Beautiful property and Akumal Direct was outstanding

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We could not have been happier with the property; it was absolutely beautiful. Fantastic location with beachfront views. We loved the hermit crabs and Iguanas wondering around the property. Akumal Direct went above and beyond in providing excellent service, we originally booked an apartment in Half Moon Bay, they contacted us to advise the Sargassum was bad and offered to move us to Casa Dos Palmas as a complimentary upgrade. They did not have to do that and the fact they did just shows how committed they are to providing a wonderful experience for their guests. We were contacted again once we moved in offering any further advise or help if needed. They answered our queries and gave some good advice as to what to see and do. Uenice and Hugo the caretakers were absolutely lovely and made our stay very comfortable whilst keeping their distance.I cannot recommend Casa Dos Palmas enough and Akumal Direct everything was outstanding in their service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

The chef prepares sumptuous meals which are served gracefully. The caretaking is fantastic. One can find sun or shade at all times. A lovely stroll into "town" and the lovely sandy beach. Such a relaxing and beautiful way to spend a week!

House is very nice

Good location, walking distance to a beach, stores, restaurants, etc. Staff was not around much and did not prepare meals as previously agreed upon, so that was kind of a bummer but the house is nice.

Amazing!

Love staying at Casa Dos Palmas! I’m very tempted to write a bad review so other people don’t rent it! Esther and Rigo are like family and their cooking is authentic Mayan/Mexican and exceptional. Great house for six or eight people.

Warm and welcoming!

This felt more like HOME than a vacation rental. Our group of 8 women loved our week there and took full advantage of the cooking services of the loving caretakers, Rigo and Esther. Rooms, beds, and ALL facilities VERY comfortable. Walked to the lagoon for snorkeling on our last day and we're sorry we hadn't tried it sooner...fantastic! We were a bit overwhelmed by the crowds and commercialism of the tourist areAs south of Cancun, but Akumal was a peaceful paradise.

Casa Dos Palmas

Just returned home from a week at Akumal. Had a great week at the house. There were 8 of us and the house was perfect for is. Esther and Rico were on site daily to take care of the house and us. We had Esther cook dinner at the house and it was great. It’s a winner all around.

Wonderful

All pictures are accurate. Great location, walk to everything. We did rent a golf cart for a couple days but found it not necessary. A small bobble on the first night which was taken care of immediately, excellent customer service. Caretakers on site are wonderful and provided great insight on the area. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for making our vacation so wonderful.

Spacious family retreat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a great 5-bedroom house with plenty of space for four adults and four kids (and room to spare). The location was about halfway walking distance between Lol-Ha and La Buena Vida so very convenient. While centrally located, the property is tucked back and surrounded by greenery, making it also secluded. The onsite caretakers were very welcoming, and offered up freshly prepared fruit and coffee some mornings. Plenty of onsite wildlife to entertain the kids. Pool was a good size with some deeper and shallow areas.

Perfect Family Trip

This was exactly the place we were looking for. Beautiful, relaxing, clean, and safe. Easy communications with the manager. AMAZING onsite caretaker. Walking distance to great restaurants, swimming, SCUBA, and shops. Walking distance to a general store, but only a 20 minute drive to a full grocery store. This is a great choice for people looking for more of a "neighborhood" than a resort. And did I mention the view? We spent every morning on the patio watching the sunrise with the breeze blowing in from the Gulf. We had a great time and would definitely return.

Perfecto!

Great place for friends and/or family! Plenty of room to spread out for our group of 6 friends. Rooftop was a nice gathering spot for sunsets, oceanfront yard/patio perfect for sunning during the day and stargazing at night. Esther and Rigo were pleasant and accommodating, cooked us a fantastic 3-course dinner- We highly recommend taking advantage of this optional service. Be prepared to sleep on extremely firm mattresses which are set atop built in concrete platforms in most of the bedrooms. Otherwise, a perfect place to make your vacation memories!

Great Home! Don't Think About It Just Book It!

Book It! This home is amazing!! The home keepers are incredible they helped us out so much. We really appreciate them helping us out everyday. Perfect home to get away and Really enjoy life! There were 9 of us as you can imagine a bit busy. The home is located in the middle of all activities. Literally close to almost all Cenotes. We truly enjoyed our stay. Reviewer Comments: This was our 2nd visit to Casos Dos Palmos-it only gets better.The back side,the ocean, is spectacular,the front side by the pool is tropical and lovely.The house has everything we needed.The caretakers who are devoted to making our stay perfect.BEST of ALL-Hugo,the chef,is amazing. It's 5* dining.We went out once in 2 weeks & the food didn't compare.

Better than home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my family's 3rd year at Casa dos Palmas-beautiful location, home, amenities. But the sole reason we continue to return are the 'caretakers' who take care of us, keep the place spotless and create fabulous meals.BUT WE LOST POWER on 2 days -4 hrs and next day 7 hours-not in town either.Unless there is a transformer for the house, we might not come again.

Hidden costs

Though we had a lovely time staying in Dos Palmas we were shocked on our last day when the housekeeper asked for a 350 dollar tip. We can only assume guests are expected to subsidise her income. This should be made clear on booking and left us with a very bitter taste.

Hi Peter, Thank you very much for staying with us at Casa Dos Palmas. We're sorry to hear there was a communication issue with the staff. Please know that our staff never requests a tip (even though it is appreciated). The request at the end was for the additional services which you've used during your stay and forgot to reimburse them for (cook service and grocery shopping, laundry service, additional guests which you've had over for a couple of nights and dinners). We're very sorry to hear that left a bitter taste at the end of your stay and we've asked them to communicate with guests in a more clear manner going forward. Thank you again for your feedback as we're always looking to improve our services.

Perfect siblings getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was just what we needed. 3 siblings and one wife. Everyone had an oceanfront view and bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked. The nearly- daily fruit offering was very welcome and delicious. We had Hugo and Eunice prepare a very delicious dinner one night, fish and pork, and everything was magnificent. Be sure to order Eunice's lime pie. Couldn't have been happier and are eager to return!

A Wonderful Stay in Paradise

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a fantastic stay at Casa Dos Palmas! Very comfortable house with full amenities, picturesque view and convenient pool (great for kids). What made our visit so special was the hospitality from the caretakers - Hugo, Eunice and their family. They were so helpful in navigating Akumal as well as providing housekeeping daily including tidying up and making fresh coffee and fruit. We hired Hugo to cook us dinner one night which was delicious as well as a unique treat for us to try homemade, local specialties. Thank you Hugo and Eunice!
