We fell in love with Merida and knew we had to be a part of this amazing city. We love the Colonial facades of the Historic homes, and love to look inside. After renting a few times , we wanted to be right in the heart, and chose the Santiago area for our purchase. We had rented farther out of the main area, but decided that when you want to watch all the activities in the evening its rather nice to not have to walk too far back home. We chose our property because it was so close to all the vibrancy and liveliness in the parks and squares and restaurants which we love, and yet had a peaceful ambience once you open the doors. We named the home Lola quite by accident as the previous owners Pug was named Lola, and our tabbycat is named Lola, so we just began calling it Lola, so Lola it must stay. We love our home for its high beamed ceilings, historic doors, thick walls, and shaded patio and its many charms. The home has all the amenities you will need, and is such a peaceful oasis in this safe and wonderful city. The barrio where Casa Lola is situated is Santiago, and in the morning you can hear the delightful songs of the local school children, and purchase fresh fruit just down the street. The neighbourhood is friendly, and once inside the home, you can't help but feel relaxed, but do go out evenings to the Zocalo and parks experience the vibrancy of the city. There are so many events, and museums and fabulous architecture that you will never tire of this city.
