Spacious property

Impressive property with plenty of space for our group of 11. Good location for visiting Avignon and Orange. Lots of activities for children including pool, bicycles, table tennis and volleyball.

Sprookjesachtig landgoed

Dit landgoed met geschiedenis en authenticiteit overtrof onze verwachtingen. Niet alleen het huis maar ook de prachtig aangelegde tuinen met oude platanen en een heerlijk groot en diep zwembad waren een feest om in te verblijven. Mijn kleinkinderen waren niet uit het water te krijgen en genoten net als wij volop.

Sehr schönes, geräumiges, stilvolles chateau. Viele Spielmöglichkeiten: Tischkicker, Pingpong, Trampolin,,grosser Pool. Schade nur, dass die Anmeldung über die Fewo-direkt-App nicht funktioniert, was die Kontaktaufnahme mit dem Vermieter erschwerte(fürs wlan-passwort). Insgesamt: traumhaft

So grateful for such a wonderful experience

We absolutely loved our week at Chateau Coste! Waking up to the blissful sound of birds, and inhaling lavender in full bloom across the road, the chateau was the perfect escape from our busy life in Sydney, Australia. We were three families with eight children aged between two and nine. Days were spent riding bikes, swimming, exploring the garden, eating, drinking and playing card games outside. The local bakery was only a 5 minute bike ride into town - a morning croissant or pastry becoming part of our daily routine. We also did a few car trips visiting Orange, Avignon, Châteauneuf-du-Pape,

merveilleuse maison et jardin paradisiaque ,pour accueillir toutes les generations

Tout etait parfait ,les equipements au top pour une famille nombreuse avec enfants et petits enfants ... les velos sont un grand plus pour des balades tres agréables dans les environs le gardien est discret et efficace ,disponible ... De plus ,le temps pluvieux avant et apres notre séjour ,s'est mis au beau et le soleil nous a permis de prendre tous nos repas dehors ... on reviendra !

Fantastic vacation spot for a family vacation!

The house, garden, and pool are absolutely beautiful. There is plenty of space, beds, kitchen items, eating areas, etc for a large group of people to have a relaxing vacation together. Camille was very responsive with all of our questions. Marie Noelle, the cool, made us a few delicious meals and was so sweet. I would highly recommend this home!

A jewel in the middle of wine country!

This chateau is simply amazing! Our extended family was 6 adults and 7 kids and we had plenty of room! The house grew on us and at the end of our week none of us wantes to leave! We visited in the height of the August heat and the pool was an absolute must! We were in and out constantly and it was so refreshing! The property is expansive and beautiful, from the trees and vines to the architecture of the house and buildings. The owners were very responsive and Daniel, the groundskeeper, was always happy with assistance when needed. It is ideally located close to Avignon, Chateauneuf du Pape and Mount Ventoux. We can't recommend this property highly enough and will definitely be going back!

Fabulous

We can’t say enough about how marvellous our week in this beautiful house was. Everything was as described and Camille the owner could not have been more helpful in responding to questions before and during the holiday. The children loved the pool and as the house is definitely shabby chic, if still elegant, we didn’t have to worry unduly about the children. The house has everything that you could need for a wonderful stay. Marie Noelle cooked several meals for us and even our fussy children were impressed! Daniel was most helpful with any issues and cleaned the very well used pool. We’d love to go back to this authentic french family home.

Magnifique!

I stayed for 15 days with friends, I can’t even explain how perfect this place is for a group of friends to spend time making dinners every night and sit on a long beautiful table outside and enjoy each other’s company. I am in awe of how beautiful the grounds are and the incredible house , old in the best Provençal way, fully stocked, comfortable beds, we were extremely happy. Daniel who takes care of the estate was wonderful and helpful.We are already planning to go back as soon as we all can!

Fantastic Family Gathering Place

The chateau is just as lovely as it looks in the photos, full of old world charm. Our family group of 14 adults, teenagers and younger children fitted the space perfectly and we particularly loved eating outside in the courtyard and playing volleyball, badminton and other games on the grass by the pool. It is an idyllic place to relax together, with the added bonus of being able to walk or cycle into Camaret easily to visit the Boulangerie in the morning or one of the town's bars in the evening.

Een fantastisch verblijf

Het landhuis bood veel ruimte zowel binnen als buitenshuis. Binnen vele kamers waar het oude charmante Frankrijk te ervaren was. De keuken is wat gedateerd, maar schoon en goed werkend. Er was een enorme hoeveelheid aan bestek, glazen, borden, pannen, etc, meer dan voldoende voor de 13 personen die wij telden. Er waren 3 badkamers welke prima functioneerden, ook als 3 personen tegelijk onder de douche stonden. De slaapkamers waren van ruime afmetingen. In alle kamers was een staande ventilator aanwezig, welke optimaal gebruikt zijn. De bedden lagen comfortabel, evenals de ligbedden bij het zwembad. De stoelen bij de eettafel voldeden. Het zwembad was van ruime afmeting met een flink diep gedeelte. De mogelijkheid om te tafeltennissen en tafelvoetbal is erg prettig. Op de eerste verdieping was een zitkamer met uitstekende wifi verbinding, een eerste levensbehoefte voor puberkinderen. Zij hadden zo een eigen kamer om zich even in terug te trekken. Het grasveld naast het zwembad kan gebruikt worden voor badminton, volleybal of voetvolley. Er waren nu wel wespen, maar gedurende de hele week is niemand van ons gestoken door een wesp. Daniel kwam iedere dag langs om het zwembad te checken en was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De intermarche was ook op fietsafstand en als je net buiten het landgoed staat, kon je in de vertr de mont ventoux zien. Al met al hebben we een heerlijk verblijf gehad, een echte aanrader waarbij je niet op elkaars lip zit. Bedankt!!

Prepare for fun

Our family loved this property and would gladly do so again. Plenty of space and has something for everyone of all ages. There is a fully stocked kitchen with appropriate condiments and room galore for conversation or reading. Many wineries. The hosts were responsive. Plan your trip now!

Vraiment très bien

Nous étions deux familles avec jeunes enfants + des amis sans enfants. La maison est superbe, le parc magnifique, l'emplacement très calme en bordure du village (intermarché, boulangerie, essence...). De très grandes chambres et salle de bains, tout le rez de chaussée en salle à manger, grande cuisine et salon. En plein novembre la maison était bien chauffée, déjeuners dehors dans la cour à l'abri du vent. Plein de balades autour de la maison (Séguret, les Dentelles de Montmirail, Chateauneuf du Pape... marche dans les champs de vignes et de lavande en partant de la maison à pied). Camille était très facilement joignable et Daniel nous a accueilli très chaleureusement. On reviendra!

Wonderful place

We stayed as a group of three families with children aged from 4-13. This is one of the best places we have stayed. The communication with Camille has been very quick and easy. The place is spotless, and beautiful. The garden has a brilliant layout which means the children can play independently but within sight/ sound. We catered for ourselves the first week and then Camille put us in touch with Marie who came for a couple of hours every day to help clean and cook delicious food for the children and us. She was absolutely wonderful and made the stay so relaxing. The gardens and pool were expertly and discretely looked after by Daniel who was extremely helpful and efficient. The pool is absolutely lovely. We are hoping to book again for next year.

Semaine en famille

Nous avons passé notre première semaine de vacances avec un couple ami et leurs enfants. Nous étions 4 adultes et 4 enfants. La demeure a parfaitement correspondu à notre programme et restera pour nous un beau souvenir. Quant à Marie Noelle, nous ne saurions exprimer comment sa presence et sa générosité furent fortement appréciée…

In 1893 a young industrial man, friend of the family, who is building a plant in Camaret (of which there are still the old brick chimney in the village center) asks the Coste family to use their service quarter to install its first machines and begin forming his employee: my great grandfather Martial Raud.

The Coste leave him their house Camaret as they come less often. My grandmother and two of my great uncles are born during this long stay.
In 1897 Martial dies suddenly at 41. We have to leave, the Coste get their house back, house now called "Château-Coste, as often in the south.

In September 1949 my grand mother, back from Madagascar, buys the the Château-Coste where she was born. The park is reduced to 2 hectares, but the trees are beautiful.
The path to the house are rows of plane trees, and the iron front gate from Girard (excellent ironworker from Avignon from the eighteenth century) continues to drive our friends towards the house.
