Great location, lovely home

Everything was perfect for our stay. Great location near Tahoe Donner and downtown Truckee. The home was tidy and hosts were responsive. Hope to return.

Quiet cabin in truckee

The cabin is nice and was accommodating for us all. The kids enjoyed wandering in the back woods and collecting cones, playing on the tree. The hot tub was enjoyed and worked great.

Another wonderful stay!

We just love coming back to this cabin year after year! The beds are comfortable for a good night sleep, the kitchen has everything you need, and the TV and wifi provide everything we need for entertainment. Our kids are 8 and 6 years old and have their favorite spots. We always love going to the Equestrian Center and Donner Lake. Some new hikes we enjoyed were the Glacier Way Trailhead and Truckee River Trail. The kids wanted a water slide and we found one at the Truckee Community Pool. This cabin is in the perfect location to find any type of fun you want!

Superb Cabin

Great location. BIG house with multiple rooms and bathrooms. Great kitchen. Great decks. This place is a dream and we will do it again. Love it. Cannot say enough nice stuff.

Cabin felt like home

This cabin was perfect for me and my friends to stay at while we went spring snowboarding. Super fast Wi-Fi was a plus for downloading Xbox games and two showers helped. Hot tub was perfect after riding all day and kitchen had everything we needed. Even a bbq in the garage! So this place really was perfect and it felt like a second home.

Cozy Clean Cabin at an affordable price

This cabin is clean cozy cabin in a quiet golf coarse neighborhood. The house had all the necessities to make our stay very comfortable. It was perfect for my family of 4 and my two parents. The kids really enjoyed the hot tub, my husband took advantage of the golf coarses and my Dad went fishing twice a day! It is also close to the town so we were able to do our grocery shopping and go to Dairy Queen for ice-cream. Would definitely book again

Sugar Bowl vacation

We had a great time skiing-the weather could not have been more perfect! The rooms and beds were also satisfactory. However, the hot tub (our main reason for reserving this cabin) did not function the entire time we were there. We even called the maintenance number and left a message, but no one got back to use. We are still waiting for someone to discuss this issue with us a week after our trip. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but were expecting the use of the hot tub as that is their main selling point.

Mediocre home that was FILTHY - garbage, condoms and beer cans

We checked in and noticed the home appeared uncleaned. There were alcohol cans all over the exterior of the property, as well as a bunch of other garbage. The hot tub had a layer of filthy film on the top and was unusable. Took two days to get up and running. Found a used condom wrapper in the master bedroom. Felt totally skeevy. The home itself was just mediocre. Good, not great. If we didnt have these other issues, would give it 3.5 stars. However, the cleaning and Vacasa customer service was awful.

Disappointed

Booked this place to celebrate my wife’s 40th, her only request was that she wanted a hot tub. Original listing advertised a hot tub however upon arrival the hot tub was frozen and not operating. Reached out to the property manager who advised that it wasn’t part of the listed amenities (there are signs in the house for hot tub use)…I went back to the listing and it had been updated removing the hot tub language from the listing. We should have been informed that the hot tub was not working so we could have made other arrangements. I asked for a discounted rate and was given an insignificant discount. The property manager Vacasa was not helpful at all and the owner should consider making a change.

Though we enjoyed the snow and the beautiful surroundings we were very disappointed in the rental itself. We had to purchase toilet paper and paper towels as not enough was provided. We also purchased a shovel. We did leave it at the house so the next guests are able to shovel stairs etc for safety reasons. The house was not clean, please see attached photos. I understand that every owner has a right to keep their house how they like, however the listing information and photos need to match. We booked a house with a hot tub and no hot tub. There is completely different furniture in the house, not nearly as nice as the furniture posted. My intention is not to hurt the owners business rental by leaving a negative review, I think it's important to offer the product you tell guests they are purchasing.

Lovely place, but several maintenance issues

The house was lovely, it’s in a great location, and it ultimately met our needs — but I reluctantly admit that we did encounter several disappointments. They called me on the day of arrival to let me know that the fridge was broken and that a mini-fridge would be delivered the following morning. Upon arrival, we also discovered that the hot water was not working and would need to be fixed the following morning. One set of bed sheets had a couple of long hairs on them. And a final, very minor nitpick: I was pleased they had an iron, but sadly I couldn’t find an ironing board to use it with. To their credit, the maintenance folks were extremely proactive, responsive, and helpful. I do understand that maintenance and cleaning issues can happen — it was just disappointing to experience several of these issues in one trip.

Wonderful ski getaway

I rented this house with a group of friends and it was a perfect house for a weekend trip. The house is charming both inside and out and is nicely furnished. We also enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after skiing.

Unhealthy Level of Cleanliness

I’m not sure why I was charged an outrageous cleaning fee, as it doesn’t seem it’s being used. There was pink mold all over the shower curtain downstairs, which forced us to use the tiny shower upstairs. It was unfortunate and annoying, but at least there was only two of us so it worked ok. However, if we had used the max capacity of the cabin, this would have caused a considerable problem. The most disturbing part was that there was a huge white-ish, sticky stain on the inside of the living room coffee table/dining table when you folded it out to the larger size. I’m not sure what the mess was, but I sincerely hope it wasn’t what it looked like, if you catch my drift. Lastly, I had contacted an employee about a refund for the hot tub fee as it was mentioned that the hot tub was not available for use. I was told it would be looked into, but I never heard back. I personally don’t think I should pay an additional fee for a specific amenity if that amenity is unavailable. I don’t think this canon is worth the money you pay to use it.

Always a great stay!

Snowpeak Chalet was once again an incredible place to vacation and close to everything we wanted to do! The chalet is comfortable with plenty of space to spread out. The place has all the amenities from Wifi, televisions to a fully stocked kitchen for cooking. We enjoyed our meals and relaxation on the front and back decks. After a fun day around Tahoe Donner, we would unwind in the hot tub surrounded by the scenery of pine trees and fresh air. Only five minutes from the cabin, we spent an afternoon at Northwoods clubhouse. The kids had a blast there going down the water slide and swimming in the pool. The kids also enjoyed the playground there and as a family, we played tennis there too! We enjoyed several days of swimming at Donner Lake and one day, we took a 25-minute drive to Kings Beach for swimming and playground fun. Our kids also loved daily visits with the horses at the Equestrian Center, only a few minutes drive from the chalet. We look forward to our next stay at the Snowpeak Chalet!

Comfortable and beautiful setting

Comfortable home away from home

We enjoyed our stay and found that there were fans in each bedroom to help with the hot nights. Garage was open for our SUV which was a bonus. Also appreciated the wagon and beach chairs for the evening concert in Truckee. Master bathroom sink was clogged so that needs attention.

Cute, clean place in beautiful location

This house is so cozy and cute. Love the location in Tahoe Donner. House is well equipped with all the supplies you need (especially in the kitchen). Big decks and forest backyard! Love the wood cabin feel.

We Had a Great Time

The cabin was exactly as described. Very clean, very comfortable, had everything we needed (other than a coffee pot but Starbucks is only about 10-15 minutes away). The kids had a great time playing out back in the snow, overall we had a great time.
