Creating artwork and a beautiful healing space in the forest for guests and children has been a passion for Kelly Daniels when she designed and built her original home here 30 Years. . . Her property here faces the beautiful valley of the headwaters of the Blue River, which was considered a sacred place and previously the main camp of the Blackbob tribe of Shawnee Indians. She is a certified forest therapy guide with ANFT and takes people on walks identifying the wild edible and medical plants and teaching people how to help themselves heal in nature.
Her artwork and gardens have been featured in national magazines such as Midwest Living magazine, Kansas City Homes and Gardens magazine, Kansas City Home Design magazine, and the Independent magazine among others.. She has been featured with her work on the Women Today show on channel 41, Fox 4 news, and channel 5 news garden shows.
She also specializes in creating scenic portrait art of children, families and weddings in her gardens, reminiscent of the Impressionist style. She embeds photographs into canvas and applies oils and dyes to enhance color and perfect the images, creating very personal pieces of art.
