Quirky, welcoming and relaxing!
We very much enjoyed our week in Alsancak. Our home was in the grounds of Osman and Sharif's house, but completely separate. The mountain views from the terrace were stunning and ever-changing depending on the time of day, and the sea could be glimpsed between the trees in the opposite direction. The property itself is simply furnished but with all the facilities you might need and very comfortable, with plenty of space both inside and out. The pool was also impeccable, a very good size and with loads of loungers, chairs etc. However, the bonus for us was having Osman and family on hand - never intrusive, but able to offer suggestions for off-the-beaten track excursions, information about Cyprus past and present and to provide us with gifts of fruit from the garden and anything else we might need.
This is not a property for those who want their accommodation to be immaculate, up-to-the minute and soulless. It is instead for those who want a peaceful and relaxing environment where they can gain a real insight into the lives of a modern Turkish Cypriot family.
