Beautiful apartment with breathtaking sea views. Extremely well equipped and included beach towels, umbrellas, beach chairs etc. Had everything in it you need for the most comfortable stay. Most efficient and helpful communication from the owners as well as the property manager during our stay. Location is perfect - right in a small quiet beach and 1 minute walk to Speightstown. Perfect in every aspect. Home from home. Can’t wait to stay again. Thank you Jon, Nicky and Gaël

Great space and location

We really enjoyed our stay at The Wicket. We were two couples and the lay out was great for us with lots of space. All communication before and during our stay was prompt and professional. We had a few minor issues pop up while we were there (like a clogged drain) and they were taken care of very quickly. It is a great apartment that is very well stocked with good amenities. We loved the provided beach chairs! The location is great, within walking distance to many great places to eat, the fish market and the grocery store. We will be back!

Fantastic Holiday

Wonderful apartment . We had an amazing 2 week stay at the Wicket . Location cannot be beaten , steps away from a lovely quiet beach with amazing snorkelling . Easy walk to supermarkets and restaurants yet the apartment itself is calm and peaceful . It is spotlessly clean, really spacious and feels more like a villa . The decor is really beautiful ,beds are comfortable and it is equipped with everything you are likely to need . Speightstown is a great location to stay in Barbados and it was easy to travel by taxi or local buses around the island . The view from the balcony is just stunning . Our only issue was a broken washing machine ,which couldn't be replaced during our visit . However, we managed and the owners are arranging a replacement. We would love to return for another holiday in the future, and highly recommended this gorgeous property .

Barbados Paradise

The Villa was wonderful, it was as advertised. The morning coffee on the balcony along with sunsets were breathtaking. We stayed for 8 nights. The only thing I feel that would be needed is some new frying pans as they were a bit worn. Looking forward to returning to this Gem.

We had a fantastic time at The Wicket. The place itself was really well maintained with plenty of extras (ie: beach chairs, snorkels, etc...). The location can't be beat. We look forward to staying again!

Great accommodation in Speightstown

My spouse and I wanted to experience a different part of the island and this accommodation in its location did not disappoint. Lots of restaurants, easy walk to Mullins Beach and an overall more authentic Bajan experience. The accommodation worked great for us and felt very much like home. Thank you Jon and Nicky!.

Stunning views of the sunset

While searching for a 60th birthday celebration holiday for my wife, we discovered The Wicket at White Sands and booked it for 10 days. It exceeded our expectations! Jon and Nicky were incredibly responsive, staying in touch throughout and answering all our questions. Upon arrival, Gael greeted us, handed over the keys, and walked us through everything we needed to know. She was also available to help with bookings and transport arrangements, making our stay even more enjoyable. The Wicket is bright, clean, and tastefully furnished. As you go upstairs, the "wow" moment hits as you step into the open-plan kitchen and lounge, with the balcony offering stunning sunset sea views. The location is ideal—just a short walk to the town center and right on the beach.The property is spacious, luxurious, and well-equipped with everything you need, from kitchen essentials to beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels. It truly felt like a home away from home. Speightstown is a wonderful place to explore, with a variety of restaurants. Despite visiting during a quieter season in early October, we enjoyed Tides Restaurant, Local & Co., and The Caboose, just 200 yards away. We wished we could have tried Baia, which opened two days after we left.There’s a bus station nearby with low fares ($3.50), but in hindsight, renting a car would have been convenient and affordable.Overall, The Wicket's prime location, quiet atmosphere, and breathtaking sea views made for an unforgettable experience.

35th wedding anniversary

This place is amazing!! I would definitely recommend especially if you are looking for a quiet get away. We had the beach mostly to ourselves. Great restaurants close. A little walk to Heywoods beach for calmer waters. I can’t say enough great things about our trip!!! Only con was the apartment next store was being renovated and they were doing the tile on the balcony for 2 days, so if you are one to let this ruin your visit you might want to ask when that will be done. Nothing the host could control. Jon and Nikki were very responsive and great to work with. Definitely would stay again. One thing the host might want to tell guests is there is a hose on the other side of the parking garage to wash off the sand. We didn’t know about that until a few days into our trip. It made a world of difference cleaning off all the sand!!

Quiet and safe neighborhood, well equipped condo

Beautiful condo in a very convenient neighborhood. Beach right across the street, 2 excellent restaurants practically on the ground floor of the condo (We ate at both: Baia and The Sand Street Bistro--both excellent). A bakery about a 5 min walk away, grocery stores, banks with ATM machines all about 7-12 min walking distance away. The neighborhood was very quiet and felt safe. The condo is located right on the coast so there's beach that goes on and on in either direction you walk. If you walk a little further down, about 10 min, there's Heywood's beach enclosed by a little cove so the waters are calmer. The property was clean and well stocked with anything you could need including insect repellent, plenty of beach towels, sunscreen in case you forgot yours, pots and pans, cooking oil, liquid detergent etc. We did not use it but there's also plenty of beach chairs, snorkel equipment, beach umbrella, board games for use as well. As for cons, there weren't many and as others have said, definitely not deal breakers. We would definitely stay here again. Cons include: 2 flights of stairs. I believe this was in the advertisement though. My mom is older--she could manage but had to be extra careful. As others have mentioned, many locks on the doors which was tricky to maneuver at first and I'm not sure how safe these would keep you if you are fumbling around with keys at night and the showers upstairs were out of order but there was a working shower downstairs.

A Fabulous Stay st The Wicket

We had a wonderful time at The Wicket. A fabulous property in a fantastic location. Lots of room, great facilities, wonderful terrace, comfortable bed…. I could go on and on but suffice to say that we intend to go back at some point, sooner rather than later. Communication with the owners was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend this property. Oh and Speightstown was a great place.

Great apartment

We had an amazing time at “The Wicket”. It is a beautiful, spacious apartment containing everything you could possibly need. Very comfortable beds, cooling air con throughout and lovely sofas. The verandah is delightful with beautiful views of the sunset. And only a few second’s walk to the beach. Highly recommended.

Lovely apartment and great location

This was our second time in Barbados and decided to stay somewhere different to where we stayed last time which was near Oistins. So glad we did! Speightstown is a lively little town with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops a short walk away. Local beaches are great for relaxing and snorkelling. The apartment was extremely spacious with all the amenities you would expect and really felt like a home away from home. Host and apartment manager were really easy to contact and a great help whenever we needed them. Only minor issue was we were expecting to have a BBQ on the patio but this wasn’t available. No big deal as we cooked inside in the MASSIVE well kitted out kitchen instead. We were lucky enough to witness 3 hawksbill turtles nesting on the beach directly opposite the apartment and even managed to save a baby hatchling from the road one morning. Dream come true moments :). Location is also great for heading out to all the various tourist hotspots as it’s fairly central. Definitely recommend you hire a car to explore much of what Barbados has to offer !

Fantastic Property

The Wicket is a fantastic property, very spacious, luxurious and right on the beach. We spent two weeks there and it was very much a home from home. It has everything you need, including chairs and umbrellas for the beach. Speightstown is still a little up and coming, but there is a great mixture of luxury restaurants/beach clubs, and more simple bars and restaurants. Lots of live music too. And it is up and coming. We toured the island and decided it was the best place to be. Jon and Nicky were great hosts, very helpful with all sorts of information and the local house manager was always available when we had a question. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend anyone to stay at the Wicket. Many thanks to our hosts for sharing such a great place to stay.

Beautiful apartment jn a perfect locstion

Nicky and Jon, you have created a little bit of personal paradise in Barbados! Your warmth exuded in the attention to detail in White Sands and your super friendly communication throughout - Gael was also so welcoming when we arrived! You have a beautiful apartment with epic sunsets every evening, a beach that pretty much only we used - handy for ab early morning Easter egg hunt! - and opposite Baia, the best restaurant we ate in, in 2 weeks - and we dined in some very special places. Thank you for your hospitality; we can’t wait to return!

The Best condo in Speightstown

This is our second visit to this property and I will not stay anywhere else. It is very clean with ALL the amenities. The owners have thought of every convenience for their guests and we are very grateful to have stayed in such a beautiful place. We will definitely be back!!

A wonderful apartment and unbelievably kind owners

We recently stayed at The Wicket for seven days, and it was certainly luxier than we expected – light and airy, impeccably clean, well furnished, aircon and fans throughout. To give you an idea of how high-end everything was, the kitchen units had been flown out from England, complete with fitters, to satisfy the previous owner’s desires. (This also had the advantage of providing a couple of 220v sockets). The location was spot-on too: the sizeable balcony overlooked beach and sea, only a road’s-width away, and the centre of town, with its choice of restaurants, was a few minutes’ walk: we particularly liked Local and Co, right on the beach, for its good food and service at reasonable prices. But we wouldn’t have been able to enjoy any of this if it hadn’t been for the incredible kindness of the owners, because owing to a dates mix-up – entirely our fault – we arrived in the evening exactly a week before they were expecting us. They were in residence themselves, and went to a lot of trouble trying to contact the owners of the other apartments in the block to see if one was free, without success. So they offered us the second bedroom for the night, and in the morning said that they’d decided they could camp out in a house they owned and were renovating, so we were welcome to stay, at no extra charge for the week! So a thousand thanks again, Jon and Nicky. And while we don’t recommend other renters make the same mistake as us, know that if you do have any problems, Jon and Nicky will do their utmost to help you out.
