Make Half Moon Bay the backdrop to your Akumal vacation at Playa Caribe 5. Located on the second floor, this two-bedroom condo combines sweeping Caribbean views with a comfortable layout for couples, friends, or a small family.

The living and dining area opens to a large covered oceanfront terrace where your group can enjoy breakfast, relax in the shade, and take in the view throughout the day.

Inside, colorful Mexican details give the condo a warm tropical character. The kitchen is equipped with a stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and everyday essentials for meals at home.

Both bedrooms feature king beds, ocean views, private en-suite bathrooms, and small balconies. A queen sofa bed in the living room provides additional sleeping space for a fifth guest.

The shared beachfront pool is just downstairs, with Half Moon Bay only steps beyond. Guests can relax beneath the beach palapas, settle into a lounger, or head into the bay for snorkeling when conditions are favorable.

The natural shoreline includes areas of sand, rock, and coral, so water shoes are recommended for entering the water.

Playa Caribe sits directly on Half Moon Bay, with restaurants within walking distance and Yal-Ku Lagoon nearby. Akumal Bay, additional restaurants, shops, snorkeling, and dive services are also within easy reach.

A car is useful for guests planning to explore Tulum, cenotes, eco-parks, and other destinations along the Riviera Maya.

• Playa Caribe 5 is located on the second floor and there is no elevator.
• AC is provided in each bedroom and the living room.
• The kitchen has a stovetop but no oven.
• Housekeeping is provided Monday through Saturday.
• Water entry can include rock and coral, so water shoes are recommended for swimming and snorkeling.
• The pool, beach palapas, loungers, outdoor shower, and charcoal grill are shared amenities.
• A crib and high chair are available upon request for an additional fee.
• Guest laundry service is not available.

Half Moon Bay

Great location on Half moon Bay. Loved the decor, and bathtubs, staff was very helpful- would definitely recommend.

Beautiful views easy beach access

Covered patio with comfortable loungers was shaded a good share of the day (my preferenence) Easy pool and beach access with great snorkeling right out front. The only downside was being located just above the pool there was often noise during the day. The small kitchen had no condiments, and very short on cutlery. But we had a fabulous maid, Paty who cleaned our cooking messes cheerfully every day.

We so enjoyed our stay at Playa Caribe #5 this summer. The condo was perfect as was the location. We would highly recommend staying here on your next visit to Akumal. (As long as it doesn't interfere with our plans on staying there again!)

Wonderful week at Playa Caribe #5

Playa Caribe is great property set in the middle of Half Moon Bay. Unit #5 has everything you need for a comfortable and convenient stay, and the view is spectacular! Many great restaurants are within walking distance, as is Yal Kul Lagoon. This area is a snorkeler's paradise, and we were pleased that the weather cooperated and we were able to go out every day. The owner of this property was great about sending information about things to do and places to eat in the area prior to our arrival. It was a great vacation and we hope to return again in the coming years.

Perfect!

We just returned from an absolutely perfect Akumal vacation. From the moment we walked in, we knew Annie's condo was special. The condo is immaculate and the daily maid service is wonderful. The festive decor is perfect. There are two AMAZING tile huge bathtubs that we all loved. The staff is wonderful as well as the security, they were on top of everything. Akumal itself is warm and fun but small enough to feel cozy. Thank you, thank you for such a perfect trip.

A very special place!

I really can’t say enough good things about Annie’s condominium! It is in a beautiful location right on the ocean and every night we fell asleeep and woke up to the soothing and relaxing sound of the waves from Half Moon Bay. Inside the condominium is a delightful feast of cheerful color and design....immaculate and comfortable. The staff who work at the complex are friendly and helpful. Also, thank you Annie for all of your tips before we arrived! Can’t wait to come back.

Fantastic Views!

We loved our stay at Playa Caribe #5 from 2/25 to 3/8/13. The unobstructed ocean view from the condo’s main balcony is so beautiful, we just couldn’t get enough of it! The condo is nicely decorated and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and both bedrooms have an ocean view with a small balcony. We only turned on the air conditioning a couple of times because the air flow through the condo keeps it very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We definitely plan to return for another stay at Playa Caribe #5. The owner was a pleasure to work with.

Overall, the condo was as advertised. The view from the window was spectacular every time you walk in the door. The bedrooms were nice with a king bed in each room and each room had an ocean view. This was nice since we had two couples -- no fighting over who got the best room. The condo was updated and modern which I like -- no concrete couch or garish colors. I think that's fantastic and beautiful -- others might miss the traditional Mexican aesthetic. The kitchen was well stocked. The condo was a little small as there was only 1 couch and 1 chair, so it was hard for everyone to sit together in the living room. That being said, we were very rarely in the living room and spent most of the day out in activities, out by the pool, or out on the deck. The condo is beautifully situated in the middle of Half Moon Bay, close enough to walk into Akumal for dinner or Yal-Kul. We did have an issue with the hot water, it never seemed to get very hot and with water pressure. So, the shower was a big negative. I did call about the hot water and was told to let it run and it will get hot. It didn't. It only seemed hot at certain times of day. Also, we had a problem with the toilet -- it leaked. We sent the team a notice about the leak at 5pm and they got to it the next day, unfortunately that was after it broke over night and caused a minor flood. The did a good job fixing it, but wish we didn't have the flood. All in all a very good trip and I would recommend the condo.

Great place...

Loved the traditional style of the place. Of course, the view is fantastic and you not only have a view forward on the patio but the sides are open also for additional view. Spent alot of time on that patio! As noted on the listing, the WiFi was perfect and the air conditioning was perfect and comfortable. Hot water was endless. Kitchen was fully stocked. Akumal is more of a low key area versus Playa de Carmen and Cancun. Went down to Tulum one day and that is getting so busy, I was so glad to get back to Akumal and Annie's place that day to relax again. Great place! Thank you Annie.

I know what you mean about sitting out on the patio. The patio is so close to the water that it almost feels like you are in it! We enjoy the relaxing sounds of the waves, watching the pelicans and frigate birds, spotting fish at the surface, and so much more. Thanks for mentioning the hot water and other standard amenities. Come visit us again!

Loved Playa Caribe #5

We stayed for 10 days at Playa Caribe in unit #5 and loved the vacation. Annie is fantastic to deal with and she has lots of information about the area. The condo is very clean, with daily cleaning, well stocked kitchen and fantastic view of the bay. The staff was great at helping when we needed anything. The town is a 15 minute walk, 2 restaurants are only 5-10 minutes away. There are lots of rocks when getting into the water but we knew this and had water shoes which helped a lot. The water was warm with small waves for the first part of the vacation and then really calm for the end. It was a very relaxing vacation and I would definitely recommend unit #5!

Paradise

Dear Annie and John, Thank you for sharing your special place with us. Everything was perfect!! Your condo is beautifully decorated and well stocked for comfort and functionality. We have been to this area many times, but Akumal is the most centrally located place to stay and we would come again. Coba and Rio Secreto were very easy drives and, of course, the lagoon is around the corner. We spent the $20 for the Palapa at the lagoon and felt it was worth it for the entire day. Not to mention the great snorkeling and sea life right out front. Overall, a relaxing, fantastic vacation. Nice Friday Night lobster dinner for our 15th anniversay at La Lunita. Thanks for the great reference library, maps, brochures, reef books, etc.

Wonderful condo!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this condo right on the water for a mother/daughter girls’ trip. The condo was clean and cute and well equipped. Plenty of towels and purified water! The property managers texted to check on us and respond to our questions. We walked to restaurants and Yal-Ku for snorkeling. The neighborhood was quiet and safe and everyone was kind and welcoming! I’d go back in the winter months when the seaweed isn’t a problem. We were warned, but the amount of seaweed was shocking and we never got in the water in the bay. That was too bad. However we found plenty to do and had a great time.

Beautiful and Comfy Place to Stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo is so beautifully decorated, well appointed and we felt very secure. It had everything we needed. Plus the views from all rooms were amazing and the King bed was super comfortable. The staff was very helpful, and even came late in the evening when the wind blew a bedroom door shut and locked us out. The extra snorkel fins they had by the pool came in handy too. It is a very handy location as well. We loved walking to the village for dinner on occasion, especially recommend the Turtle Cafe and Bakery. Don’t miss walking to the nearby Cenote for snorkeling too. I hope we can return to this lovely condo.

Paradise

Just returned from two glorious days at this unit. Annie was super helpful and the condo is everything as described. You cannot get closer to the beautiful sea and beach. The view is spectacular and the unit is clean, quiet and spacious. Everything is there for you. You are within walking distance of anything you might need. A small grocery store across the street, La Buena Vida restaurant is about a 10 minute walk and Akumal Beach is about 15 minutes away by foot. We were so fortunate to be able to witness baby turtles waking up and heading for the sea, right on the beach in front of the unit. It doesn't get much better.
