bed situation. We had planned to use both bunk rooms for the kids, but one of them (with a double on the bottom and single on top) wasn’t really functional as a bunk. The top bunk was so close to the ceiling that none of the kids (ages 8 to 11) were able to sit up without hitting their heads on the ceiling. We had to adjust our sleeping arrangements, splitting up the kids, but fortunately, there were other beds available in different rooms so everyone could sleep comfortably.Overall, this is a great rental with a well-stocked kitchen, comfortable accommodations, and a great location. We had a wonderful stay in Breckenridge! Just keep in mind the bunk bed limitations if you're planning for kids to use them- the two top bunks in the other bunk bed room (off the game room) were great! It's just room with the single bunk that to top bunk wasn't usable.

Excellent home for a large family get-away!

I can't say enough good things about this rental. My family and I spent a long weekend at the house with old friends (6 other families) from all over the country, and had a wonderful time. The house was clean, very well-furnished, and cozy. It was big enough to sleep our 20 guests (6 of them were kids) comfortably, and was in a great location - walking distance from Main Street. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were plentiful, and we were very impressed with the well-appointed kitchen. The kitchen had every appliance and gadget you could imagine. The house is a great place to rent if your group includes any children. The owners have taken great care to provide a comfortable environment for kids, including providing a kids' table and dinnerware, toys, a play area outside, bunk beds, pack and plays and bumper bars to keep the kids from rolling out bed! Whether your vacation plans include sightseeing, winter sports, or just relaxing by the fire with a good book or a puzzle, you'll find that this house meets your needs. Although our group included only adults and small children, the rec room, separate tv room and outdoor space (with jacuzzi) would also cater well to families with teenagers. We loved our stay, and would be happy to rent again if only we were able to get our families together a second time!

FANTASTIC Family Thanksgiving at Wapiti Lodge

Our family has been to Breck for the last 7 years at Thanksgiving to ski and be together and always use VRBO. This is the best rental we have had in those seven years. The location is perfect. Away from the noise but just a three minute drive or short walk if you want to get there. The house was spotlessly clean. Everything worked like it was supposed to, which is really saying something when it comes to VRBO rentals. There were clear, concise instructions for everything (hot tub, Sonos, grill, fire place, laundry, trash and recycling). I had great communication with the owner and another in our group had similarly great communication from the property manager. The kitchen gets its own paragraph. Our biggest complaint when we rent homes is the lack of usability of the kitchen. Most homes sleep 14-18 people but if you want to cook for them you are just out of luck. Not this kitchen. 2 ovens, 2 microwaves, big range and a large grill made cooking all meals including Thanksgiving meal a breeze. There are pots, pans, cooking sheets, roasting pans, slow cookers, a FULL spice cabinet and all the things needed to easily prepare large meals for the group. The kitchen is meticulously organized and labeled and it literally has everything. My mom, not believing the reviews having been burned before, brought her expensive knives and several spices with her from Kansas City but they were totally unnecessary. Great accommodation for my large family

My wife and I planned and hosted a week-long summer vacation with our teenaged, adult, and 1 kids in Breckenridge. The house accommodated us perfectly. We were worried that cooking for 13 would be a challenge but we were pleasantly surprised with the variety and size of the kitchen and its contents. Upon hearing from us that the DVD player wasn’t working, the owners shipped a new one to our door by the following day. Such quick responsiveness was much appreciated!

The Russell Clan currently lives all over the country - Nevada, Colorado, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida - but share a love for Colorado which began in 1983 when Grandparents Phil and Connie were stationed at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Denver. The love continued when son Richard and new bride Kristie moved to the Denver area in 1998. Grandson Russell followed in 2003 to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Other family members, no longer able to stay away, joined together to purchase Wapiti Lodge, a home gracious and spacious enough for all of us to be together.

What's not to love about Breckenridge? It is a wonderful mountain town with something for everyone and a town with as much to do in the summer as in the winter. Breckenridge gives us a wonderful respite from the sweltering heat and humidity back East and some true winter weather absent from the South. Its proximity to Denver makes it easily accessible for those who have to fly to Colorado. We can be in Breckenridge in under two hours after landing at DIA. Access to world class fly fishing, skiing, dining, shopping, hiking, not to mention the surrounding beauty and scenery made Breckenridge an easy choice.

After the home itself, with all its charm and comfort, the second most wonderful thing about Wapiti Lodge is its proximity to town. Katie and Doug often walk into town in the morning for a breakfast burrito. Connie and Phil are known to walk to town to get the paper. Ellen (the big shopper of the family)is usually able to convince someone to walk into town to go shopping. Richard and Kristie's three girls love to walk to town knowing they can always take the bus home (the shuttle stop is one door up). And the whole family has been known to walk into town after dinner for ice cream. In the winter when the weather does not permit you to walk, the free shuttle takes just minutes to get to the base of Peak 9, downtown, or the gondola. The shuttle is frequent, reliable and easy to use.
